Third Story: So, Bard comes just to make fun of the other players, not to actually participate, then retaliates directly against another player immediately when they get called out on their shit, and then as soon as the player they retaliated against retaliates against them, seems to cry to the DM about it. Yeah, OP is the one here that needs thicker skin. Also, shit DM who's clearly friends with Bard; probably brought them in to show them D&D for the first time, but Bard's too cool to think this game could be anything fun and is just there to take the piss out of everyone, including literal children. What a cool guy.
Thank you for sharing behind the scene stuff, I can barely imagine the logistics. It makes to cut back on something because you also want to take care of yourselves and take breaks when needed. Dealing with chronic asthma and Covid related issues myself but you'll be surprised what you just kinda get used to. I hope everything sorts itself out for you Mags! i found this podcast today when i was looking for something to have in the background but then i just ended up watching a bunch of your videos instead. As someone new to d&d and dming (i learned to dm to start playing w my friends that also havent played before) i feel very included listening to this:) some d&d content makes me self concious abt my campaign bc i feel like im not experienced enough but this podcast doesnt make me feel like that at all! Thank you guys for giving me even more d&d content to consume!!
38:04 this part was actually the reason for the longest time I couldn’t watch actual plays with all women players and a male DM. It’s something I’m growing out of, but it’s a shame that when that’s the scenario, people are already on high alert I like the idea of shorter vids, but I also like the long vids cause I listen to them in my drive from work. But! I’d still be listening to them no matter how long the vids are
content creation is a marathron, not a sprint, I love following small creators BECAUSE they are transparent and upfront about their finances often times. Had a dm set up the ranger they were introducing to the group. The player didnt know I had a baby dire bear that I (the druid) had saved 2 sessions previous and found it while waiting for our party to come out of the dungeon we were in. He hunted, killed, and skinned it then started smoking the meat. When my character figured out what happened she was devastated and the ranger offered her the pelt as an apology. Safe to say I left the table soon after due to similar behavior from the dm. The group disbanded 2 months later.
if you need something posted on the channel to appease the algorithm gods, would it make sense to record the twitch streams and cross post them to youtube in post? especially podcast related streams, like homebrew challenge, advice, etc.

I'm sad that there will only be one video a week but totally get it. You guys need some moments to breath. Can't run non-stop! I will say that I often cannot make it to your streams but I love to watch them when I can. Would taking and editing down the highlights of your gaming streams be out of the question?
Obviously the type of pvp in that second horror story gives off rancid vibes but I swear I've played in and DM'd games where the characters are sometimes at odds, and PVP is on the table or broached and it's an addition to the experience NOT a hindrance.

Responding to the first story: my wild magic barbarian turned my greatsword into a thrown weapon, which, combined with reckless attack, makes sneak attack apply....combined with divine smite and a crit made the sneak attack irrelevant but the point stands😂
