You made the perfect daily sleeper.
A nice Wavetrac LSD would be icing on the cake especially in lower grip situations in the winter. But yeah totally agree awesome VIP daily, makes me want to look into Nissan Presidents!
Sleeper? 300whp on a 4k+ pound car (including driver and gas) isn't much of a sleeper or that fast really. Have fun beating up on slow cars I guess? I'm sure you'll shock a few people but it won't be anyone in a truly fast car. Hp/weight just isn't there to make this a true sleeper to me, plus it has wheels and doesn't sound stock...so...no sleeper just a creeper
@@Pii-RuCryptoCuhThroat damn way to shit on the parade
You know the gent strapping the car down on the dyno is a real car guy because he's wearing grey sweats and works boots like there is not a camera filming him. Respect.
Hi
I belive PPE Headers are your next move to increase Power .... PPE say 20 plus BHP and Torque.
That's on a Stock LS430 ... Be interesting to see power levels with Supercharger .... Great Video as always
THIS..... We Need Headers
I would try this also
It would be interesting to see for sure. Would be great if they did this.
Agreed
@@quantumauto9421 are you the guys who tuned the ECU?
Man that completely transformed the car
Imagine an LS F!
I would totally be down to drive that!
Damn yes - didn't they have that in the movie "MIB International"? I know the car was a Lexus, but was unsure which one. The V8 in the LC 500 makes a sweet noise and the car itself looks epic!
The LS600hL had the 5.0 V8 from the ISF but with a hybrid system and a bunch of weight. I guess you could bypass it and then have a “LSF”
@@xellium5445 www.motor1.com/news/486069/lexus-lsf-lcf-isf-rumor/
It’s rumored that Toyota is making a 4.0TT V8 that will be put in the IS, LS, & LC
Yes! More Flexus content!
Nah, it’s still kind of old and slow. It’s fine, but we need to see some REAL JAM!
Right bro 😎
Not one like. lol
@@joeschmo4170 Right bro 😂🤣
👍 To your tuner (dyno operator) who knows how and why things are actually working, with the mechanical restriction to the bypass valve.
Man you guys make me happy to be Canadian! Sweet blower install. Im a ford fan but Im not a fan boy. I like cars in general. I dont care who's name is on it. Have a good weekend gentlemen! Cheers from Florida!
Fellow Canadian eh?
Our political leaders are a gong show, at least we have speed academy.
X-files theme plays
I need you guys for my sc400 build! 🇨🇦 hard to find 90's lexus experience near me
Time to look for an SVT supercharger for my LS430. That roar is beautiful.
Personally, as a GS 430 owner I really appreciate this. Taking notes! Headers in hand, cam to be ordered and a getting ECU from Quantum as well. Supercharger will be sourced after upgrading suspension. Again, much appreciated! If anyone ownes a GS, follow my build
Gotta say, this is my fave project from you guys! Absolutely love that it’s a clean, fast daily that’s unique with the supercharger fit.
Awesome ride, guys!
the gray grease is factory for the door seals. for the squeak from the seals we would use door ease lube stick. You apply it to the metal surfaces that the seals contact.
Those wheels look like the old Conquest TSI's. Another cool car.
It would be really cool to see an update in the future on this car with some headers, higher boost pulley setup, and a re-tune. That would make for a spicy rematch with the BMW.
Yes track battle them both. See how well they do. Who knows maybe they could have a good balance between being a good enough track car and a road worthy all rounder too. Track battles are my favourite content
I'm loving the Flexus. Next mod should be an interchiller and intercooler plate. Better mpgs and more power. Loving it.
whats an interchiller
Dad had a 430 some years back,he loved it.only got rid because fuel in the uk went up to near 1.50 a litre
Gotta convince the wife to sell her car to get an LS430 😁
I see by your profile picture you've succeeded 😌🥳
Those wheels make the car, looks perfect. Also, great stance on this thing - none of that silly pokey, slammed, nonsense. Great job! 👍
Always glad to get another video in this series!
I love Lexus because it's so smooth and quiet and solid feeling power.
That Flexus is so baller! Great look and now more power!!
Perfect timing. Was hoping to see the lexus again making more power!!!.
Drag Race 2.0!!! Also drag it with a stock LS430 to see how much faster it is!
This may seem crazy but I recommend changing the Camshaft timing tube assembly. Mine is bone stock and after changing it the car runs smoother, picked up a bit of power and feels lighter on its feet during city driving. These cam gears have a o ring inside that wears out that can cause a decrease in performance and worse a small oil leak. This is mostly common in the earlier LS430 and LS400.
Sweet! Love the bonus! I love that you guys film taking care of the little annoying tidbits that need attention.
We own a from new 2004 LS 430UL US spec and it is a forever car. 150K miles and still drives like new. The only issue that we've had was a failure in the driver's seat left thigh control and the M-L Radio biting the dust. My dealer says there are none of the radio units left on the planet unless we can find a used one. Aside from those issues, we've only performed standard scheduled maintenance.
Dave, dspite all of my expectations, you have really cracked it with your Lexus, Lowered and dressed as she is has allowed the car to take on a more assertive characxter. Backed up by the Supercharger, (the right choice for this elegant ride). Those wheels are a real standout. You should copyright the design. And the interior makes the Lexus the most British of the Japanese business class cars. Shades of Jaguar/Damlier. I'm envious.
Thanks, I'm super happy with how it's turned out. Tempting to keep developing it further but the slippery slope is real and I've been down that road enough times before to know it'll likely detract from my enjoyment of the car as a daily driver if I go too much further with it.
“It goes good aye?” 🤣💪
Eh*
This car looks amazing...and this sound...just awesome
Damn, I love the big Celica wheels.
You guys have hit a sweet spot with these budget builds.
Absolutely beautiful build brother!!! I'm a BMW guy but all in all this Lexus is absolutely amazing and a beast! I might have to get one for my weekend car!! Love ur chanel brother! Stay safe and God bless!
My second favorite car. The paint is amazing for the year.
My family had a couple old Toyota (80s/90s/00s) had such grease inside of rubber strip too! I'm told they're a kind of rust-prevention sealant.
I think the Flexus deserves a pulley and some Haltec + ethanol love. I want to see MOREEEE of this car please!
No ethanol in Canada 😔
@@amcox96 yes there is lol
Love these unique episodes where you guys follow through and get into details :) Big Smiles
Hell yeah boys I love this car, much love and support from Mississauga Ontario
That is one sweet car and I would love to own something like that. I live in the UK, where the Lexus brand at the time didn't really attract that much attention, so there aren't many LS 430's here, but you have made seriously think about getting one! One bonus for me is that the car was only made in the top spec for the UK market, so all the toys. Just to put a curve ball in here, it just so happens that I have my eye on another car - a Saab 9000 CDE currently pushing out +/- 270bhp and has been cared for. I must admit that I like a Saab, having owned two 9-5's, one of which was the 2.3 high output turbo Aero, an absolute dream to drive on the highway.
That's one of the nicest one of those I've seen, you guys took the time and did it right, that's everything I'd want in one of those bueatifuel cars.
That grease is OEM
"These aren't lap time cars." That just makes me want to see the lap times more!
Same. See how a daily streetable build fairs on the track and to hear their pros and cons for each.
Keep going with the flexus! Smaller pulley more fuel! Headers! 350 up! Make it a tire burner!
It really is a super daily driver DP, very classy, torquey etc. I'd leave it auto (even though I'm a manual hardcore guy) because it really suits the theme I'd say. Weirdly enough I miss the auto sometimes now that my e28 is a manual box in the traffic jams and everything.
Dang Dave! You look like you’ve lost more weight from the mid-section. Congrats on your gains and on the Fle-xus! Rematch with the M5-estate needed. Great vid.
I'm a Lexus technician, the A-pillars are simple to remove. You'll see the clip strap that holds the top of the A-pillar in. Pull it out to the hook stop, grab the strap with long reach needle nose pliers, twist and the top of the A-pillar will come off.
Flexis FTW! Auto and everything!! LSD only for the track. Relatively easy upgrade, no? I am tempted to get this setup!
Now you can do a 4.7 bottom end swap for the final power adder! No replacement for displacement! 💪
Such a beautiful car you guys have built!
Coming from someone who use to work for Toyota R&D, that "lube"/ grease is factory to hold the weather stripping in place. Or for mechanics to wear once they've been removed and you forget that the sealant is there. lol
Bro an absolute joy to watch every second of the vid . I believe u have done the car some justice !!
As someone currently attempting a 3uz swap I'm drooling at the Elate intercooled supercharger manifold +supercharged tune. But I'd be tempted to go for big power and that would blow my budget! Aaaahhh
I love this car! I already knew how sophisticated it is, because I looked hard at buying one a few years ago. Didn't quite fit my needs, unfortunately. But Lexus and Genesis are the only car companies I trust to make extremely complicated luxury cars truly reliable. If I were to go for another sports sedan, I'd be happy to duplicate this car.
such a sick build! thank you so much for doing this!!!
The Flexus is so nice. I do miss an auto every once in a while. I havent had one in like 20 years.. i should get a daily auto. Like this lexus, minus the supercharger though haha
Now you should get a set of headers for the car. Loved this series, I am glad you are enjoying the car so much.
Man, love those wheels remind me of the stock wheels on the second gen Supra’s.
I think the next step should be headers as well. Maybe a comparison of header with/without cat delete would be some interesting content. Also you should consider doing a video on installing/tuning/rematch after a STANDALONE ECU. I think it’s obvious this car needs to be tweaked on the dyno to get the most out of it. And maybe even adding a smaller pulley and an intercooler. I think people really have a big interest in the Ls430 content.
Such a great sleeper!! It made some good power. Now front mount it!
Dave, are you tuned on 94 Octane? You should re-tune on 94 octane plus VP Octanium you should be well over 300whp. Great looking and performing car. Your friend from Fortinos.
Being lean can really hurt your throttle tip in, if the fuel pump and injectors aren’t maxed out ask for some more fuel, it should really smooth out the throttle especially in the transient area from vacuum to boost.
Awsome job guys 👍👍 I really like how the Lexus turned out. I would enjoy this as a daily and I’m sure my kids would too.
Awesome solution for that acceleration issue!
Sounds like a beast! When I get mine up in the revs in manual shift mode, I don't feel the need for more power, since I'm passing other cars like they're standing still and flying up hills. Some people want more passing grunt right off the bottom because they never use the 6sp in manual mode in 4th - which feels like you have NOS vs auto mode in 6th. Great work!
Music is super on point in this one!
at the top of the A pillar is just a black plastic stick that is twistable with long needle noses and once you line up the top of it and pull the A pillar will come right out without breaking anything
You keep refining and perfecting the Ls I was fan ...now I want one
This car is so fucking gangster. I love it so much
I love this build. Its the ultimate DD. Would love to see this run against my GS460, it would be a pretty even match.
The solution to having working FM radio is a generic antenna available at auto part stores. You can probably get a hidden model and stash it in the dash... it might not get the best reception but it'll work
I want this on my next LS430. I want it like hell!
I heard you can put a light coat of petroleum jelly on the door seals to stop them from making noise. It's common on Del Sol roof panels to keep them from squeaking and prevent water seepage.
the black tar like grease is to keep moisture from getting behind the seal, had to put it on some boot seals in a recall for water in the boot.
The reason for that weird clip on the a pillar is for the side impact bag. The paste is also factory to I think , my RX350 has is there to.
The ‘lube’ in the seal is quite normal on Euro cars, it’s normally thicker and sticker to act as a seal against capillary driven water leaks and keeping the seal in place... not sure if it’s the same.
The speedometer blur though...breaking the law, breaking the law!
Canada is like Mexico, no speed limits up here.
Also every time I see those wheels😍😍
First time I saw them, I was like:
"I don't know, it's not really my style..."
But now:
"I'm lovin' them... They are just PERFECT"
They look good spinning, but look a bit too angular to me at rest. For a luxury/sport ride, they aren't any improvement over the factory sport kit's 18"s with sticky rubber.
Fo reals tho
this car/vlog introduced me to ths channel i came across at homepage. i subscribed in sec !!!
I still think you should do a nice LSD but I think you’ve really balanced the car perfectly between comfort and sport/performance.
They may not be track cars but it would be awesome to see what a little suspension damper tuning can due to help handling but keep the luxurious ride. Also something like a Wavetrac LSD would help when driving in the winter yet keep great driveability!
I know you said you dont need the antenna, but why not a small aftermarket hidden under the dash? Just for completeness. Nice work also 👍
Love this car! Makes me want to build mine the same way!😫😫😫
Tha grease under the door opening seal is from the factory, Toyota does it too on some models. I can only assume it's a rust preventative measure.
That "grease" under the door jam seal is factory. Helps to seal it which in turn helps corrosion. A lot of cars use that unfortunately. Very messy and impossible to get out of fabric
Love this series, one of the best of your channel, please keep making content of these cars, or some similar 👍
My MP62 bypass valve has a small orifice to bleed in boost smoother. Came that way stock.
Smaller pulley from pulley boys (GM m90 pulley) and a T2 Torsen LSD
The combination or a UZ roar and supercharger wine is quite something.
Although I kind of expected the supercharger to whine a slightly higher.
Such a good looking car
You should do a super charger install on a panther platform- Crown Vic/MGM/TC
Yup squeaky door seals were a major issue with these cars and people lube up those areas like that. mine is no exception to the squeak lol
Flexus is back baby!!! This is the only reason I subbed !!!
the flexus is awesome!
Would be interesting to see the power a 3UZ-FE can make with a supercharger, headers and a Complete 3 inch catless exhaust system
The wheels go perfect on this car.
Amazing! This is such a complete package. Now all you need is an LSD to put the power down or lay down some fat lines
You cannot get away with grandpa grey flannel and that interior with a 6 speed and LSD. 👨🏻🦳
Black on black FTW
I swear you drove by me the other day in Grimsby sounds amazing!!🔥
Yup, I was in Grimsby a few times last week. Were in a pickup truck with some speed shop stickers in the back window? I caught a glimpse of you waving as you drive by.
@@speedacademydave that you remember this and know this person is the one you saw, blows my mind
I thought Grimsby was a seaside town in England.
@@93455Driver it probably is. A lot of towns in Canada take their names from the UK. Commonwealth country and all that. We have the Queen on our money too 🤷♂️
This is super intriguing seeing as my similar platform is close to that power level naturally aspirated. Gotta source a m112 now lol
That shot from the back on the dyno looks just like an S-class
