    I know this is an older video but a bit of advice. The overclock profile from these companies often runs with some very high voltages. I would HIGHLY recommend doing some stress testing while monitoring the temps to make certain your temps are reasonable. High temps can lead to your cpu thermal throttling; leading to worse performance and shorter lifespan.

    • @alexzero3736
      @alexzero3736 Год назад +6

      Actually, modern motherboard wont allow this. System wont start if throttling is detected.

    Everyone has their own liking for setting up fan curves, but what I did was set the CPU fan curve and one fan port curve to match. Then used a 4 pin PWM fan controller that I hook up all my fans then hook the controller up to that one fan port on the board. As the CPU fan rises so does all the other fans to match. I know some claim negative air flow is best, but for me I'd rather have zero air flow restriction as much as possible... but that's just my opinion.

    Dont forget that you need to run your FCLK at half your memory bandwidth example (3733Mhz 1867 FCLK) if you're using a ryzen CPU. Undervolting is typically fine it's when you start overvolting then it gets dangerous. Also overclocking memory and messing with timings can cause corruption.. I recently built my last system with an MSI Z390-A Pro with an Intel Pentium Gold Coffee Lake G5400 Duel Core 3.7Ghz Processor! 64 GB DDR4 3200 Ram and a GeForce GTX 1650 Video Card! I use this system for Adobe Video Editing! Besides ticking the XMP & GAME BOOST button with FAN set to Auto, what else can I do to Overclock this system? I was told by MSI that This is basically a budget gaming board that cannot be manually overclocked? Any advise Would be greatly appreciated!

    Why would some of those options to click on in the advanced setting not be available? Both mine and your bios is the same. For instance in Power management setup I don't have the usb standby power option to click on.

    ive been trying to get this message across to folks for literal years. OCing is not dumb. Expecting it to turn your PC into god mod is dumb. Learning how to talk to your hardware and correct these one size fits all set and forget default configs or a mobos "we need the highest clocks so it advertises better, who cares if it could blow the cpu into pieces". Educate yaself before you conflagrate yaself. yaself.

    I prefer to build a system for a specific play resolution of adequate power/quality running stock that I don't need to stress components with overclocking. I also build them so I don't have to touch/upgrade them for their designated lifetime of use (or beyond to whoever will end up using it when I move to my next system). I'm currently building a 1440p system this month, & retiring my still-rocking 1080p 2019 gaming build system. My 1440p build will pair the efficient little powerhouse Ryzen 9 7900 12C/24T GPU with the cool, quiet running ASUS TUF version of the 7800 XT, since those two are a great pair for a no-bottleneck robust 1440p gaming system.

    Small warning to future people:
    XMP is an overclocking feature and turning it on can cause system instability, void your CPU warranty and may require some fiddling to get just right. Really make sure you know your CPUs maximum memory speed, as well as your RAMs max speed and its compatability (if its Intel XMP or AMD Expo).
    In my case, the default XMP Profile boosted the memory speed too high and caused some LEDs on the Motherboard to turn on, while also significantly slowing down boot time. And for general purpose computer usage and normal gaming, you usually don't need XMP enabled.
