I absolutely love this controller my joycon broke (drift) and I'm playing the re-released paper mario thousand year door (I played the original when it first came out way back when) and I didn't want to stop playing it so grabbed this for myself just because of the color changing bit
IDK if anyone has said it already but to program the back buttons you just have to hold the button and press the bottom triangle. once its flashing just select what button function you want it to match

I do own two budget controllers, but I thought the additional flippers at the back can come in handy. So I bought the PDP controller in purple, but after playing for about 15 minutes it lost connection with the Switch and not long after the Switch froze and this never happened before. I will try to play with it today and if I still experience issues I will definitely return it. For EUR 60,00 it's not worth it certainly not if my budget controller of EUR 25,00 doesn't cause any issues...
Are you able to change the button mapping on this controller or does it show up as no able to change button layout? It’s making some games very challenging.
You have to hold the blinking button and then one of the back buttons, you can hold the blinking button and press L or R on the controller, or you can do what he did.
I saw it paired to the Switch fairly easily. Does it reconnect quickly and without hassle on subsequent uses? A lot of third party controllers take FOREVER to get detected by the Switch, and I find that annoying when handing people controllers for multiplayer games.
Just got mine today! The "instructions" was annoying haha. The controller itself is nice and sleek though. Thank you for figuring it out because I was at a loss. The code doesnt even take you to a useful site
hello. in your opinion, does the wireless afterglow have motion controls? i was trying to play mario kart and i cannot shake the controller to get the jump boosts. ALSO, no idea how to program the back buttons so that i can see behind in a race. any advice?
This did not have any motion controls. A lot of third party controllers don't have it. I think I covered how to program the back buttons in the video. If not, you hold the program, press the back button you want programmed and then press the button you want programmed to it.
I know it’s a new controller, but try conditioning the battery like you would a cellphone. Fully charge it then use it until it totally dies. Then charge it fully then one more time use it until it fully dies. Then fully charge it again. That will probably help. My question for you is did you fully charge it when you bought it? If not, that is your issue.

I've got a question : can the controller itself turn the switch on/pull it out of standby mode with a certain button or do you have to turn it on yourself and then sinc the controller to start playing ? @redbandanagaming I need help trouble shooting an issue with this controller. I bought this controller yesterday same color and wireless on Super Mario 3D, on World 2-2 the section were you need to click on R button followed by tilting the remote to move the cursor to click on certain walls to pop them open to be able to climb them Can you try to see if same happens to you? Im only able to tilt the remote using the Joycon controllers. Im not sure if I need to set it up before been able use it for this level in the game all buttons work on the controller its just that part in the game were I can use the function to tilt the controller to move the cursor.
I just bought this to play on pc as well. Connected it over bluetooth and then set it up in steam so now it works with my steam games! Don't know if it works for all my pc games though.. Only problem is that the leds at the bottom end of the controller dont stop moving. The ones that usually show you if you're connected as player 1 or 2 etc. But it's clearly working so it doesn't matter.
Have you tried using the wire it comes with an connecting it straight to docking station then pair it wirless after ive done this with another that wouldnt pair worked for me
On my white controller the rgb turns off automatically when not being used. On my purple controller it's always on and drains the battery faster. Do you know how to disable this? Thanks for the vid.
Unfortunately not. I haven't seen that issue before. My white one acts just as your white one does. I'm sorry I can't be of any further help with this particular issue.

I have a question, I just bought this controller and when its charging the colorq turn red, so my question is how do i know when its fully charged ? Did it turn Green or somerhing ?
Mine doesnt have motion controls- is it broken?? I got it last weekend and just started using it so I dont know if it's really broken or not. Is it supposed to have motion controls??
I was going through pressing buttons. It went dark with leds, disconnected, now when I resync to the switch only the analog sticks work. All buttons and dpad are non responsive. Literally day 2 out the box.
Hope people that have the controller can answer me this since I'm thinking about gettting one 1. Can you set the peddles on the back to input the D-Pad (up and down) or does it only work for Buttons? 2. Does the Controller remember the saved peddle setting? (since the wired one does not) Thanks in advance
No for either. If you had the Xbox version that uses the app, it would have more features, but since there isn't one, the feature set is rather limited. Every time I turn of my Switch, the colors even reset too.

There are full instructions, but you have to use the QR code on the back of the box, not the one on the included pamphlet.
My phone won’t register it as a QR code ‘cause it’s so small.
If you scan the code and go into the website, this is listed under the title of controllers as Afterglow Wave Wireless controller for Nintendo Switch.

You can get them at some game stores, but I usually get them Amazon.
You can actually change the light color to white by holding the program button and pressing down on the left stick.
It's Dec 30 right now and they still don't have it on the website

Can someone please help me? When I’m playing this the color pulses no solid colors. And it’s not long before I have to charge it again.
I would think the pulsating color would be less of a drain on the battery. That’s odd.

No pc compatibility out of the box. It's only for the Switch.
