I know this is an old video, but I found it researching issues with a motherboard I have purchased for a budget build. Long story short the BIOS Firmware that comes preinstalled often times will not work as is so, it needs a better version installed. I used to build components on a regular basis, but it has been at least 10 years since I have built anything so I just wanted to make sure I could still do it. Your video came up after a review of the motherboard I purchased, so big brother is still listening ha ha ha. Thanks for the video it has been most helpful.
Your source is absolutely right, I've found your tutorial by searching how to update my bios. And the reason is: I've build my new gaming PC using ASRock b650m pg riptide and pairing it with a Ryzen 5 7600x. Turns out some AMD's CPU's have problem with fTPM module. So around May, 2022, AMD has sent patch to motherboard manufacturers to issue bios version which rectify this error, but as it turns out that ASRock didn't do this I had horrible stuttering trouble. New version of bios is coming out and I'm educating myself 😊 There is one more solution, to buy TPM module myself, there is a port to install it directly to motherboard, there is some process to follow but is also a viable workaround to my problem. Anyway thank you for the video! 🤗
I am bored so went to Dell website to see if my computer needs drivers update and the only thing in the menu is Bios update, since my computer is working fine I went to youtube, landed here and decided to leave it alone. Thank you
Thanks for the solid and fleshed out info and succint but not rushed step by step walkthrough. Earned yourself a sub 👍 I bought a Corsair Vengeance 6182 pre-built rig last year during the lockdown ( 3700x + 5700xt + X570 inside a Corsair 280x case) and I'm upgrading to a 5950x w/ a larger AIO this weekend and a RTX 3090 (whenever I can get my hands on one down the line lol)
This was very helpful and you helped me update my motherboard so I can use 4.6ghz instead of 4.3ghz. I searched on RUclips how to update the bios and found your video, 😊

I finally did my bios update for asus b350f for the first time!! I’m changing my processor from a ryzen 5 1600 to a 3600. The longest 5 mins of my life but I took the risk and did it!! Can wait for my new cpu
Nice! I just finished building my PC and it won't post. I'm running ryzen 7 3700x on Asus Rog Strix x370 gaming F, I both this as an upgrade pair from a pc shop and clearly they didn't flash the latest BIOS for this x370 board to be Ryzen 3000 ready... Sigh now have to wait and see if the people I bought from will help me update bios, because I do not have older cpu.
I came to this video because I was looking for a reason why my additional 16 GB of RAM are not recognized and why I don't see my installed to motherboard additional 4TB of HDD. Bing recommended your video and I had fun watching the full thing.
After installing a new hard drive, you need to initialize and format the drive before Windows will recognize it and show it in Windows explorer. I actually have a video to help with that. ruclips.net/video/PRuOuv-fT7g/видео.html

I have a Ryzen 9 5900X and it won't run on my Asus Tuf Gaming 570 Plus (Wifi). I ripped my Ryzen 5 5600G from the computer I'm retiring (because it's a pre-build and I wanted to build my own PC and this is the first PC I built) just so I can setup the computer the way I want to set it up. I'm migrating and organizing everything as we speak. I'll update you in the next upcoming weeks. Thank you for this video, I appreciate it. Now to go update my BIOS and hopefully nothing go wrong (however rolling black outs isn't a problem I have so I should be fine).
Thank you man very much. For once i dont have to aimlessly look through utube figuring out how to do something. This was the most helpful video ive seen to date
The reason I found this YT video was my ASUS M/board had the MS health check which told me that I did not have a TPM module. So now I've bought one - (SPI-TPM), I researched and found that the M/board BIOS may not support the SPI-TPM. So before I fitted it, That's the reason I watched your video, and I took onboard all your "cautions" re updating a M/board. The old saying "that, - if it's not broke don't fix it" applies sometimes but not in my case, without the TPM I can't update to Windows 11.
You can also Find version of Bios using Windows without rebooting 1. Press Windows Key with R simutaneously 2. Now type msinfo32 and click on OK 3. Here you will find BIOS version on the right side of the scree and bunch of other information.
I found your video, because I wanna do my first pc build with the AMD Ryzen 3 2200ge. And I am doing all my homework, before actually commencing the build, which involves a BIOS update just in case lol.
this is an old video wow ... i just bought this cheap Colorful b450m motherboard brand new and surprise-surprise, didn't support my ryzen 5 4650G (a weird choice but i got it super cheap & brand new), and yeah, found the website and everthing, and now just trying to update it, thank you for the video~
Here's an odd reason why I had to update my BIOS: Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War wasn't running on my PC all of a sudden after working since launch, it was literally resetting my PC when I tried to launch it. I tried all troubleshooting I possibly could until I found this video, installed the latest BIOS, and like magic it now works again. So apparently software compatibility issues can require a BIOS update too!
Found this due to being a first time pc build coming up and have been watching several videos and wanted to know how/if I needed to update the bios. Up until about 2 weeks ago I didn’t even know what bios was or what went into a computer other then a processor and power and ram. I am not even putting a gpu in due to budget but will later on. And this is for one of my kids so I don’t want to do something that might delay the use and waste money. For what my kid will doing is basic school and Minecraft. But I wanted to learn how to build a computer this why I didn’t want to just buy a pre-built.
@@Maraksot78 I plan on a second build at some point down the road and will use this one as a reference of what went good and what went bad. But loved the video you made and was very helpful as a new person to building a pc.
To answer your question at the end of the video - I'm curios to know if I need to update my BIOS. I've already upgraded my RAM and graphics card no problem, everything was recognized instantly. But, you know, I'm super nervous about that and now I'm looking forward into upgrading my CPU and storage. So, here I am.
I found this video through a search. I bought a PC off a friend and it has issues running games. Any time I start a game or an application, the PC freezes after about a minute. Just to be clear it doesn't crash, the computer stays on, but the screen freezes and my mouse and keyboard do nothing. I have tried everything at this point and I heard updating my motherboard's bios might solve it.
I'm not in need of a BIOS update since my PC seems fine, but DELL periodically sends me emails requesting for me to go to the link they provide at their site and perform the update. They make it seem as if it's as easy as a typical Windows update and say I can keep working on my PC while the update is occurring! I remember the days when it was just as you described in your video, so though I'm tempted, it's not worth the aggravation of bricking my PC when it's not even clear to me what the benefit might be.
Excellent video. Updated Bios so my B450 MSI gaming plus would be compatible for the 5800x3d chip. Didn't know the steps needed to complete this. Thanks for your help. I liked and subscribed.
I'm here because i bought new ram a 4 stick 32gb kit of Corsair RGB Vengeance PRO and I'm worries that my x470 MSI gaming pro carbon might not recognize them and what to do if it doesn't and that's to update the bios and I haven't updated this baby since i bought it back in October of 2018. so thanks to you now i will know the first this to do if it doesn't work recognize my ram
I found this video because I'm building a pc for a friend of mine with a GA-A320M-S2H gigabyte mobo and a 1600 af and for some reason when I turn on the pc it just won't display anything and boot to bios. I tried a different psu, different ram, one stick of ram, tried displaying through both the mobo and gpu and tried different monitors. The only thing I haven't checked in the process of elimination is the cpu so hopefully when I try to place a 1st gen ryzen in the system it will boot and I will just have to update the bios. Thank you for the tutorial! I hope I get to the point where it fixes my issue
Thanks, I plan to build a PC in a couple of weeks and plan to use a 13th gen intel cpu and will likely need to update the motherboards BIOS to make it compatible if it isn't already.
Very well presented. Danger areas emphasised. Comment about choosing USB Slot at the back of computer very relevant. And you don’t sound like a cowboy!
I hadn't done this in 10 years, the main reason there hasn't been a real need to. I had believed it was Windows 10 but this is a duel boot UEFI system and UBUNTU showed the same signs. Finally my ASRock UEFI seemed to loose USB functions then SATA and I had a new Brick. I couldn't understand what happened, maybe a virus, hardware, or NVME M.2. I thought BIOS but decided to just build another. Watching this video, and most importantly, because it was complete and there were no others well made, "thank you". I'm set and will try the Flash later. P.S I subscribed, Clicked the "bell for all and look forward for more.
There's some Good and Bad to this lesson. I will share the GOOD 1st, Yes the lesson worked and everything is Purring. in desktop land. ASRock fatality, X370 Pro is stronger than ever. Super-super, extremely well taught Video. However the sad side is I need a case and power supply As I said earlier I purchased a new MB, RAM and Processor to fill the void of the downed Computer and it's great, yet I simply can't part with the ASRock that needed a BIOS update. There can be only one way to remedy this, You. I seem to have noticed or seem to think you sell what I need. If so and you do, to show my appreciation fill in the store front and I'll get in touch for supplies
Found you by accident looking for bios updating\flashing tutorials for an old Dell laptop that restarts once it gets into windows and then goes into a boot loop.
This is how i stumbled upon your video.... i have a 2700x on a x570 auros pro wifi... i bought a 5900x that i thought of replacing my 2700x for, but i am not an awesome tech dude ( like i would love to be) so i didnt want to run the risk of messing up my MB. So i thought of maybe building a new PC from scratch for the 5900x. I like what you said about not really having to update if not needed nor changing tech just cuz. now im just thinking of replacing the 2700x for the 5900x but i didnt know if i had to update my MB bios to be able to swap my 2700x for my 5900x......

New version of bios is coming out and I'm educating myself 😊
There is one more solution, to buy TPM module myself, there is a port to install it directly to motherboard, there is some process to follow but is also a viable workaround to my problem.
Anyway thank you for the video! 🤗
extremely helpful video i also passed out waiting for the update to finish
I am bored so went to Dell website to see if my computer needs drivers update and the only thing in the menu is Bios update, since my computer is working fine I went to youtube, landed here and decided to leave it alone.
Thank you
Thanks for the solid and fleshed out info and succint but not rushed step by step walkthrough. Earned yourself a sub 👍
I bought a Corsair Vengeance 6182 pre-built rig last year during the lockdown ( 3700x + 5700xt + X570 inside a Corsair 280x case) and I'm upgrading to a 5950x w/ a larger AIO this weekend and a RTX 3090 (whenever I can get my hands on one down the line lol)
You just earned your self a new subscriber
Just got my parts, and I have experienced assembling pc but that that was about 5 years ago in my school. Now I have my own. Thanks this was helpful.
Bro thank you so much I was starting to lose hope but thank god I saw your video thanks man just subscribed
Just purchased a ryzen 3 3100 and needed to update my bios this really helps!
Man, you're very insightful and not speaking jibberish since I relatively new to trying to learn all this. Subbed with Notifications on.
This was very helpful and you helped me update my motherboard so I can use 4.6ghz instead of 4.3ghz. I searched on RUclips how to update the bios and found your video, 😊
Thanks! :) I like your profile icon! Can't afford one but I want one. XD
@@Maraksot78 Haha thanks. My hobby is electronic devices and technology. I'm 15 years old and built my own PC. I've learned so much this year. I have A.D.D and as you explain in your videos really help me understand it easier. I know my English isn't perfect but at least I tried. Have a great day!
Very cool. Congrats on building your first PC build. I love building computers. I think it's a lot of fun. I'm happy to hear my video was helpful to you. Your English is quite good I couldn't tell it isn't your first language. I wish you the very best in your future endeavors. Cheers. :)
Sorry I forgot:excellent tutorials you do.
But may you can mention that it seems to be better to update the BIOS first, before installing the new CPU.
I finally did my bios update for asus b350f for the first time!! I’m changing my processor from a ryzen 5 1600 to a 3600. The longest 5 mins of my life but I took the risk and did it!! Can wait for my new cpu
Congrats man. I know the anxious feeling as your BIOS updates and you hope there's no freak power outage. Enjoy that Ryzen 5 3600. :)

Easy, all you have to do is download more RAM.
Just changed from an i7 7700k to a new i9 10850k and this was super helpful thanks mate!
found the video using google, I will need at some stage to change my computer cpu as it is not windows 11 compatible. I just doing the home work learning the different things I need to do to have successful upgrade of the computer. thanks for the clear instructions in the video.
Thankyou without this I would be in tears
thank you, just put together pc and wanted to make sure bois was up to date , this was very helpfull and easy to understand.
Thank you, didn’t need to do anything just wanted to be a bigger tech nerd :)
Many thanks for the video, just purchased Ryzen 5 3600x for my setup and was having real probs getting it working, windows wouldn't boot, black screen etc, thought I had latest bios but guess not and you've help me alot..😉
hey can you help me please i just got 3600x and got black screen
do i have to put old cpu back in?
I looked to do a bios update because I have bought 2 P7P55D LE motherboards that are new and I'm going build 2 computers from them using some used and some new parts..As I have never even built a computer before I am taking on a big job lol.. Hopefully thx to the helpful youtube videos I have been able to find my way around some older computers.
Thanks for your help; I am looking to build a PC and my cpu and motherboard required a possibility of updating of the bios.
Glad to hear the video helped you out. :)
I'm planning on buying one of the new Ryzen CPUS and some beef RAM to support my gaming and art. Installing parts? No biggie. Updating the motherboard bios? I'm terrified. Thank you for this video, it's the most helpful one I've found on this topic by far!!
First video I seen was on my cpu and then this one helped me out as well thanks for this videos
I'm thinking of upgrading to a new cpu as my cpu rn is really bad so I'm searching for all info for it thank you so much!
Great video, and his guy reminds me of Moo Snuckel... am I the only one thinking this??
Thank for the great information. I searched how to update bios because I need to update mine since I'm going to a i7-8700k on my z370-e
Found your video by searching similar to the title, I want to update my bios on my mb to support Gen 3 ryzen
Looking to upgrade my cpu for my birthday getting the Ryzen 5 3600 and this really saved me.
Did it work
@@ryou6453 Yh sure just need to know your motherboards name and a usb stick and that’s all you need took no longer than 20 minutes
Noah Sengupta can I ask what mother board you have?
@@ryou6453 Yh sure i have the asus a-k320 it’s a budget motherboard but works fine, why?
Noah Sengupta oh I’m planning to bios update but idk what verision i need to update it to I have a ASRock b450m pro4-f........ using r5 3600
You can also Find version of Bios using Windows without rebooting
1. Press Windows Key with R simutaneously
2. Now type msinfo32 and click on OK
3. Here you will find BIOS version on the right side of the scree and bunch of other information.
I found your video, because I wanna do my first pc build with the AMD Ryzen 3 2200ge. And I am doing all my homework, before actually commencing the build, which involves a BIOS update just in case lol.
michael Persaud yo same lmao but I’m getting a 3200g
@@twinchrome3258 lol I'm still undecided man all my part I gatto import to Guyana. Plus I wanna have upgradability.
michael Persaud true, I’m still split between the 2200 and 3200 lol
this is an old video wow ... i just bought this cheap Colorful b450m motherboard brand new and surprise-surprise, didn't support my ryzen 5 4650G (a weird choice but i got it super cheap & brand new), and yeah, found the website and everthing, and now just trying to update it, thank you for the video~
So apparently software compatibility issues can require a BIOS update too!
about ready to pull the trigger on building my first PC. AMD 5000 series will probably need a bios update. just educating myself.
Because I can’t put in my 3900x also I have the same motherboard so this makes things so easy
very simple, direct to the point. GREAT VIDEO !
Really helpful! Thanks a bunch! I searched for this cuz im building a my first PC.
Welcome to the PC DIY community. 🙂 Be careful it's kind of addicting and can get very expensive. 😂 Best of luck to you man.
@@Maraksot78 I plan on a second build at some point down the road and will use this one as a reference of what went good and what went bad. But loved the video you made and was very helpful as a new person to building a pc.
Always happy to hear when one of my videos helps someone out. Enjoy. :)
This is a great video good job on explaining it!! :)
Glad it was helpful!
Updating bios for Ryzen 5000 this was the 100th video that I watched but it was very helpful, 🙏
Thanks for putting that comment now I can update it fo my 7 5800x
For new system and I have never done it before not nervous about making it just worried about the updates because idk if something is gonna go wrong
I'm upgrading my cpu and graphics, this video really helps. Keep on making content.
Excellent video. Updated Bios so my B450 MSI gaming plus would be compatible for the 5800x3d chip. Didn't know the steps needed to complete this. Thanks for your help. I liked and subscribed.
Lux! Bingo! Grate video! Fantastig edition and coverd topic!!
That's a pretty new baord, I'm confident you'll be fine. Shouldn't need to update your BIOS.
Thank you I am going to follow this step by step. I've done some of just to see the steps. Okay, thank you again for a simple way for beginners.
I find this video in good I typed how to update BIOS. Thank you very helpful definitely i`m subscribing to your channel.
Amazingly you placed the pen drive in right next to the slot with the word BIOS! you know the white slot that is dedicated to BIOS updates
On point my man! Nice work! Just keep it up.
Very well presented. Danger areas emphasised. Comment about choosing USB Slot at the back of computer very relevant. And you don’t sound like a cowboy!
Thank you made my motherboard easy to uodate by just following awesome
Great job explaining the risks involved with doing this. I sure hope my power doesn't randomly go out!
That's how you do a guide. Thank you!
Thank you. That's very kind of you. 🙂
Thanks for the vid!
I want to upgrade my Girlfriend's Desktop so I end up here. Thank you very much.
