Just looking at this car brings me back. Back to circa 2000-2005. Those were the days. Amazing car sir, and great work. Making me want to do my engine bay again on my 10th gen.
One of the first nice days this spring I did a deep clean on my Del Sol bay. I went savage mode and didn’t bother covering anything, it wouldn’t start until the next day. This came out so good, just think how nice a turbo would look in there
Literally just bought a crx today, definitely gotta take some pointers from this (: already planning on detailing the interior tomorrow Glad to see you posting Anthony! Missed you bro 😎
Pulled my engine and took it apart to clean it. Then replaced all gaskets in the engine, scrubbed and reclear costed all bolts, nuts, and screws. Then reassembled the motor to all torque specs from factory. Please replace your radiator hose clamps. Dixon makes some awesome band type clamps. Also, bigger ground wires makes quite the difference on these engines.
The callout at the end made me smile with shame🤣 My 2000 Coupe and 97 Sedan both need lots of love. I'll wash and vac the 97 daily today. Engine bay will have to wait for crazy detailing but I'll give her a decent spray down.
DEFINITELY A WORTHY VIDEO BRO. I HAD TO SUBSCRIBE MAN. THIS IS MY FAVORITE CONTENT CLEAN EKS CLEAN BAYS AND JDMS. ALSO I SEEN THE EVO U GOT IN THE BACK WHAT YEAR IS THAT BRO. KEEP THEM VIDELS COMING BRO STAY BLESSED 🙏
I like how simple and clean this EJ8 is with just an intake/headers/exhaust, but I did the same thing at first with my EJ8 coupe with a freshly rebuilt JDM D15B VTEC and it was way too slow. I ended up putting together a cheap turbo kit for it, and I went with a P28 OBD1 ECU that I socketed and chipped with a Crome tune. Even with a cheap eBay 50 trim turbo, eBay turbo manifold, eBay external wastegate, HKS BOV, DSM 440cc injectors, and tuned to 8 psi it pulled hard enough to take out modified WRXs, Cobb equipped Mazdaspeed 3s, and bolt on SRT4s. Then I went B series and it was considerably more torquey. I still have that car, but now it has a fully built LSVTEC and currently makes 709 wheel horsepower on it's current tune. It will drive just like a normal car if you stay out of boost, but as soon as boost hits it'll spin all the way into 5th gear with a GSR trans with a modified OBX LSD.
I heard it’s safer to shower rinse your engine bay. You Don’t risk water getting threw and doing any damage to your electrical components and sensitive areas. So I always went that route, Great video!
I cleaned my o4 Honda Civic with the engine removed and ended up painting the engine bay no regrets now every time I open my hood I get plenty of compliments
This looks clean man, every time I see you detail makes me want to do it! One day I will. And for the plan, find a turbo at the junk! I’ll send you pics of cleaned engine bay!!
Love the video Anthony, can you do a video next on what maintenance have you done on the civic so far? Like cleaning the IAC, map sensor, sparkplugs etc?
My Redline is way overdue for engine bay detail. The outcome on your Civic looks great Anthony. Speaking of beer, the lady and I really enjoyed Payette last year. If you're ever up in the Spokane area try out Lumberbeard Brewing! I know Matt speaks highly of Hyper Dressing so I may give it a shot on the daily and use Motorplast on the IRL for comparison.
“Most detailers wouldn’t do as much as I do”. If that’s the case I need to bring my cobra to you and have you detail it for me 🤣 love the content man! I’m just south of the border from you in Tremonton Utah. I’d love to see that evo and civic in person sometime!
@@ALLDAYANTHONY That's dope I'm looking for a civic like this a 2000 ek preferably either red, blue, white, black or silver I want to learn manual! Hope it's not hard, also how much did you spend for it if you dont mind me asking, as well as the build all together?
@@samuelstecz2730 he made a video of it of how much he spent and how much the car was also he put quite a bit of money into it buy boy is it a beautiful car!
You should check MOA engine oil treatment to put in your car with your oil so it last longer, you can run without oil and it won't hurt the bearing, pretty good stuff
Dude. I absolutely cannot find anything around my area for detailing the engine bay. I am a Civic guy, and really enjoy your videos on detailing. It would be much appreciated if you could throw some links to anyplace I can get the meguiars stuff
I know they're way too far away (to collaborate), but when I see AHC Garage also working on an EM coupe I think of Anthony lol I'm sure you'll love that content, and I'm sure them and that Si's owner would love your content too haha Need to do my engine bay too eventually, thanks for motivating me :) *Correction: never notice the coupes are either EJ or EM, learn something new today.
I have a g35 coupe idk I’m scared to spray it down any tips? Or steps I should take into consideration. ??! I saw this video it helped but still concerned!
I would like to suggest new content to your civic. Look at adding sound insulation in the cabin and under the hood. I'm sure your up front cost would have a high return.
I've used this sprayer several times now on brick pavers, a wood deck, patio, and a driveway. ruclips.net/user/postUgkx43QMbQqu67IZadu9ou8Sg1BdrunMRNqX It has performed as expected on all surfaces. For larger areas like the decks and patios, I think I will be looking into a surface cleaner attachment to speed up the job, or at least make it a little easier. Hose and sprayer connections are tool-less, tight, and quick. I used the yellow nozzle on the concrete/brick surfaces, and the pressure was adequate for cleaning those surfaces.I am disappointed that these units are still being shipped with a nozzle storage holder that allows them to vibrate out of the holder way too easily and become lost, but I don't want to knock off a star for that reason. The functional part of the washer works very well, so I would recommend this product.
Is the oil buildup normal? My civic has never had an actual engine bay detail, and there's oil all over the bottom of the block, but it doesn't seem to be "leaking"
could you pleeeaasssee tell me where you got yoru grill? I remember you mentioning you got it off ebay (not sure if it was this car or the white one) but it looked really close to the OEM one and i've been having trouble finding one. Thanks in advance anthony!
How to secure that valve cover, i have a civic here in the ph, but mu valve cover always have oil leaks every pms we always put some gasket maker, but it has leaks always 🤦🏻🤦🏻
@@ALLDAYANTHONY yeah man. I just did it in my civic. The wiring sucks man. There are some videos from hasport to save you some money that’s what I did. I bet if you reached out to them they would hook you up with mounts and such. They do for most bigger you tubers.
why dont you get an actual full cold air intake for the civic one that puts the filter down behind the bumper, just get a cheap ebay special, and a hondata ecu
Love these detailing videos. I know they don’t get as many views but for the ones that appreciate detailing, these are very entertaining
They don’t and arguably take the most time to edit, but it is what it is

Anthony quick question how many miles are on this civc and what was your first car?
Alsoi is this your daily?
The civic has about 167k on it. My first car was a 96 Honda Civic hatch!

I've always been nervous to do this. After your video I feel pretty confident I can do this myself. Now I just need a pressure washer.
Just bag anything that’s sensitive. From there you’re good to go!
So satisfying to watch. Will there be a 3-hour “Directors Cut” upload in the near future? 😄
Haha I highly doubt it. Glad you liked it!
Another inexpensive tip when dressing engine bay and painted surfaces, is Turtle Wax Spray Ice Wax...

Headliner probably not, mines in good shape for now
Have you ever considered swapping to a bseries or kseries? In the near future?

I would love to do this to my 00' DX hatch. but the amount of rust proofing would make it impossible. Awesome to see Anth
+1 on that.😂 I bought a really clean 00 sedan then after getting it home found it was from Vermont.😢 So its pretty rusty underneath. 😮

Just mask off anything that might be sensitive. The forums should help you find those things

This was recommended viewing after a Corey Feldman video. Unrelated, I hope you’ll reconsider and actually do the 3 hour version.

I love cleaning cars but, bro next time can you Pls take out the air filter ….. so you have more access on that area….. thank you…. Love your video.
I've seen you use the Steamer many times. How do you like it for a diy person?
Do you use zip ties for the bags around the distributor etc or elastics? Would a regular garden hose work just as good?
