- In this video i will show you how to connect a Nintendo switch Pro controller to your PC / Laptop. There is 2 methods just follow my step to step guide in this video. Wired with USB C to micro USB and wireless with Bluetooth. We will be testing it on Steam and shenmue

This may be a dumb question, I want to get a switch and was wondering if I can play it through my Asus gaming laptop ? Will it work if I just plug in the hdmi cable , it has a port for it , PLS HELP
@@CryptKrow in order to do that you would need a capture card. If your laptop has one built in your good otherwise you can buy a cheap one for around $70-$100 USD. hope this helps.

The D-pad build on the switch controller is so much better than the Xbox one.
@@randomguyontheinternet7940 I hate the dpad on the pro controller. It’s by far the worst out of all of them. It doesnt work well and each side can press the others. If you have your finger on the bottom side of the right dpad it’ll register as down. That is terrible for a lot of games
i like the amount of Shenmue in this video 8/10 needs more capsule toys

Also the wired option charges the controller at the same time as you play or let it wired. Cool feature.

VERY HELPFUL! I have a non-steam game, and win10 64. I download 64 version of x360ce and PLACE THE DRIVER IN THE GAME FOLDER. It tells me to download 32 version of x360ce. I did so, and it works. (before I did something wrong, like put the x360ce in a random folder, download the x360ce with the system but not the game.)

Hi Ladies and Gentlemen, I have had some issues with the Switch Pro Controller and playing games that don't natively support for controllers. It seems that I have gotten everything to work by using x360ce, Joy2Key, or Xpadder, but the problem is that when playing said games, both analogs seem to fail at producing a enjoyable mouse replacement (What I mean by this is that the analog sticks work perfectly for games that read them as 4 directional inputs with no amound of directional force and deadzones, but with games that use a camera and need the analog to produce different turning rates depending on how far the stick is pressed, it seems that It will read Left and Down as fine but Right and Up speeds will be around half the speed). This means that yes, the analogs work perfectly fine as wasd movement and other options but lack consistent camera speeds when going in different directions. If anyone knows how to solve this I would love the assistance as nothin I change in the applications seems to work and I would love to use a controller on some old classics like Rayman 3: Hoodlum Havoc and the like.

For anyone having trouble with this note that the controller will NOT pair via USB if its NOT a usb2.0
usb 3.0 will not work.

then when the controller is paired you can plug it into any ubs gen even ports and it will read it.
NOTE: ~(O - o)~
-if you have the cord plugged into your pc then plug it in your controller it will have trouble reading it. Try having it plugged in already then connect it to then pc.
-make sure the controller is up to date via the switches controller updater, and to turn off the switch if your trying to connect it to your pc.
-try plugging into usb hub ports of any sorts, example ones that pug into your keyboard, or just a usb hub.
- try resetting the controller by press n holding the pairing button on the top, shutdown the switch(make sure controller is uptodate),shutdown/restart pc, then w8 for boot up, start steam, go to settings(top left click steam text then select controller),click controller then controller general settings, THEN plug the controller to the pc and if you did not head any system sound well sheaaat idk what to say other and reread everything and try again QWQ
@@derpyshadow447 I connected it to a usb 2.0 port to my pro controller but i dont have the original nintendo usb C connector. Do u think thats the problem?

I plugged it in and hit the sync button. Computer made some sounds. Hit the home button which I think turned my Switch on(?). Waited a little bit could have hit the sync button again but the light was blue so yay.

This video actually serves a good purpose in showing how easy it is to connect a pro controller to the PC. I am actually looking to buy a Pro Controller since I also own a Switch so I want a controller that I can use with both my Switch and my gaming laptop. This video made my decision easy. Great video, one thing it doesn't mention is that to turn off the controller just tap the sync button again. It'll stay added as a device so you just have to hit any button to wake it up like normal and it'll automatically connect to your PC
Not real, i hit the sinc button (not hold) and then i have to do everything back

If you want to pair your Pro controller via Bluetooth, you have to hold down the tiny "Sync" button next to the controller's USB-C socket for 5 or so seconds for it to broadcast itself and show up on "Looking for devices" menus.
I watched at least three vids until I realized nobody mentions the sync button because they probably did it three years ago and forgot.

So do you have to pair it each time you want to play? Do you have to unpair it after you're done playing or can you keep it paired and can get it connected again after you turn off the controller? If I turn off my controller by pressing the sync button, Steam won't detect it again even though windows' setting menu has recognized it as connected

i have it plugged in (not the one that nintendo made since i lost that) and the blue light turns on for about a couple of seconds then it turns off same with the green light on the bottom

Big caveat with either method is simply that native pro controller support is limited to Steam and that platform. Attempting to use the controller for anything outside of Steam will not work, which is a huge shame since I also have a sizeable GoG library and play on certain emulators.
If you run the games through steam you can keep the controller support. Least it worked for me on a number of non steam games. Was able to play Forza Horizon 4 by running it through steam.

All of you need to go to steam and go to settings > controller and now tick the switch pro setting, and u can edit the binds from there

if you are using a pro controller the game has to be able to have a pro controller connected, steam works with it to open steam connect with a wire and then press home and it should open steam.

My Pro controller connects fine over Bluetooth the first time, but I have to remove the device and re-add it every time I want to play. It won't simply reconnect. Any thoughts on that?

dude when I try the wireless method my pro controllers lights don't stop going back and forth even tho it says it's connected and that stops me from being able to use the controller at all, do you have any idea on how to fix this

go to steam big picture mode. then settings, then controller settings, then turn on switch pro configuration support, then exit big picture mode and it should work. atleast it did for me

Can someone help me omg this is happening to me and I’m about to lose it it’s saying it’s connected but Steam isn’t recognizing it and it’s because the pro controller isn’t fully connected but idk what else to do and I’m about to go crazy.

Lol, you have to remove it from the bluetooth devices and than reconnect it. You have to do this every time you disconnect the controller.

FOR PC USERS HAVING TROUBLE:
Try plugging it into the USB ports at the back of your pc where the rest of your cables are.
My controller originally didn't connect to the USB ports at the front of my pc but worked when I plugged it into a USB port at the back of my pc.

Don't play fortnite, the community is the worst of all communities. And yeah it's a dead and a shit game. Play good games like BOTW, RDR2 etc...
@@yunobog7525 1) it's not ded. 2) don't tell him what to play 3) he may not be into single player games 4) the community is a lot better than the R6S and overwatch community, although those games are generally better imo 5) he may be really good at the game and players are earning millions by playing it, which is a lot more than u see any other pro communities get
