as far as I know, one should never pressure wash an engine bay. there are some connectors and seals that yeah, they're supossed to be waterproof but over time and with temps up and downs they tend to be less sealed. so a garden hose would do the job safer.
What is the dilution for multi x for use in the engine bay? Also is there anything I need to wrap in a plastic bag (avoid getting electronics wet) in a 2012 e300 Mercedes?
When doing engine bay cleaning, did you disconnect battery and cover any components like Alternator? Am planning to do the same for my BMW X5 G05… but figuring out anything that needs to be covered
I just did this to an ML350 Bluetec, however i removed the engine cover. Now I know it's clean everywhere. I like to use Superclean, i buy the gallon jugs and then dilute it for different applications. For the engine bay no dilution is needed.
Hi bro I like your works but please tell me about the steps before cleaning the engine bay what are the precautions steps to be taken in case of vehicle whose engine bay comes with proper guard or something
Wow looks amazing! I'm new with detailing but this is what I'm worry. All- alternator and similar electric parts and connectors with jet wash? How this works? Final effect is great! Tom.
nice work. but it would be great it you could show cleaning of ~15years old typical john smith passat diesel, where a lot of gunk whas build during that time. this would show the real transformation. not mild dusted new engine ;)
Hey VCD, big fan. I'm trying to use your method but I just had a question. What is that foam stuff that you used? (Is it the CARPRO Reset Shampoo?) Is that the same as regular car shampoo for washing the exterior? And any reason you used the iK Foam PRO 2 instead of a regular foam gun/cannon? Thanks, and keep up the great work
Nooo. By removing the cover you exposed yourself to mechanical issues. Unless you can fix the engine lights, engine running rough, leave it alone, that is why they put a cover.
Thanks Philipp! On modern cars I don’t do that. If you want to be extremely cautious you can, but I don’t think it’s necessary. Modern engine bays can deal with some water.
It's been a while, I usually use MultiX 1:10 - 1:20 depending on how dirty the car is. I recommend using Perl 1:1 (satin) - 1:3 (more of a matt finish)
Hi Vermjil ! Did you dilute the reset in 1:400? when I want to prepare my dilutions, I have 3 ml for 1.5 l is it possible? what dilution do you use to make the engine compartment?
Thank you, appreciate it! I never had an issue doing it this way with newer engines. With older engines I'd recommend covering up any sensitive and exposed electrical parts etc.
Thank you! I don't think it really matters, especially with these newer engines, but it's probably best to clean when it's cooled off. Also if you're cleaning an older engine I'd recommend covering up any sensitive and exposed electrical parts etc.
Very nice job on that engine bay. The commercials are getting a bit to much and it's not just your channel , watching RUclips is like watching TV with a commercial every few minutes. It's becoming lee's enjoyable.
The first application of MultiX and Perl wasn't diluted? If not have you ever come across any etching/decomposing issues using it full strength? I've been too scared to attempt it.
You could use MultiX undiluted when the engine bay is extremely dirty/greasy, it was designed to be used like that (only for certain purposes) but in this case I used it 1:10. Strong enough in my opinion, I personally have never used it undiluted. Also Perl has been diluted 1:3.
Super! Zijn echt top producten. Ik verdun MultiX gewoonlijk 1:20 (1:10 indien heel zwaar vervuild) en Perl 1:3, als je het graag wat meer wil doen glanzen kan je het puur of 1:2 gebruiken 😉
Why you didnt even remove engine cover to clean engine properly? This just look nice but not good enough if owner have some problem with leaking or something..
Sometimes there's only so much I can do with the time available. I could have taken this further, but really all the customer wanted was for it to look clean. Sure enough there was some more work to do to get it 100%.
Thanks Artur! I’ve detailed a lot of modern engine bays this way and I’ve never had an issue. If there are any exposed electrical parts or wires I do cover them up with a plastic bag, just to be sure. But other than that you should be fine doing it this way! I wouldn’t do this on an older engine, in that case I prefer to use a steamer (also have a video on that)
If you cover the fuse box and alternator, then you’re good to go in most cases. Maybe take out the air filter or battery if you’re nervous and paranoid about it but otherwise it’s all good. The finish you get is insane as it’s rarely done with most cars.
@@VermijlCarDetail There should be no problem cleaning with water a Nissan Sentra Nismo 2018 I’m kinda scared doing it, there’s anything you could recommend me or I’ll just go for it

How old is your vehicle? Pressure would be better as the water is going at a higher velocity and pushing dirt off. Using a garden hose is basically drowning the vehicles parts.

At what dilution did u use the Perl ?
What kind of engine bays can you do this to. I’m guessing you can’t do it on all of them. Is it only ones that have everything covered?
Only newer cars.

What about electrical components damage and pressured water
Can i do this to my 2015 opel corsa??
If the battery is in the engine bay. Do you cover it? Because I’m scared to use a pressure washer 😅😂
Do you have to disconnect the battery or cover the alternator whenever cleaning any engine bay?
You can if you want to be extra careful, but it’s not necessary for modern cars
I always do just to be more careful
Great content, some say not to use pressure washer on the engine bay?
I wouldn't recommend it.. It has is risks
Should I let the engine dry entirely before I start it ?
If you wash an engine bay as shown here. You won't have to think of starting it any more 😀
