MSI seems to have a new process for updating BIOS without the need for M-flash and USBs. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I just downloaded the latest version of my BIOS (PRO Z790-A MAX WIFI) saved it to my desktop, unzipped the file, and it now has an 'MSI ME FW tool' option that appears to complete the update process by just clicking on the tool and following the step-by-step process. I have not tried it yet and can't find any information on if it can be done this way, as I dont want to screw something up. If it works it can be a game changer for skipping the M-flash process.

@@superduperbob Just format it another way? lol. Of course, my point is that MSI shouldn't use a system that isn't supported. Not all of us have an extra PC lying around for such an occasion. Just happened I found an older thumb drive lying around because they all used to be sold as FAT32. But the new ones... this isn't the case. I went through 4 thumb drives until I found an older one.

There’s always been similar ways to update BIOS but I wouldn’t, it’s the most risky way, if it crashes half way through it’s just a headache to repair

When should you update your bios?
Every year at least especially if you are using high end cpu’s
Nice tip
Whats that little button in the back that you press for bios? Why i dont have that on my motherboard?
Says unable to start a secure flash session
Can we update the Beta version or should we wait for the final version of any BIOS to be released?
You can get the beta version, I just recommend you stick to a non-beta version as they're still testing that BIOS 😊

why is beta bios not recommended? just curious
bios is like a small software for motherboard.and beta is never optimize. thats why he recommend to do it so that you dont mess with your pc.
my usb memory stick isnt showing in bios my motherboard is from a pre built msi pc im having a notification that my 13th or 14th gen cpu needs updating and so does the bios what should i do?
Update windows first. Buy a new flash drive at least 32g, make sure you’re not using wireless keyboard/mouse for flash
Can i format it in exFAT? My usb only does exFAT or NTFS
im not an expert but im pretty sure if your usb is over 32 gb it cant format to fat32. to be safe i wouldnt do it
