To the Alpha M defenders repeatedly telling me 'he said it was just a joke video' etc. Of course, he's going to claim it's a joke once the content gets a backlash, and people start calling him out for what he's doing. What did you expect? To me, it didn't come across as a joke video in the slightest; just a bunch of paid lies. It's a shame it's come to this. Also, on his Tiege Hanley channel, he didn't reference it being a joke, just that he was preparing a 'controversial video' - he only talked about it being tongue-in-cheek afterwards. Open your eyes people.

Because of your blessing of your divine and all true opinion on MVMT watches, I have successfully lend a helping hand to 17 people and counting from out of the "affordable luxury" that we all have to know and love to hate. I have even roped 3 of those people in the hobby of watch collecting and other things pertaining to the subject of watches. I have now become a regular viewer of your channel because I believe that you have opinions and advise that i can use to my own benefit and knowledge, and you also have helpful tips and tricks on other things as well.
I also thought it was a horrible business move to drag his TH brand into this mess.

Happy to see tho a great lad as you are that is uploading some very valuable content (which some people might like it or not, but this is not really the point). Keep up the good work mate
11:00 the only valuable point he's right, look at the ridiculous waiting lists on steel sport Rolex such as batman or Daytona. They are artificially creating demand. On top, you can't say you're not overpaying Rolex on marketing expenses the same way you do to MVMT. Make no mistake, I don't defend the guy, his video is a disgrace.

TheSalonGuy . In my humble collection I have two watches who embodied excellence, Omega and Rolex. Rolex, the Rolls Royce of watches.
Hmm. Is that really true? I mean, a CFO isn't going to say buying a Rolex is a terrible investment. Part of Rolex's sales pitch is they are investment watches, so of coarse he's going to say that. They hold some value better than other watches, but to suggest you could buy a Rolex that cost, say five grand, and you will actually make money when you sell it, seems a bit much. Occasionally you might luck out and make money because you have a watch that is highly desired for whatever reason, but most of the time you're going to lose money when you factor in inflation.
He gets an insane discount. A watch you buy retail at $15k has a resale value of about $20k. If you get a $15k watch for $5k, do the math. Not sure of the exact discount as he can’t disclose it fully, but long term they are a good investment.

Holy cow! Some years before I used to watch alpha. As a stupid pre-teen I tough his content was quality and revolutionary. Now after this I went back and watched some of the videos I considered good and MY GOD I was hella stupid. I'm glad this type of content on youtube still has people like you in it. I honestly am really into fashion these days and finding good honest people on youtube that not only make good content but also fight for what is right is rather refreshing. When I first got into Mens style I watched videos like Alpha M and Teaching Men's fashion. I even went as far as buying a brand that they recommended. Oh, boy was I wrong! The watch, first of all, came with the crappiest shipping available. Eventually, after 3 months, it arrived in some beautiful packaging. The hype died extremely quickly with the bezel which fell out in a week then the glass soon afterward. I was so disappointed with everything. Since then I bought a Timex Weekender, Casio, Seiko's and Tissot. I really learned my lesson from that experience and if you reading this don't fall the hype there are much better watches under $100 which you will be proud to wear. Stay away from MVMT, Vincero, and original crap!
I got 2 Vinceno watches an the quality for $120 is awesome, plus they look great. No complaints with them. The other 2 brands are complete ass lol.
Vincero might be the only watch brand they have promoted that isn't total garbage. A little over priced maybe but I've had one for almost 3 years now and the only thing that's happened after all this time of daily wear is the strap is starting to wear out.

There are tons of great value watches from very respectable brands for very affordable prices like Seiko, Timex, Citizen, etc. In my circle guys who own multiple rolex watches still drool over a nice Seiko 5 or an Orient Bambino. Its not really all about snobbery.
I really like these sorts of videos. RUclips needs someone like you who stands up for the consumer and tells the truth.

This is absolutely damaging to Alpha's brand. I was going to order a lot of his skincare and hair products. Then the MVMT video comes out and left me wondering if everything else he promotes is crap too. So, I'll be just going somewhere else for that stuff. Thanks for the video on calling Alpha out on his bullshit practices and sneaky behavior.

Samuel Meredith I used his skincare products for a few months, they are pretty good. But in my opinion, you can get products from brands like Bulldog which are cheaper and have the same effect. And some things he says are unnecessary, like that you need a moisturizer with SCF or that you need 2 moisturizer (one in the morning, one in the evening). You can, but it’s just not that much of a difference if you don’t.
God...you NAILED IT, Samuel. Same here. I was going to order his skin care line, but then I started seeing is methods. That guy will try to talk you into anything. Doesn't matter the quality. His skin care product and the Pete & Pedro products might be okay....but I'll never know. Because he lost credibility with me. I unsubscribed and I don't watch him anymore. I can learn about chino's and chukka boots and Thursday Boots and dark blue jeans and sport coats from a myriad of other quality channels. He doesn't even go that deep into the real in's and out's or history of clothing. His fitness advice (something I DO know a lot about) is horribly off the mark, and I've written comments on his site letting him know how messed up it is. And he's a gym owner....eesshh. Yeah, he really fell out of favor with me.

That could be why he went $500,000 in debt with his gym. I know a bit about fitness as well and much of what he would say just doesn't hold up. Even contradicting himself. And when called out on it, he would seem annoyed. At this point I just think he's really good at pretending to be the nice guy. When in reality he's just another money grubbing business man. I called him out on his bullshit and had many likes because of it. What really burns me is that the video prior to the MVMT vs Rolex, he talked about being a man is all about being genuine. I called him out and said that selling product for your video sponsor isn’t genuine at all.

Lolly Yep. There I countless times I disagree with him but I still love the guy even tho sometimes he goes a bit far when he said Petek Philippe was over priced and recommended Vincero insted.
His videos are 2/3 an ad for some shit i would never buy. His videos are mostly Like 5 tips. 4 of them are a minute long and then he starts talking about his sponsor for 4 minutes. He is a cool dude and All but he is such a sellout.
His content has gone downhill majorly the past half year which isn't surprising because he's busy with his other companies like P&P and TH. Most of his content is unoriginal and re-uploaded in a new format to fill space around the sporsor-segment.

Was just in the Rolex store in San Francisco. I was told it was about a 6 month wait for a stainless steel sports model.
Just buy Invicta. If you want high dollar high end buy a used swiss made tourbillion or a Patek Phillip or a Vacheron Constantin . New Rolex is overpriced. You want 18kt Gold? Buy a heavy Piaget or Bueche Girod watch.

I nearly bought a MVMT watch a long while ago (as my first watch ever) but I did some research online and stumbled across your first video reviewing MVMT. You turned me away from the brand and I picked up a Timex a day later. Thank you for the honest content!
It is kinda funny. This guy takes advertising revenue to advertise 5 dollar Chinese watches that have a 5000 percent mark up. Then he takes that cashola and buys a Rolex.

Yeah, but keep in mind that in certain conditions (like at school) you can't just pull a phone out so you need an alternative method of telling you the time. Now THERE a watch is a good idea. (I'm talking from experience.)

As far as reduced Rolex production goes in the States… I live in Detroit, Michigan and almost every dealer around me has said recently they have had trouble getting new inventory from Rolex. The largest Rolex dealer in my area only has a handful of stock left. Usually, they have a huge selection of serious pieces.
Not sure what it’s like in UK/EU.

Same here for sure, people think I hate sponsorships. I actually don't at all, so long as basic morals (like not lying) are adhered to. Aaron was just stupid to make this video and ever think it was a good idea

This is the video that finally got me to unsubscribe from Alpha M. I used to like his content but lately it just seems like he gets a sponsored products then he makes a video around it. His videos are so low effort that he doesn't even have an outro. They just end abruptly.

I finally unsubbed from Alpha and Teachingmensfashion because it was obvious they were both making video titles based on some data driven algorithm (perhaps the same one). 7 ways women are disgusted by you, 10 ways men repel women, 8 things women love on a man over and over again from both channels. First off, I thought these were fashion channels. I got out of my pick up artist phase when I was 22. secondly like I said above, the data driven patterns in clickbait titling are obvious and the content is repetitive and empty. It's possible to use algorithms on youtube to make money without becoming a steaming pile of content farm bullshit.
Yes, the content is now made for some weird plan that's for sure. It's 100% for cash now, not for real people, it's so disappointing
@@BenArthur Yep. And I even understand using data to improve viewership and make more money (7 HandM outfits? sign me up!). I'd do that too, but not at the expense of content and not to the level where title patterning is meaningless and transparent and I feel insulted by even clicking on them.

1- I never was a watch guy but then got into it, mainly because of UrbanGentry, great channel. After watching it i found a new found bond towards watches (Like cars ;)) something about wearing a timepiece man, not for the attention although that's a plus but it gets very personal. When you address the issue i only can say you have strong moral and ethics intact and they will carry you well as a man.
2- Timepieces with heritage it gives us a piece of history, the story it tells and how far we have come.
3- Addressing the "Availability" i can buy a Rolex on a retail watch outlet, Rolex retail outlet, channel partner of Rolex even Omegas for that matter. Movements? never saw a dedicated retail outlet for them, nor any partners, nor any shop for that matter.
4- About the money, when you get into timepieces you start to view life as a journey, so now i can and am planning to buy a Seiko 5 sng16k1 followed by Casio Gwm5610-1. My dream watches are of course the Rolex, Omega Seamaster which i will own one day. So you see the journey aspect really changes perspective.
5- When you wear a Rolex you be extra careful about it, would you leave your keys in a 1967 Shelby gt500? or a modern Bentley?
6- Plus its not negative, its standing up for yourself. Men do that.

@@Parocha disagree with The Urban Gentry. he's too calculated, constructed and rides the heritage of his ancestors. his video production and script is good tho. I prefer the plain content a delivery without any BS about anything (heritage, whoiam etc).
I don't see any hidden agenda in Ben's or MrSmelly's videos. they share passion and opinions, observations. MrSmelly has a wicked humour too.
