- A Quick and Easy tutorial on how to Connect your Nintendo Pro Controller to your Windows PC with DS4 Windows. Just connect it to your Windows PC with either USB Cable or Bluetooth Connection, download DS4 Windows, Install it, Run it, and you should be good to go!

Thank you so much! I don't usually comment but I felt I had to for this, I had been trying to get the controller working for hours with steam, however with this video I got it working in less than 10 minutes with no problems, an absolute life saver! :)
for those unable to detect any controller go to settings > device options and check all controller support
click stop and start again

my pro controller shows up but every button I press makes the 4 lights in front go back and forth knightrider style and it never settles on 1 light. it doesn't work.

I got a strange problem. First of all, my controller appears on windows as Lic Pro Controller instead of only Pro controller and, when I launch DS4 , it doesn't appear conected. Can anyone help me?

did everything and im using a wireless controller with a direct input into my pc, i dont have a runtime error but my switch controllers wont connect at all

You can try using a other usb-c cable, for example your phones charging cable (works for me) and put that into your controller
@@phil-jh4qq i did that, my deskmic uses a c-cable and i got no input but it would receive power and charge normally. i think newer versions fixed my issue tho

Can you bind the gyro of the pro controller to the right joystick? Does not seem to work on mine...
I have 2 different pro controllers, one is the typical pro controller and the other one isnt original. In windows unofficial one is called "Lic Pro Controller", this one doesnt work. Only original controllers will work

Hello, does this also works on other controllers that are not pro controllers but are compatible with switch? (Like the T23 pro controller), cuz i needed a controller that has gyroscope and cheap
Officially it only works with the switch pro controller from Nintendo. But if the other one is basically just a Nintendo switch pro controller and works the same way it might. But I can't promise anything

Thanks for the tutorial but I have a weird problem. I connected my pro controller to ds4windows and it worked but for some reason, it keeps spamming the up button/left stick up and i don't know why. I took a look at the binds in ds4windows but I have no idea what I can do about it. I would be really happy if you could answer me!
im not sure. About all I can suggest is try disconnecting the controller and setting it back up again and see if it persists.

If i use USB everything work perfectly, if i conect via bluetooth with this method, my controller goes beserk, i think is the gyro, the camera in games goes round and round.

Turn on Cemu and see. It should read by default as an Xbox COntroller when using DS4 Windows. Thats how the program works. It pretends its an Xbox Controller nad uses the built in drivers to function.

you might need to a) connect it to your switch if you have one, then go to settings and manually disconnect it from your switch. b) look up the process to factory reset the pro controller. Then try the process again.
Is there another program for the pro controller adapt into a xbox controller for Xbox games instead of PlayStation?
DS4 Windows Supports the pro Controller. But because most games dont directly support it, drivers that pretend its an Xbox Controller is about all you're gonna get in the best case scenario. Steam in a handful of cases can display the Pro Controller buttons on screen when you use Its Built-In drivers. But not all the time.
You can switch it to emulate xbox
Pretty good video, great tutorial. But I did everything you mentioned even up to the point of downloading Steam because my Switch pro controller still doesn't connect. I am playing Dragon Age Inquisition which does support a controller because I went into the game settings and it said game pad. So I am assuming game pad means controller? I may have to google this maybe it only supports generic controllers? Have you ran into issues with certain types of games with the pro controller or is it just me? thank you!!
Gamepads are generic controllers. Ones you buy that arent typically associated with a specific games console. Some of them have their own drivers. Some of them dont.
Controllers used to be a lot more generic and based off the same technology. These days all the major console makers and their controllers are specialty stuff in them. So unless they themselves release drivers, its sorta like figuring out things blind for these driver makers.
In the case of DS4 Windows, it functions by telling Windows other controllers are Xbox Controllers. Because those drivers are built into Windows and are known pretty well.
Its worth noting that out of the box DS4 Windows now asks you what controllers you are using. It does this in a pop up window when you first start the software. Make sure you select to enable Nintendo pro controllers.
The games you play will display xbox buttons. There's not really a good way around this. If the game could display the buttons on other controllers that would mean that it had support for that controller in the first place. Meaning you wouldnt need DS4 Windows.
@@ChupacabraTutorials Yea thank you I down loaded the DS4 Windows tried that, and tried steam. The eventually I got it to run but the set up isn't the greatest. BUT I managed to set up my keyboard and mouse where it is now manageable. I miss the old days when we played Diablo 1 and 2 on PC and all you needed was your keyboard for simple functionality and you even didn't need to log into a cloud server to play. You could create your own local server and your friends could join you. Well thank you for the assist. I am getting old and it gets harder to figure out. I appreciate you showing me these new tricks.

I tried the bluetooth pairing but the lights aren't flashing idk what I'm doing wrong?
it took me a couple tries to get mine to behave the first time I connected it to my pc. Same with the joycons. If it doesnt wanna behave you can always just plug it in.

it only reads L2 and R2.. I wanted to test it with Rocket League, but its not steering or anything (when used Steam), sadly Ds4windows doesnt help me at all..

I installed the .NET Framework 6.0.8 but every time I start DS4 Windoes, it tells me I need to install .NET Framework
its a bug. You may need to backdate to 5.0.1 SDK version and see if that helps.

Yeah. It would be nice when making these guides if the developer would put in more direct support for each controller you have setup. But sadly, no.
Does this work with custom pro controllers, such as PowerA? I have the SM64 inspired controller, looks kinda like a gamecube. I will edit if i did it successfully, and if not, it will be unedited. Please our any special things i need to do for an off brand controller like this, if it's possible.
It has support for generic controllers so it might work with the most basic controls of custom controllers, but it may not be able to utilize any advanced features that they advertise. I don't know because I don't own these controllers nor do I have any intention of buying them. So you're just going to have to test it and see.

Weird. Best I can recommend is hard reset the controller and see if that help.

Idk this is legit video or not....even ps5 controller wont pair with ds4 windows until u enable chk box from enable dual sense....there's no such options for switch pro controller....🤔 ...i bet its have less possibilities of pairing to work i guess...haha 😅
Well in DS4 Windows you have to specifcally enable the feature now. Im not sure if its shown in this video or not. I had to redo a few because of that change. I have a video that shows how to enable support for other controllers here: ruclips.net/video/Sq7azItCBdk/видео.html

How to connect ds3....I never know there's such option..but it won't work....any videos u have? Normally ds3 won't connect due to pin key...idk what it is...

Ds4 defaults to 4ms but you can set it to 1

I dont remember if this particular iteration of the tutorial has info about it. But they changed how DS4 windows works to require you to enable secondary Controller types. In the settings tab, on the right hand side is a button that brings that panel up. There you can toggle on/off other controllers. Including the Pro Controller. Good day! I'm stuck on launching DS4Windows. Whenever I try to, I get a Dialogue Box saying I must install .NET. "The framework 'Microsoft.WondowsDesktop.App', version 5.0.0. was not found. I tried to download and install it from your link and from the prompt the popup box provides, but it still doesn't seem to work. Any tips?
It's a bug. You need to uninstall .net and download version 5.0.0 not the latest one.

@@luke2412 I cant suggest much else to fix it. You could try manually uninstalling .NET before installing 5.0.0.
Or just trying to fresh install the latest version instead.
