thank you so much for this guide, I don't have any idea what to do when it comes to BIOS stuff despite gaming on a pc for 10 + years. you came in so clutch
super helpful video 👍 i was very nervous about updating the bios because everywhere will tell you it’s a risky/ dangerous process. this video made it super simple. thanks
Thank you very much bro! liked and subbed. This guide really helped and fixed my pc as I was having some instability issues with some games due to 13th gen intel cpu support needed bios update.
Here’s a quick fix that worked for me to enter the bios when I kept getting a black screen. If you’re using a wireless keyboard, simply switch to a wired keyboard and spam the del key when restarting.
Thanks, great help. For days, I've failed because I used an MSI BIOS update on my Corsair Vengeance; only when I realized Corsair has its own unique BIOS updates did I make progress! That said, I still hit a wall with my new 4 x sticks of 16 GB DDR5 7200 RAM sticks (replacing 2 x 16GB DDR5 4800); they simply won't allow the machine to boot even with BIOS updates and changes. Grrrrr.
You sir are ficking amazing. If I could kiss you I would! I was so worried on doing this and you have been one of the best videos to show how to do it. Bless you man
@@powerfulbadboy2986 Because i have an OEM Desktop from MSI , Press Windows + R, type msinfo32, and hit Enter and search for System Model , in my chase Z390 Gaming Infinite X Plus 9 (MS-B916), copy and past it on browser and access the manufacturer page. not computer literate here but can i just download the bios from the website or do i have to go through all this coz i gotta admit, ill probably screw my pc following this ive also followed your instructions concerning finding out the manufacturer, product and version but all it says is "Microstar international Co. Ltd, "B760 GAMING PLUS WIFI (MS-7D98) and VERSION 3.0 so i cant find it on the MSI website and ive chucked the box away thinking these things will auto update as and when they become available
Is it by chance a beta build? Regardless, if you havent already, I would revert back to the previous BIOS version you were on to see if the issue persists. If it wasnt happening before the update but you noticed it right afterwards, good chance reverting back could fix it. If you cant access file explorer, you'll need to take your USB to another device and download BIOS files from there. Also, if you were updating to begin with because of issues on your old BIOS, I would run command prompt as administrator (Win + R on keyboard, then type cmd.exe in the box and press enter) and enter the following one at a time: sfc /scannow (then hit enter, let the file scan complete to 100%) dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth (then hit enter) Once those are done, reboot your pc and see if the issue persists. If all else fails, reinstall windows.
I have the msi b650 gaming plus wifi and it says the bios is in January 2022. If i click on the latest one would this fully update it. @GarrettMiller-y6q
I've had this issue before. Sometimes certain motherboards aren't released for consumers but as a bulk production for some system builders (like cyberpower) What i did to get around this was just Google the exact name of my motherboard. And that took me to the hidden page I needed to get my drivers and bios update
Hey I updated my bios for the msi pro b760-p wifi ddr4 and after the update I'm getting about 90/100 less fps in all my games I have a 4090 and a i7-14700f any help would be appreciated

Should i keep my bios on the beta version or better to update it? Also do you need to safely eject your usb when updating the bios?

And yes I downloaded the file, formatted the flash, my flash drive is smaller than 32gb and I plugged it in right port

Apparently the drive has to be 32gb
We have to select the version infront of our cpu or above that ??

how can you tell what series your laptop is, idk if its MEG, MPG, MAG or PRO

I did this in advance of me getting a new cpu that needed to be flashed on my motherboard. Will I be fine or do I have to do it again

does the USB need to be 32gb
Yeah 32 GB or under
FAT32 format
You don't have to partition it to 32 gb. Just fat32

Thank you so much. The MSI video did not help at all. :P
lol true
do we have to keep the flash drive in the computer afterwards? or can we remove it?
once you updated your bios and everything is showing and working then yes you can unplug it
