It cost me $159 with 4 bottle kit and gun. I had tape and drop cloths. Bought some etching spray from HF. It took 1.25 hours to prep including going to the store to get a wire wheel(they nylon ones took forever). Spraying was around 20 minutes each coat x2. The cheapest I found around Philadelphia was $650 and it would be 2 days in their shop. I love how it came out AND I saved almost $500 bucks. Now all my buddies want me to do theirs.
hell yeh brother!
You crushed that. Definitely not fun but so worth it.
thanks mate! no it isn't a small fun job, but definitely rewarding!
What sprayer are you using?
@@AkumaQiu it's called a shultz gun!
I'm about to paint a whole ass RV with it. I'm nervous
How did it go? Wanting do a van
@boocatdog it went really well, it has a very modern look, and is an easy fix to an ugly vehicle
By chance are you on meth?
Me too
Wash the bed with Dawn let it dry. Wire wheel on a grinder (buy 2), staying away from edges. Sand as you would by your hard line. I apply Primer sealer first.
Great tips!
@@AdventureNyou as well. Good on you for doing it yourself. The factory jobs aren’t even sanded before they do this, and you did a much better prep job than line-X.
Defo primer indeed
My 2nd gen is a 6ft bed. Do you think I could get away with 2 cans???
I think it would be possible. but would be a very light coats
I want to do the roof of my camper but not sure how it will bound to the roof now.
Doesn't it rub off with minimal use ?
no it doesn't, it's a very durable tuff coating
Roll-on is where its at. Just ask project farm
Gonna do this in June on my 95 tacoma
Get it done professionally trust me
Excellent! I also set myself up for June to line my entire F-150 although I pushed the start until today. Will be done with the paint project by July 4th
@@JayGBee let me pull 400 bucks out of my asshole.
@@sostrongineedmoreofyourmon974 nice bruv. I haven’t gotten to it but I will very soon
Nice work! How many bottles did you use?
The kit came with 4, I used 3. 2 got a coat on everything but the third I went extra thick on the base of the tub
@@AdventureNthanks for the reply! I’m about to coat my bumpers with raptor. Great video. 🤙
What psi do you recommend for this. I see the instructions say 50-60. I just want to know what you use. Look great by the way.
It kind of depends on what texture you desire. The higher the psi you will tend to get finer/flatter texture whereas with the lower range you tend to get a rougher/chunkier texture.
Today, I sprayed my vehicle plastic trims at 55 psi (with the raptor shutz gun) and got a decently rough texture which is what I was going for. I plan on doing the same for the entire bed tomorrow, but when I raptor the exterior of my truck I know I’m going to go for 70 psi (depending on what my test sprays give me at that setting that day)
How many quarts
do you make 2nd layer after the first one dries out
yes about 30mins dry time between the first and second layer
How nany cans do you recommend the kit with four cans, i have a 5.8. Short bed from chevy silverado.
The thicker the better, this kit was 4 and I any used 3 from memory. Our Ute tub / beds over here in Australia are much smaller so I’d say 4
Roughly what was the total amount of time it took from prep to spray the second coat?
oooo good question....I really didn't make a mental note of it. Prep certainly took the longest. Spraying the easiest. Id say about 4-5hrs for prep. Then 2hrs for spray. All a gestimation
@@AdventureN woah, you went hard on the prerp. Thanks for the info
preperation is the key to any paint job, plus I didn't want to get any paint on the new car!@@bensmith9175
How big of a compressor do you need
To be honest I'd have no idea, something that can do a consistent 50 PSI.
I guess the bigger the holding tank the better!
With the price of this stuff it’s not worth doing it yourself you can get bullet liner done for 550
Whilst this is a fair comment, its more fun and having that personal satisfaction of doing a DIY project. The ability to put your hands on your hips and amire your handy work is something else in my honest opinion 😃

Toff
'promosm' 😅
Not worth all the time, effort and materials when you can get it professionally done with a warranty for around $300
Where the hell are you getting a spray in bed liner for $300? The local crackhead?
Dont waste your time on this shyt in 20 years its going to look like azz and to restore it its a fukn pain
I certainly won't have this tub for 20 years, that's for sure!
@adventuren how streaky did it come out?
no streaks at all, just have to overlap your sprays abit
