Bro, I LOVE my M&Ps! Thank god my work is cheap and stuck with M&Ps as our duty weapon. I’ve tried every other handgun as a carry and keep rolling back to my 2.0 compact.
The compact (3.6" bbl.) you showed around 23 minute mark....ive had alot of M&Ps including the 4" bbl version and the fact you can add a 17 rd. or larger magazine I just love it!!!
I concur. The flat faced trigger on the Shield Plus is superior to the hinged trigger on the M&P9 M2.0. That said, when I go to the range I start with the Shield and transition to the M&P9. I then shoot with much better accuracy. 3 v4 in barrels seems to make a difference. I still carry the Shield as it is lighter and more concealable. This is important in Georgia in the summer.
I had thought about upgrading my V1.0 M&P compact EDC with a different/newer M&P... but when it came right down to it I never had one single issue or failure and has run literally anything I've thrown at it. Maybe one day, but I'm really in no rush. Absolutely in love with it.
Well darn you got me on Smith and Wesson M&P guns. I only have 2 Fullsize 2 compact 1 Competitor 1 all 2.0 and a Sub Compact all 9mm. 3 are optics ready with Ameriglo Haven 5.0 and 3.5 moa Red Dot. 3 are basic 2.0 and plan guns. Respectable collection thanks for sharing.
I don’t see the point In discontinuing the subcompact. That’s like Glock discontinuing the 26 because of the 43/43x . It still has a place. They need to release a optics ready, subcompact with the new trigger and then leave it alone . They don’t need to keep updating it after that. I just got it instead of the shield literally a month ago because it’s a little thicker , but it’s compatible with all my other M&P magazines. Can’t put a price on that for me
I love my csx and I don’t know why people are trigger snobs because in that time of stress the last thing your thinking about is trigger pull plus train to get better on the gun you like
My first firearm was the SHIELD 2.0. Great firearm. Put about 8,000 rounds thru it in just over 2 years. My second firearm was a SHIELD 45acp. I have about 7,500 rounds thru that. Both NEVER had a malfuntion and have been flawless. I sold my SHIELD 2.0 9mm to a friend and both the SHIELD PLUS 9mm. A nice upgrade to a FANTASTIC FIREARM. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THEM. Great video HEGSHOT and i LOVE you input!!!!
I effing love S&W and especially M&P's, and i am so proud that i own quite a few different ones in all different calibers....But hot damn if that collection doesn't make me envious!!!
I’m impressed with the Shield 45 M2.0. The recoil is quite manageable and it’s the most accurate pistol I own. It’s almost the same size as the 9 mm shield. I have a Bucks holster for the 45 and my 9 fits nicely in it too.
My favorite “off duty” carry piece is a Shield 40. A true pocket hammer with lots of power to get the job done! S&W M&P pistols are top tier and take a back seat to no other manufacturer. They are shoulder to shoulder with the best of the best. Super high quality and first rate engineering make them ultra reliable in all conditions and exceedingly durable. Until they develop a ray-gun, M&P will be at the top of the game. You cannot go wrong with an M&P.
Just got the S&W M&P9 M2.0 Compact with 3.6 inch barrel. Uses 15 round magazines. Excellent trigger out of the box. Took it to the range and put 250 rounds through it. Flawless. Very accurate.
I bought the M&P 2.0 10mm with the 4.6 inch barrel in April of this year, the Equalizer 9mm in May, and the M&P 2.0 22 magnum in August. Smith & Wesson gives you a good gun for the money.
The M&P 's rounded at the back grip shape never agreed with my hand but love their FPC. In fact it's replaced my heavy Ruger PC9 as my home defense gun.
the ONLY drawback to the M&P2.0 was the slide stop detent to prevent autoforwarding like the 1.0 was known for. When youre wrong handed like me, the slide stop becomes useless due to the detent. Have to tap the detent out with a punch so it can actually function, and then you get the autofoward "feature" back.
I Have An M&P M2.0 Long slide 9mm That Came With A Hinged Trigger. I Replaced My Trigger With An Apex Trigger After Shooting My Mom's G2C Because I Liked The Feel Of The G2C Trigger Better. The Trigger Pull Weights Of My M&P 2.0 Using A Lyman Digital Trigger Pull Gauge And Doing 10 Pulls Are: Trigger Pull Weight Average = 3 LBS 4.4oz Lightest Trigger Pull Weight = 3 LBS 0.5oz Heaviest Trigger Pull Weight = 3 LBS 8.4oz
Just discovered your channel since I was looking at some of the latest spec series m&ps vs metals. Started with a gen 1 shield and replaced it with the 4” ported performance shield plus when the first was stolen. Have some HK and shadow system full size pistols but never any full size m&p even though I’ve gotten family and friends into them. So many good options. Great reviews thank you!
Thanks for this run through the lineup Heggy. Appreciate your work. I have an original Shield and recently bought a 2.0 metal. I paid more than I intended for the metal version, but man, is it a shooter and a looker!!
Quick question, does your equalizer have an opening between the slide and frame? I just noticed my dose. I can actually "press check" by looking through the slot! If yours doesn't, should I be concern and call Smith?
The only thing stopping me from getting a shield plus is that slide stop/slide release. It’s just too small for my hands. I love everything about it except for that.
As usual, I enjoyed and learn from your videos. Smith and Wesson is my favorite. My edc rotation is Shield Plus OR, Shield 45 2.0 and the M&P 2.0 9mm compact. Manageable, accurate and concealable.
Props to you sir for not shying away from the range due to a little rain. Guns are tools, they can handle a little rain storm, no need to let it ruin a day on the range.
Great summary video. I’ve followed a bit of this journey. Curious if you had to choose between the 5” ported (with upgraded trigger) or Competitor, which you would choose. Thanks. Looking for a better range and steel challenge pistol.
I shoot the hinged trigger as hard, fast and accurate as I shoot the flatter trigger. Probably because I shoot for police gunfighting defense and not competition. I find most people don't know the difference in performance. They simply repeat what "experts" have told them. And the market builds products for customer demand not customer needs. Love S&W. Nice review.
I need a 5in, metal frame, performance center, calibered in .40 S&W M&P... maybe one day 🙏🙏🙏 Been tryin to get a M&P for couple years now. Lookin for it to replace my Glock 17 as my full size home defense pistol, just waiting on the right model to pull the trigger on. Smith and Wesson coming out with great stuff, need one in my life lol
Used to carry the mp shield 9mm and put like 9 thousand rounds through it.. it was my first gun.. I've been addicted ever since.. now I have the shield as my Carry gun.. and the 2.0 compact as my home defense gun...
Serious question here, what is the point of 30 super carry off the recoil is similar to 9mm? It costs more than 9mm and if it has the same ballistics, then what's the point?
I look forward to every video as I do the USCCA monthly magazine. Thank you for another great vid. You're amazing! My EDC: Shield Plus juxtaposed to the P365.
Ill keep my M&P.40c 165gr JHP. 10RD mag & accepts full size mags. Been carrying it about 15yrs now, not one issue! People who complain about the recoil are the first to run 147gr+P 9mm in their micro compact. (smh).
I got a smith&wesson M&P shield 1.0 with an apex trigger and it’s been a great EDC gun…. I’m really liking that metal 2.0 😍😍😍 I might just have to pick that one up 😍😍😍😍
I didn't know they made the FPC where the f*ck have I been. Did they or are they going to make extended mags for it that are compatible with the regular handguns?
No point in 45 for me since I have a hard time with getting back on target shot after shot. I'd rather shoot faster and get my shots on target with 9mm. Still have a hard time with 9mm as it is.
If you don’t have any guns, get the 9mm Equalizer, you won’t regret it. The only decision left is 1. Do you want the optional thumb safety, they have two models with and without a thumb safety
Good video - right? I have both 1.0 and 2.0 9’s, with barrels ranging from 3.1” to 5” - right? My 4” compact remains my favorite - right? May eventually buy the FOC - right?
I just found this guys channel that's why I'm commenting 6 months later. I have the M&P Performance Center 1.0 with the 5" ported barrel. What is the difference between that and the 2.0? Everything I've looked up everyone says the 2.0 has a better trigger, aside from that is there any other differences? TIA :)
For goodness sakes. It's always "the trigger" with reviewers. The amount of time and attention spent on "the trigger" could be better spent on much more relevant items like build quality, warranty information, materials standard (why type of steel, polymer or aluminum is used in the construction and how does that compare with other manufacturers?) Etc etc...
Watching this my puppy decided to snoot boop my screen and subscribed. But I aint mad. Thanks for the in depth comparison and hard word. I got an mp 2.0 (the sub compact 10 13 round) and I've been wanting to exchange it after shooting 13 rounds I could tell it wasn't the right one for me
Instant thumbs up! Somebody loooovvvvveeees Smith and Wesson?
Bro, I LOVE my M&Ps! Thank god my work is cheap and stuck with M&Ps as our duty weapon. I’ve tried every other handgun as a carry and keep rolling back to my 2.0 compact.
Always loved Smith and Wesson especially the m and p lineup
As someone who carries the M&P 2.0 compact 4” I thoroughly enjoyed this.
Did I miss the 9mm of that somewhere? Seems at 19:00 he gets to similar but it’s .45 and 10mm 😕
@JasonWho He had the metal version at 27:30, but I didn't see the polymer one. He mentioned it at 31:02, but was holding the metal one.
The compact (3.6" bbl.) you showed around 23 minute mark....ive had alot of M&Ps including the 4" bbl version and the fact you can add a 17 rd. or larger magazine I just love it!!!

The Equalizer is my new EDC gun. It checks all the boxes, for me! If the ever make a .380 Equalizer, I'd buy that too!
Great gun, almost went that route myself
Well darn you got me on Smith and Wesson M&P guns. I only have 2 Fullsize 2 compact 1 Competitor 1 all 2.0 and a Sub Compact all 9mm. 3 are optics ready with Ameriglo Haven 5.0 and 3.5 moa Red Dot. 3 are basic 2.0 and plan guns. Respectable collection thanks for sharing.
I absolutely love my shield plus. Wont be my last firearm from the M&P line-up
I don’t see the point In discontinuing the subcompact. That’s like Glock discontinuing the 26 because of the 43/43x . It still has a place. They need to release a optics ready, subcompact with the new trigger and then leave it alone . They don’t need to keep updating it after that. Great video I know it took a lot of effort getting all of these models together thank brother
God bless
Thanks man
I need to get that CSX and the 30 super carry.Only m&p I have as of now is the 5.7……
I love my csx and I don’t know why people are trigger snobs because in that time of stress the last thing your thinking about is trigger pull plus train to get better on the gun you like
Agreed. Same for the bodyguard. A double-action on a carry is wise, imo.
What a great comparison. I love the M&P line, and being an America company is a big Plus!
I absolutely love the M&P Metal, I also love the Performance center model with 5" barrel.
It’s my favorite new beast I love everything about it it’s one beauty of a pistol
I effing love S&W and especially M&P's, and i am so proud that i own quite a few different ones in all different calibers....But hot damn if that collection doesn't make me envious!!!
I love M&P. My EDC is an M&P and my home defense pistol is an M&P. Both 2.0s and both in 40S&W, both with lightweight, high speed defensive rounds.
I’m impressed with the Shield 45 M2.0. The recoil is quite manageable and it’s the most accurate pistol I own. It’s almost the same size as the 9 mm shield. I have a Bucks holster for the 45 and my 9 fits nicely in it too.
Surprised there wasn't a 40 S&W in your collection.
I hated my m&P 2.0 until I got the Apex flat trigger now it's my favorite striker fired gun. Pulls like butter & the reset is damn near non existent 🔥
Appreciate the work that went into the video but we really need chapters!
I carry my shield plus optic ready everywhere, my 10mm in the winter, but my favorite is always my sport 2.
Thanks for the rundown! It's just what I was looking for. My next gun will most likely be the Shield Plus.
Great video ! I was wondering if you can interchange the performance slide to the full size 2.0 without changing the barrel to 5” ??
the ONLY drawback to the M&P2.0 was the slide stop detent to prevent autoforwarding like the 1.0 was known for. When youre wrong handed like me, the slide stop becomes useless due to the detent. Have to tap the detent out with a punch so it can actually function, and then you get the autofoward "feature" back.
Hillbillies think it’s a safety issue. My CZ does that and I love it.
I Have An M&P M2.0 Long slide 9mm That Came With A Hinged Trigger.
I Replaced My Trigger With An Apex Trigger After Shooting My Mom's G2C Because I Liked The Feel Of The G2C Trigger Better.
The Trigger Pull Weights Of My M&P 2.0 Using A Lyman Digital Trigger Pull Gauge And Doing 10 Pulls Are:

Great video man! You have me moving toward picking up the 5.7 and the Shield Plus Performance Center.
Just discovered your channel since I was looking at some of the latest spec series m&ps vs metals. Have some HK and shadow system full size pistols but never any full size m&p even though I’ve gotten family and friends into them. So many good options. Great reviews thank you!
Awesome rundown of the whole line up!
If I would have seen this earlier I'd have saved hours and hours of phone time.
Just curious if I'm the only one that wishes Smith & Wesson would at least put a cheap set of iron sights at least on the FPC.
I got my 30 SC for under $300 new, and 3 extra magazines with the mail in rebate. Ammo is $22 a box at range USA . A great deal.
I hate taking red dots on and putting them off my PCC 😂😂
That 3.6" is my edc. Just thick enough to accommodate my long fingers.
My favorite, official, and go-to gun channel.
They need to make an M&P .22 WMR carbine. it would compare to MP5 in size while super accurate with almost no recoil.

Been tryin to get a M&P for couple years now. Lookin for it to replace my Glock 17 as my full size home defense pistol, just waiting on the right model to pull the trigger on. Smith and Wesson coming out with great stuff, need one in my life lol
Just bought a used LEO M&P45 M2.0 Compact 45ACP! Are all M&P mags interchangeable w/ 2.0 (excluding Shield single stack)? Thanks in advance!
To install a red dot site on my M/P 2, do I have to remove the rear site to add a plate in the dove tail ??
Used to carry the mp shield 9mm and put like 9 thousand rounds through it.. it was my first gun.. I've been addicted ever since.. now I have the shield as my Carry gun.. and the 2.0 compact as my home defense gun...
Serious question here, what is the point of 30 super carry off the recoil is similar to 9mm? It costs more than 9mm and if it has the same ballistics, then what's the point?
The vid I never knew I needed
Hegshot just wet himself with excitement 😂😂😂
ive had four m&p's the only one i didn't like was the equalizer and ive had open heart surgery. now i only have the shield plus and m&p m 2.0
What happened to the m&p 380 bodyguard.? It’s my bathing suit gun with underwood extreme defender.😊
I look forward to every video as I do the USCCA monthly magazine. Thank you for another great vid. You're amazing! My EDC: Shield Plus juxtaposed to the P365.
Thanks man
Awesome content. Just picked up that same full size performance center barely used. Super excited about it even though it’s an older left gun.
I love the look of the scallop serrations. That other one looks too generic
@hegshot87 what shoots better the ported 2.0 pc or the competitor?
Ill keep my M&P.40c 165gr JHP. 10RD mag & accepts full size mags. Been carrying it about 15yrs now, not one issue! People who complain about the recoil are the first to run 147gr+P 9mm in their micro compact. (smh).
Just picked up the Shield Plus Performance Center with Optics and ported barrel 4in. Killer gun
I got a smith&wesson M&P shield 1.0 with an apex trigger and it’s been a great EDC gun…. I’m really liking that metal 2.0 😍😍😍 I might just have to pick that one up 😍😍😍😍
Can the Ported performance barrel fit in the competitor 2.0
Is the flat face trigger worth?
I didn't know they made the FPC where the f*ck have I been. Did they or are they going to make extended mags for it that are compatible with the regular handguns?
An FPC in 10mm, 40sw, or 45 would be sick....
Do you know of any level 2 or 3 holsters for the competitor?
Can't wait to see Floyd's custom or Browning CSX
Oh my God I would love to have all those
I have all the 2.0 series hand guns and shield plus but I partial to my 45 carry it in a 1791 holster with the extra mag love it
The optics ready 45 is my next one
Love my 9mm Compact Shield 2.0. Good groups for me within 50ft!
I personally am a smith guy probably the best smith and Wesson video on RUclips thanks heg
I love my 2.0 I’ve gone through just about 1000 rounds and haven’t had a single jam!
I would like to see the FPC in 10 mm.
Aesthetically I like the fish scale serrations more
5.7 very expensive rounds! .42c - .51c per round.
Great video! Love the M&P Metal!
My 10 bucks off the laser sight straight to the forehead :( need an under-mounted one
Awesome comparison video.
Why TF doesn’t the shield plus have a rail system???
Nice pitch except that humans sweat. And that thing is surely a sweat machine.
No point in 45 for me since I have a hard time with getting back on target shot after shot. I'd rather shoot faster and get my shots on target with 9mm. Still have a hard time with 9mm as it is.
Thank you for this because I want to get one but all the models get confusing for a beginner like me.
If you don’t have any guns, get the 9mm Equalizer, you won’t regret it. The only decision left is
1. Do you want the optional thumb safety, they have two models with and without a thumb safety
@@francostacy7675 Thanks!
I love my S&W Metal. Such an amazing handgun.
I just love the Tungsten Grey 2.0 metal
awesome video my man!

Nice! I own 7 m&ps.
I own over 35 m&ps. I am superior.
@@TengoUnGatoEnLosPantelones well I just bought 2 more so you better watch it pal!

There's a .380 bodyguard and a .38 special bodyguard.
My first pistol ever was an m and p shield original I still love that pistol 🔫

No body guard or sports 1 & 2 ? :(
S&W, please make a 10mm Auto FPC!!!
A new subscriber 😊

I love my fpc
Somehow I got unsubscribed. I’m back.
Thanks man

Good video. Just add chapters.
