RPlate has actually not been approved for front use, so you'd still need a normal front plate if your state requires a front plate. This also means that when you are required to change your plate number that you'd still have to go to the DMV. I'm not sure if having a custom vanity plate would let you circumvent that requirement.
Question: Is Rplate covered by one’s auto insurance, should you get in a wreck (not-at-fault or otherwise)? Given that it’s like having an iPad strapped to the back of your car-in the most likely area to get crushed-it occurred to me that this is a rather important question, since I’ve started running mine. I know accessories like PPF and Ceramic coating can be covered with no headache… haven’t seen any discussion about this in particular

Nope. Part of the appeal of this is that you have a pretty good excuse for not having a front plate, and are much more likely to get off with a warning than you would be in any other situation.

Why exactly would I want this for the money it costs? There’s the original purchase cost, subscription cost, and $50 battery replacement every 3 to 5 years. I don’t see anywhere that’s this plate removes any of my current DMV fees. You get a free metal plate when you register your new car. I never have to go and stand in line at DMV to pay my registration, I pay it on line. What exactly are the benefits to justify the cost? Is it only that you can change the background from black to white and that you can add a short custom line at the bottom of the plate that requires you to be a few feet away to read? It's junk and zero customer service only email they have a number to call but noone answers says email only I bought one worst mistake I ever made wouldn't connect to Bluetooth bet ya all the people happy to get one work for the company it's awful and over priced the one that is battery powered doesn't track and can't add your own saying like it says you can once approved please save your money it's a ripoff and junk

It doesnt have an open section like ones shown on the cars, its kind of in the middle of a step thats part of the bumper, so size'wise it doesnt look like it'll fit. And mine is a Custom version so it may not look the same.. But as an example, the bottom of the actual license plate goes slightly below the step, so thats another possible fitment issue.

As far as I know, the CA plate is the one that’s shown in the video (no logos, but maybe the AZ ones might?) and you can currently only change the text on the bottom of the plate. There aren’t any current extras, but maybe with a future software update, there might be some extra features implemented.

I keep my original plate in the car as well as the Reviver compliance letter (that you receive when you purchase an RPlate), just in case. UPS dropped off the package, and then my post office claimed they couldnt find it. I went to their three time, and all three times they said they couldnt find it. This is even after me explaining that the package is worth $1000. They said they looked through every package multiple times. I finally opened a claim with UPS over the weekend. On Monday, UPS went to the Post office, and low and behold the package was literally just sitting in the spot that UPS drops off packages there. So NO, the post office hadnt bothered looking for it. But, after considering that the pro plate would require an installer to drill a hole in my car to route the wire through, along with this discount I had found, I opted to return the plate. Reviver made that part totally painless. I was hoping to find a middle of the road solution where I could keep the pro plate, but not have to have the hole drilled, but there just isnt one. So they gave me a return label, and I have shipped it back. I then immediately re-ordered the non pro model with your discount code. It'll be here tomorrow. Oh, I forgot to mention; I had submitted a list of personalisations about a week ago. They just replied to let me know that they have been working on those. Not covering the plate under warranty if you install it yourself is a deal breaker for me and the only reason I won't buy this. A lot of people are DIYers and like to do things themselves or prefer not to let anyone touch their vehicles.

Under section, "What does the warranty NOT cover," it states, "Any RPlate upon which unauthorized installation, repair or service has been performed." Sounds like the warranty is only valid if you have an authorized shop install it for you.

The also say that minor scratches or wear isnt grounds for replacement as long as you could still use it.. when you stop paying the monthly fees no more warranty.. License plates are supposed to be reflective, these are not, I have New York Custom plates which are highly reflective than most of the United States, plus each state has their own distinct color and background, opposed to a computer monitor, I know they said California came out with this to made it easier to renew car registration, I can easily do that online for free , but I'm sure some people will love this

So you install it before your plate is set up and then have to wait 1-2 days until it shows your plate number?
Mike, knowing the 1-2 days now, if you need to drive the car it'd be better to do the verification process before mounting it.

License plates are supposed to be reflective, these are not, I have New York Custom plates which are highly reflective than most of the United States, plus each state has their own distinct color and background, opposed to a computer monitor, I know they said California came out with this to made it easier to renew car registration, I can easily do that online for free , but I'm sure some people will love this
