      What are your thoughts on applying antiseize between the hub and the back of the wheel spacers? I have seen them done both ways, unsure what is recommended. Thanks in advance!

    I'm like you. I'm super paranoid when adding mods move or roll😂I actually installed a set earlier today and wanted to watch your video before bed to make sure I didn't it correctly. That's how paranoid I am lol.
    Btw, I did it correctly, took my time. Used the red loctite and TQ it down to 90lbs. Went around the block just to make sure then parked it. Being paranoid, I decided to wait 24hrs to let the red loctite to cure before I daily it to work and with the family. Thanks so much for the peace of mind with your great video.

  • @dvs_15gt74

    For the front, you can usually slide a flat head through the middle slots of the rotor at the top of the caliper and it’ll hold enough to torque the bolts down.

    Just FYI the bevel on the lug nuts is not what makes it hubcentric. The center section of the spacer being precisely the same size as the hub makes it hubcentric. The beveled lugs do however make it LUGcentric

  • @HT7980
    @HT7980 2 года назад +7

    For the front, if you turn the vehicles power on then activate your 4wd the front hubs won’t move allowing you to tighten the nuts if you’re doing the job alone.

    Good video. Keep in mind that "appearance wise" and "aesthetics" mean the same thing.also you refer to the lug nuts as making the spacers hub centric and that's wrong. The bore opening of the spacer sits flush with the hub and the spacer is centered by the hub. When conical lug nuts center a spacer or wheel it's called lug centric. Great truck.

    Thinking about getting wheel spacers... just had a few questions if you don't mind answering.
    1.Why should I not use an impact drill?
    2. I'm not exactly sure what the torque specs mean, so how do you set that?
    3.Are there any particular torque specs for the actual spacer?
    4. How often should you take the wheel off and tighten the spacer?

    Great video and demonstration on how to install those spacers!!! 👍👍👍 One question I have if I may ask, honestly how safe are those spacers for TOYOTA 4RUNNERS in the long run and do they void any kind of manufacturer warranty as far as brakeing system, suspension, or anything that they might affect by using them??? Do you have to get a new alignment on all 4wheels since you are tampering with the offset of each wheel by 1 1/4 of an inch like you mentioned in the beginning of this video??? I thought about putting some on my 2012 4RUNNER, but I'm not sure on the safety aspect of the spacers themselves in the long run by using them on my 4RUNNER!!!

    • @TRDJon
      @TRDJon  5 лет назад

      Lots of people have ran these and very very very few have had issues. Basically make sure you install to a T per instructions. And it shouldn’t void the warranty. Unless they can prove the spacer was the reason something went bad.

      @@TRDJon well here I am I just got my spidertrax spacers going to do my 5k and rotate tires and install these bad boys I mite push my frount plastic finder gard thing forward when I’m down there just to make sure nothing rubs I think and then all be ready for bigger tires and lift here in near future 😃 I also want 285’s I’m thinking 285/75/17 I’ve seen it I like it I think it gives it alittle more lift I really like more tire to rim hopefully I can make that happen soon. Again thank you for the great info really enjoy your video’s.

    Hey Jon, how are you? Just wanna ask, do you still have the stock tire on your TRD? Are planning to install a bigger tire like 33"? I have Toyota 4runner TRD pro and I am planning to put 33" on it. I wanted to know if i need to make modification to anything like shocks. Maybe you can make a video about Toyota TRD on 33" that will be nice.

    I have a question if anyone can answer.
    I am thinking of going wider on wheels too. But my concern is how dos the wheels clear when they tuck in, when you off road over the bumps, wouldn't the tires hit your fender flair when your suspension flex???

    • @TRDJon
      @TRDJon  3 года назад

      depends on the offset of the tires as well.
