- Short tutorial covering how to connect your Nintendo Joycon & Pro controllers to your Windows 10 PC via Bluetooth. This method works for just about any bluetooth device, so long as your computer has a bluetooth receiver installed.
This tutorial is designed to illustrate how to connect bluetooth devices on Windows 10 PC. However it should be noted that this works for any system including Mac & Linux. So long as your system supports bluetooth devices this should work in similar fashion.

Joy-Con (R) sync'd for a few seconds before disconnecting its self and is now acting as un-discoverable, even though I'm repeating the same steps to sync it originally.

im able to add device with Bluetooth but it won't stay "connected", it's listed as "paired". This coincides with the joycon lights continuously flashing in a sequence. The only way I can get the controllers to work is by keeping them connected with the cord via the usb port but at some point after some days/weeks the controllers stop working and says "driver error" (I'm assuming because of mechanical damage since im constantly handling them with the usb cord plugged in)
Same, I have no idea why it keeps doing that. Have you found a solution?
@@inkbean4826 its because theyre off brand controllers i realized. if you get real switch controller shouldnt have that issue

Got my joy cons hooked up, but it seems like they don't know how to interact with complex games like portal or portal 2. So yep, agreeable content I just need to get my self a pro switch controller and maybe that should help with that.
because they didnt program portal or portal 2 to be used by a switch controller cuz they came b4 the switch

thank you so much for the tutorial! i started using citra today because my 2ds isn't working properly anymore and i don't see the point in buying a new one when i can just use an emulator. for a moment there i thought i'd have to go out and buy a pro controller only for that, because none of the tutorials i watched for it mentioned joycons, so i'm really glad to know that they work just fine

Nope. I did one last test before making this video and no luck. Also managed to fuck up my Xbox One Controller driver and had to fix that lol.

So I'm planning to use my joycons as motion controllers for VR, my computer does not have built-in Bluetooth however, so if I buy a universal Bluetooth adapter usb plug-in, could my joycons connect to that as two different controllers? Or would I need 2 adapters, one for each controller

Just use Joy To Key for windows. Or if your using linux then driver will treat them as one.

I have bluetooth on my pc, but the joycons aren't showing up. I have tried several times with both, making the lights flash but when i go try to add a device and select bluetooth, they dont appear.

Well, I know this video was created in 2017, but my left joy-con is connected, but the right joy-con is not detected by my laptop, is there any way to fix this problem.

For some reason the bluetooth list doesn’t show the words “joycon”
It might read out as a wireless controller. SOmetimes a generic Bluetooth device.
both of my joyons only just do the flashing lights up and down even i connected them whats the problem?

I'm tryin to play destiny 2 on steam. My rock candy wired controllers trigger won't work, and my joycons are discovered by my computer, but don't work IN GAME... they're calibrated and register. Just don't work in game for some reason

1:23 there is no bluetooth button.
That may either mean that your computer doesnt have Bluetooth, or that its not enabled.
Before I go out saying I dont have bluetooth, I want to know where you can enable it.
When you open your computer settings you can go to devices section and see if it allows you to activate it from there. Could just be the button is disabled. If you still dont seem to have the option you can check the device manager menu in windows. You can find it by just typing Device Manager into the windows search bar. This list should show you all the devices plugged into your computer. You should have a bluetooth section. If you dont or its empty, then you need to go buy a bluetooth adapter or a Wifi Card that has bluetooth transmitter built in.
Thank you. I now have confirmed that I do not have a bluetooth. One more question though, are you able to get the adapter from something like gamestop?
I doubt it. I would just order one from Amazon or buy one from bestbuy. You can also use the wireless plug from a bluetooth keyboard or mouse for other devices in a pinch.

Why my joy cons don't appear on the screen
why can’t I see joycons in add a device bro I literally tried everything and I even tried on mobile but they just won’t show up on Bluetooth. I’ve even tried disconnecting the joycons off of the switch and then powering it off, help pls.

Betterjoy been updated. Now you pair two controllers and click the in the window to have them function as a single controller.

i pressed the sl and sr buttons not the ones that put them in pair mode lol

Oh... hey, my PC wants the "PIN" to connect the Pro controller... Do you know what can I do?
Sounds like it wants you to enter your Admin Password/Account pin in order to add the device. This is a security feature to prevent you from accidentally adding a strange bluetooth device to your computer. If you dont have the pin you'll have to ask who ever does to help you.

Edit to add: It looks like Skyrim (SE/AE) works with the Switch controllers.

Maybe. Results vary from person to person. You use the betterjoy driver, and maybe a program like Ds4 windows to map the buttons.

@@ragerul7216 If you use the switch pro controller. DS4 windows supports it. If you use the joycons. You need to pair them with your computer via bluetooth, use the betterjoy program to get them to act as one controller rather than 2, and then use DS4 Windows to map the buttons. Not sure how well they work with Fifa but you can try it.

Well... What if I dont have a bluetooth button or the option to turn it on in the settings?!
Do you have any other bluetooth devices that you use? Like a wireless keyboard or mouse? If not you may not have a bluetooth transmitter in your system. Some dont come with them. The ones I have are either built into my Wifi Card or the plugs I use for my other devices.
You can download a program like Speccy (this is a free program from Piriform, they also make nice defrag and computer file cleaning software) and see what you have plugged into your computer. Then look up your Wifi card and see if it has bluetooth and you just need to enable it. If you do have say a wireless mouse or something you could see if the plug can do double duty for other bluetooth devices. This might also need to be enabled on your computer before you can use it to pair other devices.
Otherwise not much I can do to help. You cant really pair the joycons without bluetooth. Though you could see if you can just plug a pro controller into your computer via usb to pair it if you have one.

That happens on every device I use my joycons on its normal and they would still work with the device ( this includes the Pro Controller )

it keeps thinking that its still syncing even tho i got connected so it wont work
Even when connected to something that isn't a switch the lights that indicate it's in sinking mode will never turn off. They only turn off when you synchronize it with a switch
