I"ve seen some really bad front end damage from using those stock lash down points...when over-stressed. Everyone does it and it can be a very costly mistake! Please keep up the great work!
Wrong....That is the actual recovery ring...Which is where you are suppose to recover a vehicle from. They are made to break...SOOOOOOO you don't damage the vehicle.
@@statintl Wrong! They're considered emergency towing points(not as snatch points or get my truck out of the mud points), tie-downs, and for transport hooks. Just because they have a nut and it's also welded doesn't make it a recovery point. They're meant to handle the shifting weight, while tied down on a ship at a 45-60 degree angle from the deck eyelets, with either chains or cloth straps. The same goes for road transporting, either from the harbor to the dealer or on a towing flatbed.
For the pedal commander, when you go into 4-low also put the pedal commander into economy mode. This helps greatly with the lesser throttle response needed in 4-low.
Full interior LED was the first thing I did to my '18. Especially useful for the hatch lights in my opinion. I do a lot of backpacking and would sometimes come home after sundown and have to remove various things from my hatch/trunk. The halogens are decent, but they also just seem dated. LED really lights up everything so well. I just wish my model came with LED headlights since apparently doing a simple bulb swap isn't ideal because the light housings are essentially tuned for the factory halogens. Could retrofit a newer model LED housing to my '18, but then it gets exponentially more pricey to go the OEM route.
Hey man, just checking on the Pedal Commander, do you stilm use it? I went for the Banks Power Pedal Monster, same price and super good throttle response. I would assume the same performance as a Pedal Commander but with fail safes, under 10mph shutoff and reverse shutoff. Nice video man.

I'll never get a pedal commander for I'm not in a hurry to get to wherever I'm going. I tend to enjoy the ride getting to my destination. The 4runner will still get you up to speed on the highway.
I went to their website and watched their installation video for the 4Runner and they meant to say "harness" but the video said "harnest" that plus you have to run it inline from your PCM to the OBDII. One thing I know not to do to a modern car is have an aftermarket module sit in between those connectors
Hey, Jon. I’m a fellow Florida resident planning on getting my first 4Runner (when the car craziness calms down). What are your thoughts on the sliding rear cargo deck? Worth getting? I see that you have one. Would you get it again?
Just bought a 2015 4Runner Trail with 200k miles, runs great *knock on wood*. First purchase was a center console insert safe. Bolts right in there, and is a fantastic addition if you travel with cash or carry a gun and can't go into the bank or Post Office while carrying; just lock it up with any other valuables, nice and secure.
Rock sliders!! Even if you never off-road. They can shield your 4Runner from parking lot door dings, and they can save you or your passenger’s life if you are T-boned hard by someone. They can also act as steppers, although they won’t be as good in that function as running boards would be (running boards are specifically for steppers, so they’re positioned better/lower for that function…but rock sliders are still ok as steppers).
Great share! Quick question ... what PSI do you recommend that I run my KO2 265 tires at? can I air them down for off-road (if so), to what PSI? Many Thanks!
Not sure, whatever they recommend you run it at. Every tire/ply is different. As for off road, i'd do it based on the terrain. Not that low though and only air down if needed.
Thank you! The dealership, over the phone, said 50+ psi for the KO2 265 and that sounded way too high to me when people say they air down to mid 20's from high 30's on many postings. I think the guy is wrong, but that is why I reached out to people that know the tire.
I need some advice, I’m stuck between getting a Tacoma and a 4Runner, I enjoy hiking, biking and going on road trips , the biggest deciding factor for me is interior space and cargo room, just thought I’d ask someone and get there thoughts from it, just been having some trouble deciding what will be best for me, also just fyi I am a 19 year old , so I don’t have any kids to hall around I’d just be halling friends as well as a bicycle and everything else id need to hike and go on long road trips and etc.
Thank you for all the mods they are super helpful! My only question is what did you do to the 4runner that you noticed a vast difference for gas mileage? Mine is stock and I'm averaging 16mpg.
- I got a SR5 P in '19, once I'm done with Toyota Care, I'll be putting in a K&N air filter. They gave been in my other two cars since '08 and it add a few mpg's. It's roughly $50 depending on the site, it's a lifetime product, and you clean it every 50k miles with a $12 kit. Highly recommend it. I'd also recommend trying to reset your mpg screen too. Yours sounds low, it might show a bit higher. Mine is 18+. Good luck.
Totally agree with all of those 5, also an honorable mention for a glove box divider/organizer. Helps keep stuff organized and keeps my dash cam battery nicely separated from my owner's manual and other stuff

Here from Australia just subscribers your Chanel, although we don’t have 4Runner in aus.
Still appreciate it!
Extra TRD emblems to put on anything.
Patiently waiting for the 2023 repo-pandemic
Pretty much useless & traps debris underneath
I agree on all of those. Nice!
Thanks! Effective mods for sure
Looking to replace my '07 4Runner and I really, really like this blue!!! Great vid, thanks!
Good choice!
I have a stock 2020 trd pro. If you had to pick between the pedal commander or a cold air intake what would you pick? Both are in same price range
Probably the pedal commander and throw a trd air filter in. But having both is really nice.
2 years ago you bought the truck? How’s it running now and how many miles have you put on it?
I just purchased a 2014 with 100k
#1. Magnuson Supercharger.
Make sure your tint is legal, 5% will get you pulled over and fined in Arkansas.
In Texas, too
How did you change your tail lights to do that bro?
#1 undercoating especially the frame
Dont have this but lets watch it anyway
luv ur vids, i kno ur on point with the trd models, any news on the 2021 4runner trd pro? any new features/updates?
Thanks! None yet unfortunately
Ditch light brackets along with LED pod lights of your choice, wired into one of the switch blanks.
Super spectical ???
No you haven’t gotten anything jack.
I get super spectacul about things too sometimes
Katina Swanson my 05 4x4 stock got 19 mpg, after mods it’s at 16. My 2010 got 18 mpg, it’s kinda funny.
19 TRD ORP, W/ stock Duelers and later w/ Falken Wilpeaks - 17.5 MPG, mostly city. 16 for stock seems low. Heavy foot?
- I got a SR5 P in '19, once I'm done with Toyota Care, I'll be putting in a K&N air filter. They gave been in my other two cars since '08 and it add a few mpg's. It's roughly $50 depending on the site, it's a lifetime product, and you clean it every 50k miles with a $12 kit. Highly recommend it.
I'd also recommend trying to reset your mpg screen too. Yours sounds low, it might show a bit higher. Mine is 18+. Good luck.
Honestly just drive it. I have been good at being easy on the throttle. Also FL is stupid flat so that may help my cause.
Got bigger tires and mileage took a hit. Its worth it. Having mine leveled with bigger tires is worth the slight difference.
Ford just spent billions to copy this truck. They call it Bronco Sport. Coming new this summer and arriving in gated communities everywhere.
You said “spectacle “ 😂😂
Do you think the redesign for 4runner will be better or worse than current model?
Hopefully better in the right ways
Totally agree with all of those 5, also an honorable mention for a glove box divider/organizer. Helps keep stuff organized and keeps my dash cam battery nicely separated from my owner's manual and other stuff
I need to pick me up one.
Definitely comes in handy, only an issue when replacing the cabin filter
Any recommendations for black plastic/vinyl/rubber fender flares that are no bushwhackers (no visible screws or nuts)?
Great video. It is not UV light which heats up, it is IR light. UV light will dammage plastics and leather. Thus alawys use some 303 protectant
I love my 4 runner I got one in cement grey
Hi Jon is it possible you could show how to replace a right front door actuator on. 2017 4Runner limited please . Thank you much appreciated
