I am always so deep in the engine bay it just tries to break my back. Glad I only own e46 parts and not a whole e46. The e30 hood is almost as fun when the strut fails though.

But, DP, with this supercharger build, you have cemented my desires of buying an old Lexo and building the Vippu carnival yacht of my dreams. They're good, but I've seen a few dumb mistakes over the years to where I've been like "what are they thinking" or "how did they miss that" and I'm just a guy who took autoshop in high school and have wrenched on my own cars since 2000.
@@Pube83 they never said they are professionals and even in this video, they are saying that they would bring in a pro for the job. Atleast they admit they are not experts in the field and embarrass themselves later.
I’ve watched you guys from the point where you started fixing all the shocks breaks and everything up to the supercharger, I’ve subscribed and liked and commented, I like how you guys take your time to properly make these modifications, I wouldn’t hesitate to ask you guys to work on my LS. Your videos inspired me to have courage and to have fun with restoring and modifying. Your LS looks amazing at this point and I can’t wait to see it finished and in action.

With the doublenut trick, what I usually see another RUclipsr that uses this trick do is hold the top nut with another wrench so it's not backing out when the bottom one is turning. Keep a little opposite tension on the top one that way
A friend of mine has a 3uz swapped early land cruiser, he did this 5 years ago, used a smaller charger drive pulley it runs10psi boost with ethanol spray above 4psi boost . It makes 450hp at the wheels with max torque from 1800 to 5600 rpm
I'll not be doing that anytime soon but great job :) One tiny thing I don't know if you have done it yet but the LS430 is prone to a problem with the radiator that can let water into the gearbox that can fail - and a replacement radiator is recommended for peace of mind (I'll be doing mine very soon) I've already done the timing belt (also recommended every 60,000 or so) although not bothered changing the gearbox oil as I dont do the mileage.
This is really interesting! I'm digging the idea of building a car with the best tech that "almost" fits and making it work. But I had to laugh at D.P.'s comment about making work ... because for a bunch of guys that "don't like to make work" you really know how to "make work". Keep it up, it's always enjoyable to see you get a project built!

Do it man. I just bought a 2001 LS 430 with 190,000 miles on it for $3200 and it’s perfect. It didn’t have any of the problems that they described on their’s thankfully.

you can cut off that bit of fuel line if you can flare the line's and use fittings similar to ones used on brake lines to patch in a new section of line... bring out a TIG of MAPP torch and braze the new section of line on to the fuel rail fittings.
Tip for anyone who needs to hack up a super charger like this and doesn’t have access to a mill but owns a router . Cut a bit of board to act as a guide template for the router, anything that a bearing bit can smoothly run against that is not too thick will do space it off the flange and screw it down then use the router at its slowest suitable speed to cut the casing away neatly. Using a router with a guide template will achieve a clean neat job with no risk of destroying the bits you want to keep.

My e46 has the same hood with the integrated grill. Hit my head a few times on it. Builds character through brain damage.

For the double nut method, make sure theyre aligned and use a deep socket over both of them and then loosen.

VMP makes a upgraded blower for the 03 04 cobras. I wonder if it fits this application.

My gs430 flat out moves! I put stainless headers on it and thought about a blower. Its been done for a long time.

Sold Fords in '03 and loved all the SVTs, even the NA FOCUS w/ the 6spd. So cool to be able to put the Cobra screws in my 04 LS. Maybe after 200k mi.

Since no one from what I’ve seen mentioned it, the music during the time lapse of cutting the blower is “Got Me Stone Cold” by Tape Machines
