For some time now, i've been trying to search for a video tutorial on how to use my ps4 controller on my laptop without having to use a usb cable to play 2k20 via steam but haven't found any that helped until today. Thank u for this, man! This is really helpful!
Wow! That was super easy! Just got myself a new laptop (for photo editing purposes so a big boost in ram). Been wanting to play a couple games that are only available on Steam so it's cool to see how easy it is to connect a PS4 controller and also that Steam has configurations for the PS4 controller!
Something to note is that I'm pretty sure regular micro USB cables aren't going to work, they need to support data transfer. They use the same connection as micro USB cables and still work to power things, but only data transfer ones will work for connecting controllers.

I did everything you said it connected on my computer and steam but the controller doesn't work in old games like Star wars Battlefront 2 (2005) and alien Vs Predator (2010).. what should I do to make them work with my PS4 controller?
unfortunately, some games just aren't compatible with ps4 controllers. Bc most games are licensed by Microsoft aka Xbox. but i could be wrong, always screw around with settings

There is two types of cables - you need one with data and charging. Ones for smart phones should work.
