Man I can't wait for this game OMG. This is the game I have been waiting for. And I am fine waiting until it is completely finished. Day this releases Im using 3 vacation days to call off work, grabbing a half oz of the best indica at my local dispensary, buy a couple 12 packs of Blue Moon, about 5 large frozen pizzas, closing all my blinds and will disappear from the earth.
+Vega V I work as a Childrens Mental Health Counselor for the city of Sacramento, am a youth leader at my church, have a circle of close friends....... You really don't have to be a jerk.
Jesus Christ. You people need to be patient. I've been waiting for this game since it was first announced and I'll wait even longer if I have to. They're not trying to release a broken game so just be patient and stop acting like whiny little brats. Let the people make their damn game. Go find a hobby. Go outside. There's an entire world out there for you to explore. And soon enough you'll be able to explore an entire universe. Be patient.
+Daniel Maier Quit telling us what to do...that's more annoying than the people wanting a release date. Also, I don't think wanting a date is too much to ask anyways considering we were told we'd get one "soon" FIVE FUCKING MONTHS AGO. Quit acting like an entitled brat.
+Logical Reason So "soon", from your persepctive, has expired has it? Because I, too, remember Sean saying "soon" and I still think "soon" is definitely a unit of time that is still going. So it's subjective really. If we are talking about entitlement, then it's time you look at yourself. You are literally suggesting "soon" meant "less than five months" but thats totally subjective. Also, E3 was under four months ago, so if you're gonna say it, say it right.
+Steffan Clarke It's not "soon from my perspctive"...soon means "in or after a short time." Months after the fact isn't "soon". Do you even dictionary bruh? A definition of a word isn't subjective. It was a bad choice of words from Sean, that's all there is to it. Quit trying to defend what someone said by trying to change the meaning of the word they used LOL! Damn son...
+Logical Reason hey Vsauce Michael here, so time what is it? We know there's 60 seconds in a minute, 60 minutes in an hour, 24 hours in a day... And 365.... And a quarter days in a year. Well, that's great we have our units of time but what we don't have... Is a scale. So what's a second? That is obviously a question that must be asked to understand the concept of time and it's scale. Well a second is the time it takes for the outer most electron on a caesium atom to oscillate between two of the atoms energy levels.... 9.2 billion times. That... is... a lot, and this sense of "time" we have is actually our own individual experience. The phrase "times passes quicker when you're having fun" is a common term I'm sure many of you know, but is it true? Well, yes, and.... no... From our perspective time appears to be moving faster but in actual fact it isn't. So whatever you're doing however glum you feel, know that time passes quicker the slower you move, and as always, thanks for watching
+Joanes Unzu The horrible things that species of creature must have endured to evolve into have having an air craft on its head, check your privilege calling them "plane heads" is offensive to their culture.
I'm a fan of this project. Or rather, I'm a fan of the thought behind this project: I agree with his earlier quotes that games can be so predictive that you already know how long you're going to be playing it in the tutorial phase. That being said, I'm not sure if "procedurally generated" is really the holy grail as it's sometimes hailed to be. Having a possible 18 trillion variations of planets is astounding and cool, but if 4 million of those are just planets with slightly different accents of green on slightly different shaped creatures on slightly different spots, it's going to get tedious rather fast. If you've seen the excesses that one slider is capable of, then all the rest of the variations in between are just going to be filler rather quickly. He mentions that in this video: he says that the biggest problem is that math just isn't very creative, but he doesn't go into how they tried to solve that at all - which I why I share the worry that this could go into the Spore-territory where conceptually the game is just breathtaking but the reality is that it gets kinda old kinda fast (and that's not even mentioning the gameplay)
Just get them all, there's plenty of time. MGSV is good, not even close to being one of the best MGS games in terms of story, but the gameplay is incredibly tight. Mad Max suffers from repetitive gameplay.

+Fedoro McGentleman Just like Spore, was super hyped for it but it lacked gameplay when i finally got to play it, the idea was awesome but just scratched on the surface...
+Fedoro McGentleman you're not wrong, I think a lot of people will be let down by this. But I know there will be a substantial number of people who really are interested in a game that almost solely consists of discovering and exploring a full scale galaxy. This is something all cosmology-enthusiasts have dreamt about, and this game is going to at the very least, deliver just that experience. Niche games have their place in the gaming industry.
+Erik McLeod I think it will be one of those games that you get just because it's awesome to explore in it for a few hours while your jaw drops but then after a while you will realize it isn't as much a game as it is an experience
It's Dr. Awesome for a lot of people that may be the case, but even Elite: Dangerous has kept my attention for hundreds of hours. And that game doesn't have nearly the amount of exploration No Man's Sky will have.
The republic of history ok the hashtag wull be #releasethefullseanmurrayinterview post this in every video they release until they give us the full video
What happened when you go offline? Does your character go to sleep like in Rust? Or does your character, your ships disappear? I assume you would want to go a space station when you log off but maybe you are stranded on a planet? There better be things do do other then just exploring.
+i really dont know what to call this empty youtube channel I like a wide variety of games. This one is for me :) My curiosity was what happens to your character when you quit the game? But heard that there is save points and I'd assume you would just start back off the post resent save point reached. Don't get me wrong, I like exploring but there needs something else to keep my interest, and there is.
I'm stoked for this game. Have been for quite some time. But I can see how some people are weary. EVERY interview this guy has given has him showing off their game like a big map generator and him talking about how all he sees are equations like he's Neo from the Matrix. I mean, I get it, you guys created something cool. But maybe it's time to start talking about more than just that. The robot's attacking thing seems like a half generated idea to show off some combat but he hasn't explained anything else. I want this game just for the exploration factor alone, but many people out there want gameplay over "going anywhere you please" and I get their concerns as well.
I hope that life is actually much rarer than it seems to be as that would make discovering worlds that have life so much more exciting. Also not sure if this is just for demo but to have so many different creatures crammed together is very unrealistic and seems odd. It would be better if you had to travel the planet to discover different species or even hunt them and they were more spread out and enjoyed different habitats. Finally on creatures, they need to have some AI beyond "flee" in front of camera. Some need to be much more illusive, some flighty, some curious, some tame, others aggressive and some predatory. If they can pull all that off and get enough variety to the planets so they don't look samey, which some already do in these demos, then it will be epic regardless of the main gamepaly just for exploration and adventure. One last thing. Really hope for some dynamic weather and atmospheres that affect gameplay.
+LittleMuckyMe He has confirmed somewhere that most planets are lifeless. He said it was rarer to find planets that are lush with life and habitable. Somewhere like less than 90% of planets are full of life.
That flycam reminds me of my zoo in Jurassic Park Operation Genesis. Man, it'd be awesome to see this game patch in tools to do those kinds of things one day.
ok,seriously, you people need to quit complaining about how the video is too short, and how you want a sooner release date. This is literally a fucking UNIVERSE in a box!,still under development.I understand why so many people are very excited, and would like to know the release date, but holy SHIT,give Sean some time.
I'm wondering if there actually are caves, since that would require some additional coding that nearly no developer wanted to go through till today. Also how well does the creature creator work? Because that's the hurdle that made it near impossible to make an evolution based game. The only game that attempted to do that and was successful was Spore and that's a very old game today ... I wonder what happened there in between.
Caves are confirmed, there was some IGN gameplay where he went in a cave. The creature generator is awesome, you'll never see two creatures that look the same. It's not evolution though, it's like he said, different characteristics increased or decreased until a completely different creature is formed.
im really hoping theres more to do in this game like possible missions etc since as as endless as this game seems doing the same thing on millions of random planets will eventually get dull. im not complaining this game looks amazing an cant wait to play it im just hoping it has a bit more depth rather than just being a great way to show off a great way to create games
I wouldn't even mind that this game's only mechanic is exploration if the stuff you could find was actually strange and interesting, but all they're doing is starting with a few basic template creatures and stretching them a bit. You'll never actually find anything bizarre. We were all disappointed with the "procedural generation" in Spore and we'll all be disappointed with it in this.
For one thing I really hope the entity count can reach extremely high, especially in waters it feels unrealistic to have this zone of natural tranquility freshly discovered that has not been touched upon by industrialization or even any sentient beings, and the oceans are not even close to filled with as much fish as they should be. Also, don't forget insects, randomly generated insects and bugs of varying size would increase the immersion
It's explained that many species of sentient, industrious life has been driven of their planets by these AI defence drones, the drones try to preserve the natural order of things kind of like the Reapers in Mass Effect. Besides we live in a galaxy home to roughly 230 billion stars, each of those stars could be home to 5-15 exo planets and 1/15 of those planets could be home to wildlife. So not every world has been found yet.
I don't understand why people are constantly saying it will be boring as hell. We've constantly been shown one sort of planet and the game is not even finished and doesn't have a release date. Just wait for it to come out, try it and then make your conclusions about it. It's merely guessing right now, so it's a bit soon to say that it will suck and be boring.
+Kevin Zavala for the size of the game planets i dont think it will have deep sea to dwell creatures cthulhu size but i think they can still put cthulhu size creatures on space, that would be awesome as well
Gorilla Fang for what i noticed the planets are not even or moon size, you can see a bit of that by the size of the atmosfere, is very small you can go out of a planet atmosfere and go back very fast, because of that i think that the oceans aren't going to be half deeper then the atmosfere
+lucas erivânio I remember watching several interviews in which Sean Murray from Hello Games was responding to questions about the possibility of finding and joining your friends in the game for co-op play. He said that even if you both land on the same planet, the chances of you finding each other would still be extremely slim because planets are full-sized. It would be like finding your friend if you were both dropped at random places on Earth.
Gorilla Fang well if we are dropp randomly in a place half of the moon size would still be extremely slim to find each other. planets have diferents sizes so when he said planets full-sized he was refering to small planets, but if he was refering to earth then i dont think he have notion of the earth size, remember that he dont want to make a reality or scientific accurate game that's why the planets distance to each other are so small, is more small then the earth moon distance. still i hope i m wrong because i want to explore really deep seas and find cthulhu sized creatures there
wierd keep seeing now "this is gonna Suck but i'm still gonna buy it" type comments, the only way it will suck is through your own lofty expectations, its a cool looking Video game with an extremely cool premise, pure & simple, Personally all these videos do is make me want to play it more......:)
+Doofus I don't think they plan on doing a beta on this at all. Of course they could do one just it's never been mentioned. They have till June to do it.
you guys need to take a min and remember back to when minecraft first started asking for crowd funding in the early build. i was one of those pc gamers that bought in on that game. a game that at the time if you had seen a demo would have been no more than a tech demo. no idea of what to do or what is in the game...just the idea of a vast world to explore in was what you were given at first. then with time and money the small team lead by Notch added things to the game. over the years the game grew and grew and more and more gamers bought in. now look at he game some 10 or so years later and it is one of the most played games of all time, Hello games has already said this is their baby for life. that they will add more and more to the game as time and money come. so all these things that some of you want in a game like this...a real multi player option, base building option, the level of detail on any said planet...all of these kinda things can and most likely will be added to the game over time in future version of the game...much like ender man or horse's were add in minecraft... small dev teams like hello games and mojang have to build games like this...especially when their games are so large in scope.
I don't know how I feel about everything being just random. Obviously, what I'm about to suggest would be pretty hard, if not impossible, but, wouldn't it be cool of every ecosystem adapted to itself? we saw evolution in action. There's giant predators on a plane so the smaller herbivores develop camoflauge, or a world is full of deep canyons and deeper rivers so the world is full of flying creatures and angler fish like creatures. I dunno, I think that would be cooler than just sliders.
Ich hoffe mal, dass auf dem PC die Sichtweite nicht so beschissen ist, dass da ständig nach 10meter die Texturen und Objekte aufploppen auf maximaler Einstellung -.-
like Daniel said. we need to be patient. A game like this really doesn't exist yet, at least on console, i would rather wait a few months for an awesome game than have it right now and it be "ok".
I see some problems in this game. Since it's pure mathematically created it is likely to let's say discover and explore a cave which was hard to find and find satisfieng rewards or rewards at all in them. Or another thing that bugs me is that you get to see tons of randomly generated creatures also through math which means you never know what is going to come out which finally means there won't be any background about anything in this game. There are millions of planets, creatures and green to explore but the only background to all of them will Math. No Evolutional breakthrough where you can relate to a creature becoming this way because the area forces it to. But although this is a critique point, you can't blame the developers to build such a huge scaled game and be responsible for any story behind anything(except for the center of the galaxy thing which just adds a goal to all this exploring).
Yeah procedural generation is cool. I've written programs that use it. Minecraft "survival mode" uses it. There are even Minecraft mods that let you create crazy worlds. It's interesting to explore for a while, but it gets boring quick when you realize it's just the illusion of an organic world. It looks like NMS has been really creative with math generated terrain, but I have yet to see ANYTHING that suggest this game will actually be fun to play.
Watching this all I can think about are the number of people that would watch this and just not understand a word of the concepts he's trying to convey even though the gist of this shouldn't be that difficult to grasp.
i have to say. i think im starting to understand that this game is being created by real life events, physics, technology and such things. for example if a sun is close to a planet it means that its more moist and hot, so this is being generated by random calculations on chances of planets being random. for example a planet is going to be grassy at a chance of 7% but., thats not it. the planet is going to be grassy if its moist which in turn takes us back to its sun, if its close and hot, its going to release gases that cause i to rain, the rain forms micro organisms than in turn takes shapes. this is going so deep that it they all go in a cycle which creates the planet and its organisms. this algorithm looks so easy but its very complicated. i mean if im wrong please tell me. im only 17 years old. english is my second language, i may be getting things wrong.
+Mustyzz Power No you are correct, that's exactly what they're trying to tell us. If the surroundings are say blue, the plants are blue whatever, then there might be small creatures that need protection so they are the same color as the plants so they are harder to see by predators. Also, creatures will go drink water when they're hungry, they'll sleep when they're sleepy etc. And yes if a planet is far away from the sun, it might be an icy planet, or have no life at all. And it's not just random, things actually depend on each other and will form a bigger whole.
it would be nice if there was one plabet where everyone is and can buy stuff like a save zone and you can fly off the planet where many other people are
+Marco Ferreira Thats exactly what he's doing. And I love this. He specifically said that he's keeping silent about most of the details of the game. I think there are way more varieties of landscapes, dense jungles, vast plains, great desert planets, and he also said that on many planets with life (which will only be about 10% of all planets), we WONT be at the top of the food chain. Imagine what type monsters we'll be running from while we're mining deep within an underground cave under the ocean.
hmm what about the the rest of the event, not very good coverage. In part one the video is just cut off, i thought this would carry on from there. what is going on?. stop limiting your coverage to get more views on individual videos, another dislike for the new Yorker and not nms
the engineering behind this game is astounding , kudos to those boys for that, it is really incredible ,these guys are very smart and skillful...but with that being said - what we have seen from the gameplay so far - nothing to write home about . Exploring the universe for the sake of exploring - finding new species and plants ..doesn't seem very lucrative game play to shell out $60 for ...
+pagadqs At this point, I might have to agree with you (although I really hope you're wrong and the game will be immersive even in the long run). He keeps hinting at that there is a more general objective to the game; something to do with getting to the center of the universe, but he still keeps many of those details in the dark, which has spawned some skepticism....nevertheless it will be a great game and I can't wait for it to come out. Really think it will change the video game industry for the better and I also hope that other of the bigger names in gaming will adopt this concept...just think how awesome it would be if say Battlefield procedural-generated an entire planet to fight on...instead of maps and lobbies, we would just play wherever the fight is going on
i just hope is is possible to vist other worlds with darker and not so vivid colours. for example the game evolve. That game had some really nice graphical maps and creatures and it wasnt all bright and colourfull.
Only if this was PC and Xbone playing together :( The community would be huge! To bad it's PS4 and PC where the chances of it being cross platform play, is very low :'(
Good ol' Colbert Prime

I can't unread that

These New Yorker videos about No Man's Sky just never last long enough :c 90 mins please!
What beautiful scenery, these designers have created a masterpiece in the form of a game
I learned more about No Man's Sky here than I did in probably all the other gamespot, ign, etc. interviews & previews
even if this game flops it is an amazing concept that can be used in future games.
Beauty, thanks a lot, i was hoping to see that portion of the show, but please sir can i have some more?
Please freeze me and wake me up when this games out
send me if you've found a giant freezer, maybe we can share the cost
4 more days to go!

Damned be you Kun !

Just received an e-mail, it will arrive in a matter of hours :D
I could listen to this devs voice FOREVER

If they can pull all that off and get enough variety to the planets so they don't look samey, which some already do in these demos, then it will be epic regardless of the main gamepaly just for exploration and adventure.
One last thing. Really hope for some dynamic weather and atmospheres that affect gameplay.
+LittleMuckyMe I agree. Hopefully that's why they don't have a release date.
I think they increase the rate of planets with life for the demo. He does not want to show us boring lifeless planets for the demo
+LittleMuckyMe He has confirmed somewhere that most planets are lifeless. He said it was rarer to find planets that are lush with life and habitable. Somewhere like less than 90% of planets are full of life.
The creatures also can be aggressive towards you.most of them are passive
+The Dark Voyage
yea but "flee" and "aggressive" still not good, i think the right would be have more variety of bihaviors like he said
I have to ask... Is there an aging system in No man's Sky?
Fx. will cubs grow old? will plants grow, wither and die?
More please :) This is fantastic
Buying this game when it comes out for sure looks like a lot of fun
That flycam reminds me of my zoo in Jurassic Park Operation Genesis. Man, it'd be awesome to see this game patch in tools to do those kinds of things one day.
Have the developers talked about weather systems/storms etc?
+David MacDonald yes but not much. We have seen rain in a few videos
+David MacDonald Almost every planet has its own weather paterns and storms. On some planets, there is even acid rain!
+Anthony Genaro now that's what I'm talking about!
+David MacDonald hell yeaahh!!!
Not to mention the planets all turn on their own axis meaning if you enter on the dark side, it's night :P I iz excited.
All of us will become the "number 1 biggest fan" , on June 21st, 2016!!
***** Hahaha! Sweet!
ok,seriously, you people need to quit complaining about how the video is too short, and how you want a sooner release date.
YES thank you thank you...
I've watched this many times but only now have I found out that this is still called the Colbert System😂😂
How can i missed that video?
will there be a parte 3?
im really hoping theres more to do in this game like possible missions etc since as as endless as this game seems doing the same thing on millions of random planets will eventually get dull. im not complaining this game looks amazing an cant wait to play it im just hoping it has a bit more depth rather than just being a great way to show off a great way to create games
what resolution does the game run at? because in the video it looks very low res, like 720p
I wouldn't even mind that this game's only mechanic is exploration if the stuff you could find was actually strange and interesting, but all they're doing is starting with a few basic template creatures and stretching them a bit. You'll never actually find anything bizarre. We were all disappointed with the "procedural generation" in Spore and we'll all be disappointed with it in this.
anyone else notice those little boxes underwater at 8:00? I wonder what those could be.
Please have giant sea creatures like Cthulhu!
+Kevin Zavala
for the size of the game planets i dont think it will have deep sea to dwell creatures cthulhu size but i think they can still put cthulhu size creatures on space, that would be awesome as well
+lucas erivânio The game planets are planet sized planets
I cant wait for this game!!! I love there realesing it when its ready rather than on a date. Just want to play this game so bad!!
+Rowen Henderson It worries me a bit that they never did early access for this I can see it having issues at launch.
+exodore2000 Why would they do early access?
Think of this there servers have never had a stress test.
exodore2000 Then they can do a beta before launch or something.
+Doofus I don't think they plan on doing a beta on this at all. Of course they could do one just it's never been mentioned. They have till June to do it.
Waiting for Cobra Tv bring to us the news!! He was at the New York Festival! I´am excited about.....
This game looks incredible :)
rumor has it coming out Oct 27th.
Are you gonna upload anything about haim?!!
you guys need to take a min and remember back to when minecraft first started asking for crowd funding in the early build. i was one of those pc gamers that bought in on that game. a game that at the time if you had seen a demo would have been no more than a tech demo. no idea of what to do or what is in the game...just the idea of a vast world to explore in was what you were given at first. then with time and money the small team lead by Notch added things to the game. over the years the game grew and grew and more and more gamers bought in. now look at he game some 10 or so years later and it is one of the most played games of all time, Hello games has already said this is their baby for life. that they will add more and more to the game as time and money come. so all these things that some of you want in a game like this...a real multi player option, base building option, the level of detail on any said planet...all of these kinda things can and most likely will be added to the game over time in future version of the game...much like ender man or horse's were add in minecraft... small dev teams like hello games and mojang have to build games like this...especially when their games are so large in scope.
Hopefully this game will be awesome.
Anyone knows if its going to be any kind of terra-fom option?
I hope you add survival elements and stories like in OUT THERE OMEGA ... I fixing love that game
More footage please!
Ich hoffe mal, dass auf dem PC die Sichtweite nicht so beschissen ist, dass da ständig nach 10meter die Texturen und Objekte aufploppen auf maximaler Einstellung -.-
like Daniel said. we need to be patient. A game like this really doesn't exist yet, at least on console, i would rather wait a few months for an awesome game than have it right now and it be "ok".
what are the boxes at 8:00
Hidden treasure?
It's Dr. Awesome my first thought that came to mind was like components for upgrades or something
+Vote for Bernie It is :) When you see a planet and arrive, there's gonna be certain markers on the mini-map which indicates drops and hidden things.
It show in an ign showcase that when you get it you get money and parts
nice textures whenever he turns
this man can have his way with me I LOVE YOU SEAN :P
I see some problems in this game. Since it's pure mathematically created it is likely to let's say discover and explore a cave which was hard to find and find satisfieng rewards or rewards at all in them. Or another thing that bugs me is that you get to see tons of randomly generated creatures also through math which means you never know what is going to come out which finally means there won't be any background about anything in this game. There are millions of planets, creatures and green to explore but the only background to all of them will Math. No Evolutional breakthrough where you can relate to a creature becoming this way because the area forces it to. But although this is a critique point, you can't blame the developers to build such a huge scaled game and be responsible for any story behind anything(except for the center of the galaxy thing which just adds a goal to all this exploring).
does this demo contain a graphics glitch or is the game designed in piss green?
This. This is fucking beautiful.
Vaporware
I wish we could get some gameplay that is more than just walking around a planet
i can't wait for this game
It would be cool to see the navi
these gameplay video's if the new yorker didn't get my attention back to this game.
The guy from "The New Yorker" looked like a stereotypical New Yorker. Well played.
i have to say. i think im starting to understand that this game is being created by real life events, physics, technology and such things. for example if a sun is close to a planet it means that its more moist and hot, so this is being generated by random calculations on chances of planets being random. for example a planet is going to be grassy at a chance of 7% but., thats not it. the planet is going to be grassy if its moist which in turn takes us back to its sun, if its close and hot, its going to release gases that cause i to rain, the rain forms micro organisms than in turn takes shapes. this is going so deep that it they all go in a cycle which creates the planet and its organisms. this algorithm looks so easy but its very complicated. i mean if im wrong please tell me. im only 17 years old. english is my second language, i may be getting things wrong.
And it's not just random, things actually depend on each other and will form a bigger whole.
i love this man so much
i am so excited
it would be nice if there was one plabet where everyone is and can buy stuff like a save zone and you can fly off the planet where many other people are
is the sound that i hear the soundtrack that 65daysofstatic made for this game?
5:30 he can see the matrix like neo. He is the one.
lol the Colbert Prime, MINE!
I'm seeing some redundant information here, but I think thats because Sean does not want to spoil the game and he is probably hidding stuff from us.
+MrDacaramelbrotha Its gonna be an awesome trip!
+MrDacaramelbrotha lol this game will be the best if I land on a planet and I see giants walking monster looking things
hmm what about the the rest of the event, not very good coverage. In part one the video is just cut off, i thought this would carry on from there. what is going on?. stop limiting your coverage to get more views on individual videos, another dislike for the new Yorker and not nms
what is that in the rock on 9:12? :S
The fov is quite high. pretty low (peripheral? ) vision. gimme a fov slider
Where do I get this
its coming out in june for 60-75 USD for PS4 and PC
These are some hard working people
Imagine destroying a whole planet with a laser beam
the engineering behind this game is astounding , kudos to those boys for that, it is really incredible ,these guys are very smart and skillful...but with that being said - what we have seen from the gameplay so far - nothing to write home about .
That game had some really nice graphical maps and creatures
and it wasnt all bright and colourfull.
he is so interesting to listen to
This looks like the game that spore never was
Only if this was PC and Xbone playing together :( The community would be huge! To bad it's PS4 and PC where the chances of it being cross platform play, is very low :'(
