True. Especially since one of my goals is to find a planet with no security and map every animal and resource on it as I kill off everything on it and take all the resources lol
+Coregame3 I'm going to try them all but to start I'm gonna be an explorer. theirs just something about being the first and possibly only person to ever find a planet. one of the first things I'm doing is going between solar systems without hyperdrive I want to find a rogue planet and a black hole .
+Coregame3 yeah I plan on dividing it. start game I'll be an explorer. mid game I'll go trader to build up my currency. then when I get close to the center I'm going fighter and hopefully will have earned enough currency that I can just buy the gear for fighter. that's when I'm gonna try and completely wipe out all life and resources on a planet.
+Coregame3 I'm gonna avoid them for awhile just for a change of pace. eventually I'll join in on them but combat isn't really what I'm looking for in this game right off. when I start focusing on combat it'll just be because I'm tired of everything else.
narutodssunny I shall be known as the one and only... Obi-Wan Kenobi or Obi-Wan for short. Venturing and exploring each star system I come across on my voyage towards the centre of the galaxy. Flying my Delta-7B Starfighter, accompanied with R4-P17 as my companion.
Am i the only one who is only subscribed to IGN for this month of details on this game alone and will be immediately unsubbing from the channel the moment it is done?
It would be cool if you would be able to sell info/your discoveries. You wont upload them to public, but you keep them and when someone tells "hey man you know any planet that has Skynium(example)? And you tell him "Yeah give me 1000 NoMan`s(example name :D) and I will send you all my discoveries about planets that have this. I hope developers will read it because it could really change gameplay for some players. Thanks for your time :-).
misakstefl You could easily do that anyway if they add a system for it or not. You yourself can look in your un-released database and tell the player where to head.

I'm guessing a release date at the end of this month. It would have been so much cooler if the games economy was persistent, with the supply of goods actually based off the planet resources around a system. The number one thing I was most exited about was seeing a galaxy slowly develop as the players introduced more items into the economy. We wanted to see the AI transport materials from one system to the next and be able to have a chain effect by mass mining or trading. Pirates could only receive half the loot or something similar to act as item sinks and stations could quietly generate a few goods in the background if traffic in that area was slow. This is the type of game we wanted. Instead we got a terminal that has a handful of goods which magically regenerate after time and the goods that are in demand never change. The goods we sell off don't get picked up, consumed or travel to any other location, they simply disappear. There is no economy.
This game is going to have the world record for biggest ever wiki page, and longest ever expanding wiki page... I have always wanted a game like this, can't wait!
+noah slagter You already can, and you can do the whole build a base in the ground like mincraft. They have a "home world" things that your ship can warp to once the tech is created. Idk about actual BASE building
perhaps the multiplayer can be inplemented in a souls-like fashion, like if you are near a player you can send a "help request" that pings playes nearby and if they accept they load into your world
I've never been so excited about a game, but not because of the hype - purely just because of the possibilities and the things you could discover and do. This is the game that will enable people to satisfy their need for discovery, knowing that the things you see no one else will have seen before you. I've looked at every video on youtube about this game. It needs a release date already.
Oh god I hope not, I dont want pre-pubecent boys carelessly taking all the resouces of a planet whilst crying and drooling over each others mothers. Ergh
Calum Gambrill If the game as anywhere remotely close to as vast as they describe it, then it will literally be impossible for people to mine everything. They have stated many times that even meeting another real person is pretty rare.
So what's with the lines connecting like 10 solar systems together on the hyper map? When he's browsing through the galaxy and the lines seem kind of pointless?
Yeah, the problem with this game is that you can't put it in any paticular category. The other things you can trading and mining are combat, pirating, exploring, bounty hunter, upgrading of all your equipment, crafting of new weapon modifications, swimming, cave exploring, and more.
***** well apparently the ultimate goal is about getting to the centre of the universe, what's there, they aren't telling. but its not so much about the goal as it is the journey from what i can make out
***** Head to the center of the galaxy. Aside from that, there's nothing really in terms of a directed story/missions or anything. A lot of the appeal of this is discovery for discovery's sake, and that type of experience isn't necessarily going to appeal to everyone. Is there anything in particular you're looking for out of the game? I can probably give some quick yes/no answers if you have any questions.
What about "Good Guy" Hello Games? For 10 people this is a pretty impressive feat they're attempting to pull off, if it's good I'd be willing to put money into their pockets so they can keep making games.
I feel like there a adequate amount of hype from news outlets but I feel like alot of users are blowing it out of the water. I'm very much excited for the game but I don't think this will be "The game to define the generation" I do how ever believe that it will stand out and it will be very notable.
xXOwenatorXx A lot of people that have seen behind-closed-doors playthroughs of the game have already said that most people will have to tone down their expectations because of the same reasons you've stated. The game looks stunning, and I can already see myself playing the hell out of it, but I can also see some people being disappointed because they expected the game to be something more than what the developers could achieve.
Slippy alot of your post is very opinion based but Watch Dogs had a good concept which got people on board. The main thing though is people thought what they saw in the basically "Proof of concept" CG trailer was going to be the actual game. Bioshock infinite's devs has came out and said that the E3 demo shown was early in development and like what alot of devs do they wanted to show their vision to the public. (Game underwent huge changes due to consoles limitation. *Dont turn this post into a "Which is better" falme war because I said this*) And I personally enjoyed Last of Us andfelt what they showed the public represented the final product. Alot of this is down to Dev not being very clear to consumers what they are being shown or Publishers not wanting to telling consumers what they are being shown. Lack of communication for better words
No but it very well might pave the way to new forms of games. They figured out a method to create an entire fully functional universe with very small memory space, because of new methods no thought of. They created a way to make a Miriad of bizarre animals and ships without making every single one, just a few base models. That is impressive and already game designers are wanting to ask them how they did it. They may have very well made another step for future programmer's on making online games.
The game is offline. You will have quintillions of planets worth of information on your computer, in under 10GB. That's the beauty of math functions. In algebra you wrote down an infinite amount of xy pairs in a few symbols. Heres an example. y + 2x That right there represents an infinite amount of coordinate pairs in 4 symbols
even if all players would be in multiplayer mode in this game, they would never meet each other cause of size of universe, u clearly dont get how big is it :)
I think the scale of this game is one of the most riveting and amazing things, but simultaneously has the power to stop the game from being great in some ways. We really don't know much about what you do in the game, and singleplayer could be incredible, but I really think adding some galactic domination mode or something could be awesome! Imagine if there were servers or something that broke the galaxy down into systems and you could join a system, start a faction and try to collect the most resources in that system while fighting other factions trying to do the same thing. Just a rough idea, but imagine the possibilities if they added that capacity, or something similar. This game is just begging to be a real Star Wars for people who wanted to play like that! And it's so huge that you could restrict it to any number of solar systems and people who didn't want to play like that would never run into you! Just a thought.
How about being able to build drone ships to explore planets in nearby systems (or far away)? They can report back info about the system and whether planets are worth visiting?
From what I understand this game will be a sandbox game, in which without a story you just do what you want to, it will literally just simulate space life in which the community create the lore and the reason to play. I really hope there will be like a secret faction created by the players in which we can recreate Star Wars without the lightsabers, but have like diplomacy and space battles and planets aligned with different people, trading with only their friends/allies to aid them, and if a space battle is won, the winning team gets control over the planet and its resources and stuff like that.
It'd be cool if you had like ground and water vehicles (im not sure if there is) too which could possibly attach to the ship, in order to explore planets easily.
What happens when you follow a ship to the planet and it lands? I have a feeling there's way more to this game than sean is letting on. I've been hyped for this game since the very first trailer.
How exactly does the economy work? Are there Factories who need certain elements? Do the NPC even use the Ressources or only trade with them? Are the Prices going to change depending on how much of a certain ressource is inside the market?
Vincent Shine yes to everything other than npcs using the resources, im sure each npc "buys" a certain type of resoruce but they are ai they probably dont actually use them
at the centre, i think its either a black hole as sean says there will be black holes. He also says that there are more than one galaxy so i guess its porthole to another galaxy. not sure lol.
You know what would be cool? If as an explorer when you discover a system you could earn a tariff on the resources traded/gather in that system. Explorers could have their own income stream that way opposed to the other ways of making a living
So is it all Online, or is there a singleplayer offline mode as well? Another random question is, will your character's body mass apply on a planet with a greater or lesser gravitational force? For example; will I be able to jump really high on one planet, but not be able to jump at all on another?
Idk, but the way he describes the game makes me genuinely happy, shows that he loves his work and proud of it, definite buy for me, and can't wait. Let the race to the center of the universe begin !
But will it be possible to influence the economy like in the real world? Will products from vendors or on space stations just appear out of nowhere or will it be possible to hit a stations supply chain, destroy a mine or something so certain goods won't be available anymore until that mine is rebuilt?
Who else thinks there should be a companion app with this game? I know that this game must have taken (and still is taking) a ton of time to make, but a companion app that keeps track of everything that you have made in a neat and tidy way, maybe even add in a forum for everyone to share the stuff they've found. But that's just a hopeful thought :)
I have a question? if someone explores a system in space and he uploads the information, then when you go to it are there marks left that show he's been there? also can you play this whitout internet? and is there a multyplayer?
Purple Base technically it is an MMO, but every one gets started out on a random planet in this vast universe, so the likely hood of running into other players is astronomically small. like trying to find a needle in a haystack the size of Texas. now if you and your friends coordinate well enough and happen to mutually discover a planet or star system you could set up a meeting point so you can go exploring together, but your chances of both finding the same world are slim
The economy works like this: I give Sean Murray money, he gives me No Man's Sky, my family and friends never hear from me again.
Haha
I fear the same
Well, the bathroom better hear from you again. But it'll be the same for me if I get a Ps4 in time to get this, or even if my PC can handle it.

Can u build settlements on planets?
Sadly, no
Jakori Crawford Nope
Smokeyy Tucker Why not!
Sean is considering to add that post launch, if there's enough demand for it in the fanbase.
Jakori Crawford You could blast a cave into a mountain and park your ship in it. Bam, instant settlement.
can you go into a black hole like interstellar lol
In an interview with game informer he said there were black holes so probably
412tt that was a worm hole big difference
Egyptman09 No he said that there will be black holes. I remember
BboyFTW1 He replied to OP, meaning he was talking about the film Interstellar.
was Gargantua a wormhole? i swear they called it a black hole

Or:
Attack weaker ship-> Loot them-> Sell loot-> Buy better ships and weapons-> Rinse and repeat, you are now a space pirate
i hope they will have milions of stuff to craft, to invent, to make spaceships etc
This game is everything i ever wanted
I always dreamnt about being a space explorer, and sometimes i would imagine how i could interact with the rest of the universe and other beings
I can do that in this game
Thank you Sean, for your incredible talent!

Anyone know what music they used for the video? is it from 65daysofstatic album?
yes
i was wondering where did i hear this music before.
Darude - sandstorm
+ExploCow It's not 2011
Ive seen a video on youtube where he states its "65" who has done the whole sound track for the game which i assume is 65 days
Damn the music with Sean Murrays narrating about the game almost made me cried. Was so beautiful and relaxing. He needs to do this a lot more
lies lies's lies
yes yes yes
no no no
yep yep yep
Eeyup, Eeyup, Eeyup
That's weird. Literally not one thing this guy said in this video was a lie. Literally every single thing is in the game.
Release date?!
2020
Seriously?
Young Money no
Young Money 2015, no set release yet
Young Money I'm hoping the end of this whole IGN first thing will result in a release date reveal or even better - a release!
Watch the divorce rate climb in the latter half of 2016
XD
Brings a new meaning to " I need space" .
nope
This game is going to have the world record for biggest ever wiki page, and longest ever expanding wiki page... I have always wanted a game like this, can't wait!
I dont think people can really comprehend how this game will effect gaming in the future and how amazing this game will/is/be
i really hope you'll eventually be able to build bases in this game
+noah slagter You already can, and you can do the whole build a base in the ground like mincraft. They have a "home world" things that your ship can warp to once the tech is created. Idk about actual BASE building
Sean looks weird without the beard.
louisgworld I'm pretty sure this is old footage, I bet he still has his Game Dev Beard.
Ah thats what it is, I already thought something was different but I couldn't figure out what :p
Beards are manly, never shave your beards boys.
14supersonic Unless you can't grow a full one. One that looks gross and patchy. In that case it's best just to not grow one.
Shea Roberts Strategic beards are still okay. Style what grows and claim it's on purpose.
I've never wanted something so bad
agreed June can't come soon enough
perhaps the multiplayer can be inplemented in a souls-like fashion, like if you are near a player you can send a "help request" that pings playes nearby and if they accept they load into your world
patricio torre or you could have a radar to ping nearby players and "invade them"
This is probably one of the better videos I've seen about the game.
Give us a release date already D:
This is just a reiteration of information we already know, release the gameplay video where Ryan takes over.
this game looks so beautiful
He didn't create a game. He created a world. A living, breathing world.
So much greatness coming to ps4 sigh need 400$
Lol
gio parker or just get it on PC
gio parker and PC
Naw I also want bloodborne,phantom pain bundle,uncharted 4,zero dawn,etc
Lol ur so poor
I think Minecraft kids are going to adore this. And in 20 years homage to this game and Minecraft will be ubiquitous.
Doesn't stop the squeakers from recruiting an armada of fellow 12 year old to ravage a system, spreading, growing. Parasites.
Calum Gambrill I don't think you grasp how large a universe is.
Minecraft is dead and got boring will to me it got boring. Plus these kids will grow up or find something new like this game
Now if you can blow up a planet. That would be amazing.
Yeah with a Death Star.
You can't blow up planets.
Well that makes me sad
Oh well.
I guess that's going to have to do
Wow.
That is by far the best video that has been done about this game so far.
So what's with the lines connecting like 10 solar systems together on the hyper map? When he's browsing through the galaxy and the lines seem kind of pointless?
About how many star systems are there
18 quintillion planets.
+Trainer Riku *Over 18 quintillion.
+Trainer Riku I don't think that's what he asked.
+CMDR Kappa It's not, but I don't know exactly how many planets each star system has so I can't answer that question.
+TJTepigstar Smith a lot
I still don't understand what this game is fully about. So you explore a galaxy and planets? What else exactly is there to do.
Kylr Avery How about "Good Guy" everybody who worked on the game?
***** You hit the nail on the head with that.
Hm, I agree with both of you.
*Dont turn this post into a "Which is better" falme war because I said this*)
And I personally enjoyed Last of Us andfelt what they showed the public represented the final product.
Can you work and pilot for a trade company or is it just you go gather materials and sell raw/items to various vendors?
Imagine skyrim multiplayer where you never see anyone but have RPG aspects and collect stuff and sell stuff.
not how you imagine you kinda have to be your own company. but i guess mods will allow everything you can imagine
Will there be space casinos?
IMMA BECOME A FRIGGIN SPACE PIRATE!!!
+Ethan Dahl YEA ME TO LETS STARTS A SPACE PIRATE WAR PLUNDER AND PILLAGE EVERYTHING
WE WILL BECOME THE MOST FEARED PEOPLE IN THE UNIVERSE
Ethan Dahl R MATE LETS GO YARRR
Fire火Nation YAR lets do that
is this game purely online? cause I cant imagine having quintillions of planets worth of information on my pc
Online in the sense that you never see anyone else
I think the other players information is stored in servers, and as its procedurally generated, the data generates when you come near it
The game is offline.
Brendan Forish yeah thats cool
Max Maillet yeah its cause its procedurally generated, right?
I vote we, the players, recreate the Star Wars Galaxy.
Good luck even finding other players
i wish you good luck on your epic journey to find someone to do that with
even if all players would be in multiplayer mode in this game, they would never meet each other cause of size of universe, u clearly dont get how big is it :)
wonder if u can colonize planets? like making a mining colony, industrial colony, or agricultural colony.
Cant w8 to play on ps4 and pc ;3
I think this is a PS4 exclusive
Jared M It is also coming to PC
Sweet , Learn something everyday
Jared M Glad I could help
Jared M Nope, Windows too.
Is it just me, or does Sean Murray look a bit like Toby Turner? xD
***** xD
I can see it
i thought he was Ian from Smosh when i 1st saw him lmao
X box one will go bankrupt after June 21
+The Maniac Gaming ikr?
I literally sold my Xbox one and bought a ps4 for this game lol
Adam McKittrick lol
+Adam McKittrick so true !
Trex Nick imagine no mans sky hackers on pc though
Am I the only one who thought of the speech at the end of Blade Runner when those space stations were working on screen?
The excitement in this guy's voice is enough for me to be stoked for it's release.
ima find a badass planet and name it planet sanders lol
+SPACEMONKEY288 make sure its a lava planet so visitors can feel the *Bern*
Brian Bullock lol
0:49 That just looks so freaking cool! I'm so hyped to play this!!
Yo this game creates a whole new genre of exploration games
have a drink everytime he says "space"
It'd be cool if you had like ground and water vehicles (im not sure if there is) too which could possibly attach to the ship, in order to explore planets easily.
What happens when you follow a ship to the planet and it lands? I have a feeling there's way more to this game than sean is letting on. I've been hyped for this game since the very first trailer.
Does anyone recognise the music? It's wonderful.
Will there be any civilised species on any of the planets?: Cities and towns and land vehicular modules
How exactly does the economy work?
Are there Factories who need certain elements? Do the NPC even use the Ressources or only trade with them?
Are the Prices going to change depending on how much of a certain ressource is inside the market?
Vincent Shine yes to everything other than npcs using the resources, im sure each npc "buys" a certain type of resoruce but they are ai they probably dont actually use them
Why do all trading posts look exactly the same? Seems weird when everything else is generated.
+chiffmonkey We have seen lots of different ones.
2:48-3:25 😍 that just seems awesome and relaxing
at the centre, i think its either a black hole as sean says there will be black holes.
You do get Units(in-game currency) for making and uploading discoveries.
Will products from vendors or on space stations just appear out of nowhere or will it be possible to hit a stations supply chain, destroy a mine or something so certain goods won't be available anymore until that mine is rebuilt?
now my question is are there planets populated with npcs that can reason (not just the wildlife)
Anyone else annoyed that they mirrored UV's on the spaceship @2:36 so the 73 is backwards lol...ugh
2:59 imagine how gorgeous this will look with Reshade / SweetFX. Ooooh maaammma!!! Can't wait.
So if you've ever played Tradewars 2002 ver B on a BBS somewhere, like that, except visually instead of just text...
Purple Base technically it is an MMO, but every one gets started out on a random planet in this vast universe, so the likely hood of running into other players is astronomically small. like trying to find a needle in a haystack the size of Texas. now if you and your friends coordinate well enough and happen to mutually discover a planet or star system you could set up a meeting point so you can go exploring together, but your chances of both finding the same world are slim
ooh thanks i have an other question can this then be played whitoiut internet
?
Purple Base Yes, because is NOT an MMO. Sean said it, but I don't remember on wich video. But, it will have a multyplayer.
When will they do the next ign first episode ?
Has anyone else seen the similarities between the Space Stations in "No Man's Sky" and the "Tet" from the OBLIVION movie?
