    Not into the apex trigger, love the trigger on my bone stock m&p 2.0 9mm.
    As to .45acp i dont see it as difficult to shoot. Ive got 5 .45acp pistols. Imho, they have a push more then a kick. If we were talking about a .40s&w i would say other wise.
    .45acp has a major advantage that no one seems to be talking about. 9mm, .40, .38, .357 ext depend on expanding ammo for their stoping power. .45acp was designed to kill with ball ammo. Now consider the SHTF scenario. Out of the billions of rounds stock pilled in this country, how much of that is high performance, high cost hollowpoint? Id guess that its not much.
    When all the hollow point is shot up(in the first month), all that will be left is ball. Now ask your self this.......if all you could defend your self with was ball ammo, what hand gun would you chose? Most that know anything about handgun ballistics would answer .45acp
    I bought my m&p 2.0 in 9mm just because i wanted to test the platfom in a cheap to shoot caliber. Now that im sold on the gun, ill be upgrading to .45acp.

    The way I see it, if you're stuck in a shitty state and you can only have 10 rounds in the magazine, then you might as well go with a pistol and caliber that works within those limitations. So I'd rather have something like this M&P 2.0 in .45 then 9mm. Cause 9mm would just make me sad that I'm missing 7 rounds for no good reason. lol

      As far as recoil, the 45 definitely has more recoil and report. I have both and there is no doubt about it. My wife notices it more than I do. She's good for a couple of magazines of .45 ACP and that's enough, but will shoot our 9mm pistols all afternoon.

    I own 1st gen M&P's and the new 2.0's. My 1st gens are later first gens or "1.5's" if you will and I've never replaced a trigger in any of them because they function perfectly with practice. As far as those who say "you're buying a gun and replacing the trigger" they are most likely Glock guys who buy their gun and immediately replace their Fisher Price sights.

    Coming from a novice by comparison to you big time gun toters. That ought to be refreshing. We have the old M&P9 compact. It's fun and fits in pocket or purse handily. But I have ALWAYS wanted a .45. I finally got to shoot one some years ago and I noticed two big things. First, since I'm a lousy shot I could actually hit with the thing right off. Second...it pushed. So hearing that from you was confirmation of how I have been describing my experience. The pushing is what I liked. It helped me. It felt GOOD! Awesome good, as a matter of fact. Finally decided to drop the hammer. Just waiting for the 2.0 full sized .45 to become available at my local gun store. At this writing, (Check your history books for this date) looks like I'm in for a long wait. So MANY thanks for your great video and advice. Ya done good!

    I've been carrying for about 22 years now, and 90% of that time was spent carrying Glocks. I've replaced my primary carry guns with the 2.0's, because I feel they are that good. I shoot them more accurately, the grips are easier to hold with wet (or God forbid bloody) hands. The Optic Ready triggers are an improvement over the standard curved/hinged triggers. Its not great, but definitely better. But as you say, that is an easy enough fix.
    My only complaint (caused by years of Glock ownership), is you need a punch set and a hammer to get the frame and slide apart for deep cleaning. I will always have a love for Glock, but unless they make some huge change in design, I doubt they will ever be my primary carry gun again. I've been carrying the Bull Shark Gray spec series 9mm for about a year now, and just picked up the FDE .45 with the factory TFX sights. Ive started carrying the .45, Im 6' and 160 lbs and have no trouble concealing it, and do not find it uncomfortable.

    I have 9mm M2.0 and 45 and 9mm compact non M2; triggers are really good on both. Even 9mm full size after changing the spring is not bad. New texture is fantastic but I carry bigger size guns in cold months so it doesn't abrade the skin anyway. M&Ps are perfect size guns without bulkiness of wider slides of more expensive guns. Guns sit low in the hands not like Sigs and H&Ks. I cringe when other posters trying to say that low bore axis doesn't matter

Ammo cost becomes mute when you reload. 200 rounds of .45 would cost me about $30 if I had the brass which I do but no .45 in the safe now. I just pressed out 400 rounds of full house .357 for $56. Your videos are always great. Kudos to some good thoughts on the M&P. Now the honesty. I have owned M&P’s in the past and they were just ok for me. I owned several in fact but sold all of them. Regardless of cost, I just didn’t like them as much as CZ, Walther, Glock, FN or even Beretta. Honestly in the same price range, I like Canik better but the M&P isn’t a bad gun just doesn’t do anything for me. Great video!

    I don't know if I can weigh in on the 2.0 compared to other pistols , as it's my first. I have the compact 9 and I don't have anything negative to say about it ..I really like the pistol ..as far as the grip texture it's really ok it took about a good month to get used to it on my skin .. the stock sights work but I would like to get something brighter soon ..

    I have one , like you said the Apex trigger is a personal choice. I find the trigger to be excellent.I have put over 700 rounds threw mind.One thing that I did notice, after 100 rounds it gets really warm, I’m going to get a heat gun, an find out the exact temperature, I don’t know if it’s because of the aluminum casing on the shells or not.

    • @toddk1377
      @toddk1377 5 лет назад

      My 1.0 can get hot if I shoot a lot quickly. It takes a good 100 rounds or so to heat that slide up, though Ive had it pretty damn hot a couple times doing some drills with some friends. I also shoot the Federal Aluminum cased rounds, though it makes no difference with the heat vs brass. At least the trigger does not transfer that heat otherwise that might be uncomfortable.

    Why do people always look at guns as if you were to “carry” them...some people buy guns for other purposes like home defense.....IMO that gun is way to big for carry....give me my shield 2.0 in 9mm....

      Good point, but bigger guns like this can easily be concealed by a coat in colder climates. I always wear a long coat so it will easily conceals an outside the waist band holster.

      Line up at the 50 yard line with this gun, and you'll get it... It won't split like the 9 on faster targets, but if you have medium male hands or larger, the slightly longer reach to where the trigger breaks than on the 9&40, makes it a target pistol.

    I've had a lot of experiences with the MP45 2.0 firearm.
    Pros:
    1: absolutely accurate.
    2: excellent texture on the grip.
    Cons:
    1: failure to lock back on last round.
    2: the weak front serrations.
    I've carried this firearm for about a year now, and 2.5 years for its predecessor. I've easily put about 10k rounds through the 1.0 and about 3k through the 2.0.
    The biggest issue is not gun not locking back. We've had SW representatives come out to our ranges, and they've blamed it on the old magazines. So SW sent us new followers and springs. However, we've still encountered the same issue with the same magazines that came with the 2.0. The new springs and followers worked the first few hundred rounds, then the slide wouldnt lock back again.
    We thought it was the grip, but it did the same with strong hand and support hand only shooting.
    We shoot out to 50yds for center mass hits and the gun performs well, it's extremely accurate. But you just have to round count all the time, and treat every condition 1 malfunction as a reload.

    I looked into the 45 M&P 2.0, I also looked into a 400 CorBon conversion barrel for it. Unfortunately no such animal. If there had been it would completely justify me picking one up. But as it stands 45 has no place with me.

    • @MatteoSixSeventyFour
      @MatteoSixSeventyFour 6 лет назад

      Hunts4Food67 Are you asking is there a conversion barrel. Or are you asking if I would be interested in converting to it?
      Yes, there is a M&P 45 conversion.
      No, I'm not interested in it. It's a round that beats the snot out of guns. Even with a comp. Guns chambered in it rarely last long enough to even get to a 1000 rounds.

    • @MatteoSixSeventyFour
      @MatteoSixSeventyFour 6 лет назад

      Hunts4Food67 Maybe you'd get that far. If you're really lucky. I know of a few that barely made half that. And I always doubt the claimed "round counts" I've heard on here. The weekend RO at one of my local ranges replaced parts on a converted G20 a couple of times before finally calling it quits. Even the 40 Super is hard on my Witness. I've broken the slide stop's barrel cam pin twice over the years. LoL.
      ***BTW back when the 460 was a wildcat. Long before Rowland ever claimed he created it. It was common to hear of guys destroying their guns in just a few hundred rounds.

      Hunts4Food67 Oh that's easy. Since its also my favorite cartridge. 9x23 Winchester, 357 Sig's performance is very similar though.
