I just installed 1.25" Spidertrax wheel adapters / spacers on my 2021 Toyota Tacoma TRD Sport
I was worried that there would be some rubbing of the fender wells since I have 265/70/17 BFG's on stock rims as opposed to the factory tire size of 265/65/17. Given that I have already removed the air dam (who hasn't?) I'm happy to report that there is no rubbing! However, clearance is VERY minimal and will likely not be sufficient if your a frequent off-roader. Otherwise, if your mostly street like myself. You should be just fine.

My '20 trd offroad came with 265/70/16 tires. Your video cleared up if I would rub or not.

Thanks for all the info I was debating whether to go 1.25 or 1.5 spacers. Seeing the 1.25 on your truck allows me to get a better idea of what I want. I think I will go with the 1.5. Spacers.
Yeah you’ll like the 1.5’s I bet. Mine are ok, but wind up a bit too subtle over time..
@@WesleyAllenNC Are 1.5 more "risky per say for the vehicle overall, there's another channel that says you typically do not want to go past 1.25 on spacers. the guy talks a lot in the video but here's the link. what's your opinion?

@NcScratchOffMembersForum I'm not going to be doing anything crazy with my truck. 2019 4c Tacoma. I just got ko/2 all terrain tires and would like to get Rid of that stock look since I have nice (not stock tires) it's a daily driver down in Florida. No off road.

Nice. But, how do I know which ones to get that will get me the offset I’m looking for? I’m running 285/75/16 and at +4. I wanna get to a -25 offset

I’d like to ask what is the max weight capacity of your Floor Jack and Jack Stand?
My rotor rotates with the spacer 😂 my front wheels are already off and the spacer is just needing to get torqued but the rotor spins anyway. Hand brake and Park is engaged
With both tires already off the ground you’ll likely need to have someone hold the brake pedal for you during the final torque..
@@WesleyAllenNC i ended up settling the torque wrench between the lug studs and it seemed to work
@@WesleyAllenNC do one side at a time so one wheel is on the ground or yes, have a person in the truck holding the brake
What kind of torque wrench do you have?
I ordered some cheap amazon spacers and my studs seem too short for the new nuts 😠

I bought the same spacers for my truck do you not need the extended lug nuts I saw a video where someone says u need it so im unsure
I have stock wheels and did not need any sort of extended lugs
Is there a noticeable change to the truck drivability and suspension roughness or something thing similar? I have the same truck stock wheel and tires just want a bit of a stance to the oem ones. This might be my solution but I don't want to sacrifice ride and comfort over looks. Just curious. By the way awsome truck!.. 😎
Thanks for the comment. No, I haven't experienced any trade-off in ride quality after installation. I'm still running my Spidertrax without issue. I'm about to go in for my 5,000 mile vehicle check in the next couple of weeks, I'm curious to see what they say about them being installed if anything.. Also there's a link in the description for them if your looking to purchase a set. (They come in a box of 2.)

@@samuelcruz2665 they didn’t even mention it. I told the service lady about them and asked to have the technician check the toque on them while they were at it. I was never asked about them at all..

I have a 2020 tacoma sport (2wd) it has rear drum brakes, would these spacers/adapter work for them? Do you have rear drum brakes as well?
Yes. I have drum brakes and they work perfectly. They bolt onto the wheel studs that your wheel lug nuts attach to..
I was thinking of getting these wheel spacers for my tacoma. Have you had any issues with them like wheel bearings or ball joints wearing out prematurely? That seem to be the main argument all over the internet about wheel spacers
I haven’t, but I actually just sold this truck about a month ago. It only had around 30,000 miles.
About to install my 2inch spacer on my 2019 trd sport on stock wheels tires and suspension wish me luck because it the first time ever I installed anything on a truck or anything myself
Good luck! It’s pretty simple as long as you follow the instructions.. there’s a chance you might rub your front tires at full turn.. let us know!
@@WesleyAllenNC just finished install the 2 inch wheels spacers and still got lot of room now might upgrade my tires from 265/65/17 to 270/70/17 if they have them size

I really dont see why they dont just sell them in a complete set of 4. I almost ordered some and then realized i was gonna have to double that price. Kinda crappy that they do that. Who would ever beed just 2?

It’s hard for me to say for sure. Are you already rubbing the fenders at all? It seems like it would work but you may be better off asking a larger audience in a Facebook group. There’s a few 3rd generation Tacoma groups out there
Did you have to get wheel alignment after installing the spacers?
Yes for sure. I made sure to have an appointment scheduled prior to installing these spacers. They will wear tote front tires out quickly without an alignment
What did you use to avoid the front tires from spinning when you're tighten the wheels adapter ?
If I recall, I had someone hold the brake pedal while i torqued them down.
Put it in 4wd
I took a board long enough to wedge the brake pedal.
Is there still any minor rubbing with the leveling kit you have now?
Not at all. It’s barely rubbed before
What leveling kit are you using?
I put on 275 70 R 17 on my 22 Tacoma. The tire when I make tight turns rubs against the control arm. I was told if I put a one inch space around. It will rub against the wheel. Well, what can I do? Thank you.
I can't believe you won't level it instead of cut into it that makes no sense to me but you might like the stock rake I don't anyways nice looking truck I just ordered some spidertrax myself for my 4Runner can't wait to get em
I have another short video showing my leveling kit. I did 2” front 1” rear and it looks really good. I’ve had it in for a few months now.

No, not for wheel spacers. But if you lift your truck in any way, for sure

No I just ran it like it was. Later I added a 2” front spacer and a 1” rear. I have a video showing those as well
Do they have for 5 lug 4cilinder 2000?
I'm honestly unsure. Id have to do some searching around to see.

@@WesleyAllenNC I am always think about to add that wheel spacers on my tacoma, but few people warned me about wheel bearing probs.
Did the nuts even touch the loctite?
?? Why 90 the torq is 83 , why nobody put 1.5 spacers.
@ecruz2987 if you watch video again. I think he said 90 is for the Spacer torque. Yes your Wheel torque might be 83. Just double check your torque so it doesn't pass you while your driving down the road 😂
How much did your fuel economy drop?
Sorry, We didn’t think to calculate that. The truck was pretty new when the Spidertracks were installed..
@@WesleyAllenNC I installed a set yesterday on my 2022 off road. Went from under 15L/100km to 17L/100km.
This is a nice video, but it's a TORQUE wrench not a TORX wrench. Looking good on your truck.

No I never wound up having to cut or trim anything.

Does that affect gas mileage? Yeah I know it’s a stupid question but I want to ask anyways.
Not that I’ve noticed, but I can’t say for 100% certain
