- In today’s video I’m going to show you how to connect a Nintendo Switch Pro Controller to your PC. We will be able to use the controller wirelessly through Bluetooth or Wired through the USB cable. The method we are going to be using in this tutorial uses steam to give your controller functionally in game. The Steam method works best when playing steam games, but it also works for non-steam games. However, it can become a little finicky, so I will make another video with a better method of using the Switch Pro controller on a PC with non-steam games.

Selecting the “use Nintendo button layout” option actually made the buttons in the game swap but when I turned it off they went back to normal. It’s so weird. Some games do that and some don’t, so just make sure to check those settings just incase.

Why does the lights on mine keep going left and right after being connected to the pc through bluettoth? It works perfectly, but they just keep on going.
question im in the market for a new controller and I want one that works for both PC & Switch. I know the Pro controller is the go to, but I don't like the triggers of switch pro controller. Was hoping I could use the Xbox one controller. Any other good recommendations?

What about the controller that comes with the OLED? Can I just use my own wire?
I've tried connecting mine both wirelessly and with a USB wire, but the lights never show the "player 1" mode. It just keeps showing the syncing mode. What's even weirder is that my laptop says that it's connected during both methods. I don't know what I'm doing wrong...

I have a problem with the 8Bitdo Ultimate Controller (Bluetooth) I have. It comes with a little 2.4 dongle and it works, it just stops my internet, like it interferes with my network bandwidth, which is also 2.4Ghz. (I was told by friends at work that it shouldn't be interfering at all)
Trying to use Bluetooth with my PC also does this, but the controller is working perfectly with Switch in Bluetooth mode. The only way for me to use the controller on PC with no problems is with the wire that comes with it, and I don't really want to use it like that since I already have a wired controller in my room that was for an Xbox.
I have the same problem. I can link it via bluetooth in the settings but the blue light does not go on and the controller is not connected. No problems when connected via wire. I would like to use that controller when playing on my tv.
Thank you. The controller worked fine but I ran into an issue. I can't seem to figure out how to get the controller vibration activated. I've turned it on in the game and from Steam but still doesn't work. Note it's a none stram game. Please help!

I have a wireless controller that doesn't look like the one you have, but its still a switch controller and it wont show up on Bluetooth devices. Is this because on the box it only says that it "Works with oled, normal, and lite"?
I have an afterglow wave wireless controller switch and i did everything that you said however when i go to stream controller settings it doesn’t show general controller and nor does it say my device why is that happening?

I have my pro controller plugged in and it doesn’t get detected by the PC, I removed it from my switch so it doesn’t turn that on by accident and it still doesn’t detect it. I tried the sensory button but that doesn’t work either for me.

Can anybody answer if the bluetooth is on and working while the controller is connecter to a PC via USB cable? Or it only turns on when tryint to pair with a device, using the sync button?
it helps me to connect my controller but just one game doesnt work, roblox, i cant start it with steam unless i press it in the steam app, and when i do that it just downloads roblox again...

Hi there I have a slight problem with connecting it I use a powerA switch controller (wireless) and it did work for connecting in the windows Bluetooth but in steam it did not detect my controller. It would really help if you can help with this

My Controller gets recognized by my PC, but not by Steam when it's connected via Cable. When i connect it via Bluetooth, it gets recognized by Steam, but i also have a HUGE input delay ingame..

set up a generic controller on steam i think and use that

This recently just started happening to me as well. There is no blue light on the pro controller when I connect to steam and there is no vibration anymore. It has been driving me crazy trying to fix it for the past couple of days! I'm glad I'm not the only one it happened to.

My Controller is connecting to windows fine and also show the player one button but steam keeps disconnecting and reconecting t the controller.
my wired controller was perfectly fine before, now suddenly my computer doesn't detect it at all. no, the wire and usb port are not faulty because they both work with other things. it is specifically the pro controller (which worked perfectly fine a few days ago, mind you). I hate using wireless as the only option because it disconnects and/or has extreme input delay and it's beyond infuriating.

iv got a big problem with wired connection, there is no orange light. my controller doesnt connect inventho its plugged in. my pc doesnt have bluetooth so its the only way
Is there a tutorial for the cabled/wired version of the controller my pc doesn’t have a Bluetooth built in. I also prefer wired on pc to avoid input lag or other issues like controller going to sleep mode/disconnecting.
