I started with Taurus USA. Got my G2C and G3. I wanted a top tier pistol and I chose the MP 2.0 9mm in compact size. Amazing weapon. I can feel the superior quality of this pistol, more so than Glocks and Sigs. I think S&W makes a better product out of the box than other brands too. I chuckle at the Glock fan boys who spend 500 to 600 getting the pistol and then spending 500 more to make it the pistol it should be. Plus, S&W is 🇺🇸
100% agree. I hadn’t bought a glock and the first one I did buy was the 19x, steel night sights and a good trigger, what the glock should always be, but isn’t.
Wow, talk about fanboys. When a 5.5-7lb trigger is the BEST they can put out that's hardly bragging territory. I'll say this, the two I have, the controls are so small and smooth I can't always drop the slide and I'm no stranger to firearms. I took 8 new to me guns to the range yesterday including 3 different Glocks, 2 CZ's, 3 1911 pattern and a Kahr. I judge every one of them superior to my M&P's. My description of the M&P series is 'adequate'.
Thats hilarious. I dont even own a S&W pistol anymore.
But, I stand by my comments. The Glock is basic and boring. The S&W trigger is spongy so thats valid but the gun itself is still better quality, finish, sights, etc. @@lenzielenski3276
Almost 2 years later...I thank you for doing this. Looking to by my first gun and I'm leaning toward the M&P and now I know the line up.
I have the M&P 2.0 9MM compact 4" barrel, , and love it. I don't see the need to change anything on it. The new trigger is great, the sights are great. Shoots real easy, low recoil.
The new grip and palm swell texture is awesome!!
Just got one, can't wait to pick it up. Do you carry it? It's my first firearm and I plan on getting my CCW soon.
I agree
I've owned a Taurus 99 for almost 30 years. I chose the 9mm 2.0 EZ to be my concealed carry. Right nice gun.
Bought myself the full size M&P 40 cal 2.0 last summer and MAN do I love that pistol.
Just bought one myself and I love it
I am REALLY loving my M&P Shield Plus 9mm I got about a month ago. It is also my very first firearm. Just installed the Hogue Beavertail grip the other day. Next upgrade will be the Streamlight TLR-6 light/laser. I THOROUGHLY recommend this particular firearm to anyone, ESPECIALLY people with smaller hands.
Excellent choice
Too bad I live in California😮💨
Truly an amazing video. I had many doubts about the differences between the entire M&P lineup to define the purchase of a new gun for me and this video has been of great help. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and experiences. Greetings from Chile.
I have the Shield 2.0 as my EDC. I simply have nothing to complain about on this pistol even with the single stack 7+1/8+1 mag. It far out-shines the Bodyguard that I previously carried. The new rougher grip was noticeable at first, but I’m unaware of it now. I have recommended it to several friends who now love theirs as well.
Good review thank you.
An emery board (for fingernails) used very gently and LIGHTLY will take the points off the grip texture if it's too sharp. Only one of my M&Ps even needed it. Just don't overdo it.
Got my 4” 2.0 Compact 9MM earlier this year and have put several hundred trouble free rounds through it. Used it for LEOSA qualification this summer and could not be happier w/it.
SWEET!
New Shield Plus is out now; 10+1 and 13+1 in the factory box. Love the M&P line.
I have a M&P9 M2.0 with a 4.25 in barrel and flush 17 round magazine. People tend to overlook the 4.25 in barrel. It’s an awesome gun.
I thought the 4.25 was a 15 rounder. I have 3.1" 7 0r 9 and 5" 17
I’m looking to get the 5” ported to use for a race gun. Why should I consider 4.25? Jw your opinion
I have the same gun. 4.25 m&p9 2.0. Very cool. I like it alot. My first pistol
Same here, my edc. Love it and it's been flawless at about 2k rounds
I also have the M&P 2.0 with 4.25 barrel. I have it in 9mm with no safety. It holds 17rds.
Ah hell cant make up my mind. Ill just get them all. 😝
They’re nice I have the Shield EZ in 9mm
That's what I did
Lol
@@truthseeker1833 you know what they say if you can’t decide by the whole thing(nobody says that)
Same here. I’m new here and I’m in California. Lots of videos and google, lol.
Awesome video! I was in the process of getting an M&P and the information you provided helped out immensely. The M&P9 pro was the first gun I ever purchased and I really liked it but traded it in as I had become a big fan of VP9s ergonomics and trigger. I was going to try the 2.0 series when they came out but went with a Sig p320 instead due to their modularity. I was looking for a full sized duty/night stand gun when the PC and pro versions had just come out but couldn't come to a decision on one because like most guns with 5 inch barrels they are geared more towards the competition shooter, which I'm not nearly good enough to be. Thanks for all the info, I came across your channel recently and I really like your reviews and comparisons, wish I had come across it sooner.
Great review on the various M&P models. I have the compact M&P 9mm and my wife wanted the M&P 380 Shield EZ because she couldn't pull my 9mm back at all. She loves the Shield EZ and we've put a few rounds down range this week to get her familiarized with it. Now I just have to get her used to the fact that along with the shooting is followed by the cleaning too. When I got her that EZ the agreement was that it was up to her to clean it after every range session. We'll get there....eventually.
I have a shield 9mm and a full .40cal. I love them both. They each have been a pleasure to shoot
Nice informative video. My favorite Smith and Wesson M&P 2.0 is the 3.6” Compact, the 15 round version and the 4.0” Compact and the Shield 2.0. All have been upgraded with the APEX Flat Triggers.
I have the 3.6 as well and prefer it over my Glock 48. The quality in production and craftsmanship feels better. The stippling on the M&P feels great on my hand to. I've been eyeing Cabin and the Hellcat for my next. It's an expensive collectors hobby
I Love my M&P 9 2.0, 4.2" barrel with 17 round magazines. It's such an Awesome shooter. 👍🏻
Just purchased the M&P smith and Wesson 40 cal. Love it!!!
For what model?
Full size, Compact, or subcompact will be a nice shooter in 40. A shield in .40 is a bit snappy because it's a lil too light for 40
Me too I got the 4.25" barrel in FDE with night sights
Hell ya. I take mine everywhere.
I just BOUGHT a MP-2.0 CORE but it's still in the clutches of USPS.
MP9c with Apex trigger for edc the last few years and full size c.o.r.e. with Apex trigger and vortex venom red dot! Both super accurate and fit my medium hands like a glove,
2.0 3.6 compact is my all time favorite carry gun.
I just sent my 3.6 inch slide in to Dp Customs Works for an optic cut, tall sights and ramped porting. Can't wait to receive it back.
I agree, just picked up my m2.0 compact 3.6" inch today from my FFL, I'm absolutely loving it, great pistol, I had to go with the 3.6" once I realized that they offered it in that barrel length, perfect combination for me.
we are a M&P family. we have three calipers in the large frame and the 9mm in the EZ for carry. love them.
I got the M&P 2.0, 3.6, love it! It shares duties with my Sig P365 as my carry guns.
My M&P 2.0’s just can’t stay off the bullseye. My Dad had an old AMT Hardballer 45cal and it made me, Dad and my brothers all look like pros. That’s what all my M&P’s now do.
I bought a M&P shield 2.0 back in November liked it so much that I bought the full sized M&P 9 with the long slide and I love them both.
Sure everybody compares it to the G19. If you have one, how does it compare in your opinion?
I was thinking of doing similar, but with an ez and a double stack, but not sure how different they would feel. Cuz that would be ideal having a summer and winter carry that feels the same in the hand. But I really like the grip and the lightness of the EZ.
I bought my 1st Gen 9mm Shield a little over a year ago for $250 out the door. Fantastic purchase, I added magazine extenders because I like all of my fingers on the grip. I purchased a .380 Shield 2.0 EZ love that gun. I may look at the 9mm EZ now. Great series from Smith & Wesson. American made, life time warranties.Take that Sig snobs.
Thanks for the GREAT content!!! I love your reviews. I just bought 4 of these 5 pistols. I love the M&P lineup
Had the original 9c 3.5 compact, loved everything about it but the trigger and got rid of it. Just recently picked up the 2.0 3.6 subcompact. This time I've put an Apex trigger and TruGlo TFX Pro day/night sights and it is a perfect EDC.
That’s the one I want to get for my first‼️
@@leyosouljaz The upgrades I did make sense and worth it.
Man i really like my M&P9 M2.0 compact!!
I am so glad you all did this. I was looking and looking and couldn’t find a video. I love my M&P 2.0’s EZ 380 gold barrel, EZ 9, my compact .40 and 9mm, plus my Shield 9mm I picked up yesterday. All I need is a full size and maybe the 9c LOL
Love the M & P line , great video as always
Just picked up my new M&P m2.0 compact 3.6" inch from my FFL today and I'm really loving this pistol, it's just a great quality option, very very happy with it.
How large are your hands? Mine are 7.5" (tip of middle finger to base of palm). I'm looking at this model over the Shield.
Excellent review as usual. My 5" C.O.R.E. Performance center model is currently on back order I can't wait to get it light up the range with it
Holsters?
The 2.0 grip wears itself in smoothes out over use; dry fire from a holster for a few weeks and it'll be smooth enough to carry comfortably.
My next favorite pistol is my 9 mm M&P Shield M2.0, being so easy to shoot. However, the grips are rough and uncomfortable to carry IWB. What I did was to modify my Alien Gear holster by adding more leather on the grip side of the holster. I glued the leather together held in place by Vinyl material. I also reduced the trigger pull down to 3 1/2 LBS. By polishing every internal moving part with a Dremel and flitz metal polish.
Is it alright as it is fresh out the box?? Looking at it as my next gun.
I have the Shield 9mm and 40 and I really like them both and shoot them pretty well. Triggers are somewhat gritty but I have gotten used to them. Enjoyed the video very much. Thank you.
I carried a 9mm shield for a little over a year with no problems. I fired a lot of rounds through this gun. Recently I bought the shield in 45. It is only a little bit larger than the 9mm and will fit the same Desantis holster I used for the 9. I was amazed when the first shot with the 45 went dead center of the target at 7 yards. I have medium sized hands so I really like the narrow grips on the shield. I fired many different types of ammo through the gun with no failures. I even mixed up the ammo in the same magazine with Wolf steel case, Winchester white box and golden saber hollow points. again the gun performed flawlessly. I have no doubt this gun will become my EDC.
My favorite is the 5” FDE without thumb safety and no chamber loaded indicator.
Love the m&p series. I have 4. Best pistol for me and accuracy is right on.
Mine too. I know Glocks are also good guns but I hate their grip and grip angle, plus I prefer a manual safety on my carry guns. M&Ps are winners for me.
Looking into getting my first gun. Looking at the M&P 2.0 as an option. This video has been very helpful. Thanks, keep it up!
Love my 2.0! Great feel while shooting. Doesn't kick like I thought it would and easy to use and clean.
I have the M&P 9 M2.0 and it fits perfect in my hand. It's like it is made for my hand only. The grip is fantastic and it will never slip out of your hand. It's a pitty the weapond are allot more ecpensive in Belgium. Here we pay 870euro for the M&P.
Yeah relatable. Here in Brazil this same pistol costs about 16.800 reais. That's equivalent to 2.600 Euros. Incredibly expensive for the average Brazilian.
I have the 4.25" with 17 round capacity and can comfortably carry it appendix everyday with 3 spare mags and a flashlight mounted. Love my M&P 2.0
Why do you think you need 3 spare mags? lol
@@JustMe-999a I don't carry that setup anymore
I bought the SHIELD 2.0 in April. Prolly got 1000 rounds thru it at the range. Tru-glo night sights. Absolutely love this line up. Cant wait to get the SHIELD .40 with 4" barrel.
Much Love S&W from PHILLY!!!
Nice review. I have the M&P 2.0 with 4.25 inch barrel and a Shield 2.0 with factory installed laser and I looooove them.
You should have brought out the commander size 4.25 inch model. Full M&P lineup comparison. I love the 4.25" , 25.7 ounces, accurate.
I found these a couple time in my back alley yard 😂. Too bad i can’t use it or sell it. I guess even criminals love the 2.0 model lol
Bruh call the 12!
So, I have a lot of different weapons, but I fell in love with the features on this weapon. This is not only a gun for beginners or people that can't rack the slide. This gun is for anyone. I am currently using it as my EDC.
I have the m&p 2.0 with the 4 inch barrel with 15 round mag I love it shoots great never had any issues
I love the M&P lineup and own two of them. Just wish Smith & Wesson would come out with a 10mm. I would be first in line!
My 65 year old mother loves her EZ. Wonderful firearm.
I realize that I need to put the item in our hands first to know for sure, but I am trying to find a home defense weapon for both my wife and I. We both have small hands and I already carry the Ruger LC9S so I don’t have to worry about concealing this one. I’m thinking either the 2.0 9 mm Compact or one of the slightly smaller ones. Definitely not the Full Size. Use on all the variations and differences, especially when you throw in the Easy and Sub Compact in addition to the Shield line-up.
Shield 2.0 is my favorite. Looking forward to buying another s&w this week. Thanks for the help. It was right in time.
I love mine as well. Great to carry with one in the chamber but having the safety on.
I've rent most brands and popular models and M&P 2.0 and M&P Shield 2.0 are my favorite 9mms
My favorite gun is and always will be the Beretta 92/m9 BUT the m&p shield 2.0 and 2.0 EZ are both great as well
Mine, too, for now. I recently bought the new Shield Plus which in the box has 10+1 and 13+1. Of course, more rounds with the 13+1 will add a little more weight. When I get some rounds through the Shield Plus it might become my new favorite.
The shield for the win for my favorite EDC! With magguts extended magazine, I get 9+1 in a very comfortable EDC holster all day long! Great $$ spent! Good job guys!
shield plus out now
I absolutely love my
40 shield..
SMITH AND WESSON.
Compact with extreme power
I have 8 M&P's and i love them all. Have a 1st gen 9mm shield and a 2.0 as well as an original .45 shield. I own a 4" compact and it looks a lot smaller than your .45 compact. I also have an original full size M&P in 40 and 2 full size 2.0 both in 40 and another full size 2.0 in .45. Love your channel.
You know you left out the bodyguard! But my EDC is the M&p9 2.0 4in compact. Nice video!!
I really appreciate your knowledge this is my first time actually purchasing a gun
Glad to hear it. What did you end up purchasing?
I'm a USCCA Platinum member and I own a S&W M&P9 M2.0 Compact. Great gun. It fits my hands just right and sights in naturally. It's easy to conceal and carry. I love my M&P9 M2.0 Compact. It's my every day carry and i love carrying it. The grip is pretty rough so I'd recommend a concealed carry holster that will keep the grip off of your side like the N8 Tactical concealed carry holster or what I've been using lately, a concealed carry fanny pack. Your gun, your choice.
Fantastic video. I love that you have one of each to give the perfect visual between all the different sizes
You do an awesome job explaining things. Easy to follow, love your channel.
I ordered an apex trigger for my 1.0 shield, also have Talon grips already on it. Awesome carry pistol.
What are pros and cons of the apex trigger? How many lbs of force to pull that trigger?
I have the new M&P 2.0 Perf. Ctr. CORE (ported) 5" version and it is fantastic...even the trigger is very nice...BUT, I still don't like the curved trigger. Adding an Apex flat faced forward set trigger and then a new Holosun 507c... This is will be a keeper for sure with my other 2.0 versions. I would like to see this same 5" version in the 5.7 caliber offering. Fantastic job S&W (change the curved trigger)
I would love for them to carry a long slide 10mm. I would buy that yesterday.
I really wish people would quit saying the EZ line is just for women and older people with hand issues. Yes that is the primary audience but I know plenty of people that are not in these categories that love and carry these myself included. I am a 46 yr old man with no health issues other than my hearing thanks to working on military aircraft and I carry a .380 EZ and love it and don't feel outgunned or whatever you want to call it.
I'm carrying the M&P 9c. Nice vid review. Thanks.
What holster do you prefer? Currently switching between the alien gear shape shift 4.0 and the lock leather from urban carry.
Great video on the M&P lineup. I'm thinking about getting a 9mm Sub Compact to add to my Full-size v1, Compact v2 and Shield v1. Your video really helped me to better understand how the Sub Compact v2 would fit into the lineup. thanks.
I prefer the 1.0 versions for the following
1- grip texture doesn’t chew your skin like sandpaper when conceal carrying.
2- the magazine stay in the gun (don’t fall out when you grip hard)
3- curved trigger works in the snow (thanks garand thumb)
I have a S&W M&P Shield EZ 9mm M2.0 with the thumb and grip safeties.
I love itl it's my EDC with 2 extra mags
I have the M&P series including the Shield all 1.0 versions and they're all just as good as the 2.0 versions with the APEX Duty carry trigger installed.
I was looking into a Glock 23 because I em a 40. Guy and liked the overall size/capacity, I've never owned a glock but I think I'm seriously leaning more towards the m&p 2.0 40. c instead do to the same size/ capacity factor as the glock but in my opinion better value/features and I know S&W make quality firearms.
M&P Shield For This Texan
I bought the full size performance center. One of my better purchases
Great comparison...looking these now but wasn’t sure about the model. Now I know. Thanks
Just purchased the 2.0 shield 🛡, love it! Goes great with my house gun c9 hi point...😆
You should sleep with a cross and bible with that c9 GOOD LUCK !
Why not the EZ?
@@daveshelton5133... you should stand in front of C9, it goes bang everytime and accurate, you are a gun sob 😢...I have plenty of other guns, however, I love seeing haters hate...
I love the m&p Shield 9mm.
I have my M&P9C 2G Barrell 4". I love it I shot more than 2,000 rounds with no issues. I carried it everyday with a full size magazine 17+1.
Love my 4" shield plus and m&p 2.0 optic ready
Thanks for such a no-bs informative video. Definitely helped guide me through all the different names and variations M&P has to offer.
In the winter time I carry the 2.0 compact, in the summertime I carry the 1.0 subcompact...
2.0 sub compact is my next purchase 🇺🇸
M&P 2.0 3.6” subcompact. My first and still fav. Add the Streamlight TLR-4 light/laser for perfection.
Hello to you
Love the Compact 45 model. Would rather 9 mm version but that’s just me.
Thanks again, like the MP family with thumb safety.
Be well
I'll start by saying USCCA is the best out there IMO and I don't have any deals with them but they are that good. I have a few M&P's and love them all. I'd have a hard time picking one. The compact 22 and the Shield would be a tie but I actually carry the Shield and full size. The Shield it is I guess. Great video 👍
Got the shield ez 9 for my wife with purple frame. Just need her to come home so we can go to the range.
Definitely the og shield no need to get complicated and fun to shoot!
FANTASTIC video. This is exactly what I was looking for. Thanks man!
Got m&p 2.0 and love it
I just purchased the m&p 2.0 shield ez 9mm it's my new favorite EDC, I love that gun, I don't have issues that require me to use the ez but at the time that was all they had at the store and for 400 bucks I couldn't pass it up, and I'm glad I got it
Great video!..I have the M&P M2.0 Spec.series full size 9mm.with the 5" barrel and with the Trijicon iron sights from the factory...2 - 17 round mags...I absoultly love it....quick question..i have been going through the different size palm swells and like the first 3 sizes very much..i keep changing between small.. med ..and now im really liking the Med-Large....large is to big for me..but my question is which do you prefer and why..i have smaller hands but all 3 feel very good to me..what are your thoughts??? Thankyou for al the great cideos ..keep it up!👍❤😄
Hard to beat the M&P's
Gun shop: how many m&p's do u want?
Buyer: Yes!
oh yea...my commander size 4.25inch m&p 2.0 9 is so hot and accurate. My house gun. I wish they would get rid of that bad design grip safety on the ez....looks like a big lever sticking out.....maybe its for the ladies so they concentrate on grip strength. My ccw is a p365 and its so accurate and a flat soft shooter. thanks heg.
You definitely compared two full size guns at the end there, that wasnt the 4inch or the 3.6 inch compact. Smith has the shield, 2.0 subcompact 3.5in, 3.6 inchcompact, 4inch compact, THEN its the full size.
My first gun was the Shield 9mm. Just got the Shield 40 2.0 yesterday. :-)
Awesome video. Unfortunately shield 1.0 is the only legal firearm in California and its expensive, costs about $700.
Excellent review, you just made my choice allot easier. Im catcinh hell to find a lefty handgun. thanks again
Just FYI S&W does NOT make a 10 round mag for either the m2.0 compact or full size in .40 cal. They do have 10 round mags that will lock in but they stick out a couple of inches. They might in 9mm but definitely do not in .40.
The price difference between the 1.0 and the 2.0 is a deal breaker when the 1.0 is the same gun minor some changes it aint worth the price to upgrade. Going to a bigger gun the same line up i can see upgrading.
The trigger alone is worth the upgrade
M&P 2.0 Full Size 40 caliber.
45 shield 2.0 for me, 9mm shield 2.0 for my wife. Love em both
I wish they would bring back the V-TAC model.
Lots of great information here about the M&P lineup, but there were some technical issues in your video that distracted from full enjoyment. The hard cuts were painful (example at 3:34). Also, there were a couple of spots where you had cut away to firing video (nice to see), but you continued to handle the weapon and even took a trigger pull measurement while showing the person shooting (example at about 6:29). When this happened I felt like I was missing out on seeing you handling the gun and I wasn't sure exactly what I was hearing compared to what you were doing. I know these comments may seem petty, but production quality issues like this will get you more upvotes.
Again, great content and I really appreciated the comparison between the various M&P handguns.
I have the original 9 m&p compact with an apex trigger and a Shield 9mm 2.0
