I started taking Lugol's iodine after some abnormal TSH tests. Game changer. I'm not into the theory that 1 thing makes a world of difference, I have found it's usually a confluence of factors or stimuli that yield positive changes in well being, e.g. the world doesn't operaten in isolates. But in this case iodine did, and my brain seemed to work better. Less intrustive thoughts, more relaxed, less fog, better concentration. My .02 cents, Recommended Dietary Allowance (RDA) is WAY too low. The soil has been ruined and "demineralized", and that has wreaked havoc on the whole eco system.

Brazil nuts are not commercially grown because they are the biggest tallest tree in the rain forest. It towers above all the other trees and takes many many years to grow. They do not get fertilized or sprayed and are still today collected by hand by the native peoples where they grow. Rain Forest has very little nutrients in the soil as it gets washed away by the rain however the massive root system of this tree go way deep collecting natural minerals from deep down including the one it likes most. Selenium. I come from an area with absolutely no selenium in the soil so all our livestock has to be Supplemented with it and all who know about it take it as it is vital. After chemo and radiation I started getting blood bruises all over my forearms from just the slightest thing, if I just bumped my arm. I asked my Dr about it and was told it's just from old age ( alot of elderly people get them) Well guess what ,I started taking iodine and I don't get them anymore. My cold hands and cold feet are not an issue any longer as well. I have hypothyroidism as well and the prescription meds stopped working, after taking iodine I'm feeling better then when I took a Rx. I now take my iodine every morning and I know it's helping me . Also swelling in my leg from bone cancer is going away. We need iodine more than most people are aware of. It's definitely making a difference in the way I feel. I also eat mostly organic now and try to stay away from sugar and too many carbs. Only drinking purified water and fasting whenever I can, usually a 16 /8 hour window. I'm feeling better today than I have in years and I'm 60. Thin and in good shape. Hair and nails grow like never before.

However you do need to be mindful that it not only acts as an aromatase inhibitor and it upregulates the expression of certain CYP450 genes that metabolize certain estrogens. @@8675-__ yes … and knowing what the cravings actually mean is key! We can crave sweets, but that’s not really what we need. There are always nutrition deficiencies behind what we crave for sure.

How about 25 MG of iodine per day? There is research out there that suggest that much and more if you are low.

This was a great overview and important reminder. I learned new stuff, too! Didn't know cassava was a goitergen, or that fluoride was one of fire retardant chemicals & is now mandated (in some states) in children's sleepwear, etc. Plus many other details I'll try to retain. I hope you also do a segment on the value of having Lugol's or other oral form of iodine in first aid kits in case of nuclear event, to protect thyroid from damage. 🙃

I have 100% Lugol Solution and I'm thinking about how many drops I can take a day/week. If 5% I take 4 drops a day, so 25 mg. Is it best to take iodine daily more pleasantly than a large dose e.g. once a week. Does the body store iodine?

pls differentiate iodine (I2) from iodide (I-) from triiodide (I3-). The body needs both of the first, can however absorb the third better in the digestive track (also because iodine is not water soluble and cannot be well solubilized in fats as well). However ingesting I3- will probably just oxidize anything it finds on the way before arriving at the places your body needs it. BTW so many places need it: the skin, reprod. organs in male and femaie, dig. track etc. But each place needs a different form: either iodine or iodide or both. I personally get iodide from KI and iodine from inhalation. Inhalation is the most natural way to get it. We originally got it from sea wind, which has a tiny amount of it, but in constant supply thru your breath. That is also why your car will rost faster on the coast (partial pressure if iodine). Remember, the human brain developed in an unprecedented way when i vulcan in africa forced them to the coast, where they found lots of nutrients, including iodine (i guess around 70k years ago). If you wanna know how to inhalate iodine, just ask. I hope to read this comments again soon. I hope... :-)
