Slowly they've come out with updates and I expect many more. After what happened with their launch I believe they'll just stick to perfecting no man's sky first before making anything new.
That's still no excuse regarding the marketing hype prior to the launch and charging $60 at release. If you're a small team making a low budget game, then at least sell the game for $20-30 i.e. Subnautica and the like.

Flamethrower Bf and Cod they need to add monsters or like really aggressive creatures on planets that aren’t animal like or have animal traits I wanna land on a planet and see something truly terrifying
I get that there are so many angry customers that refuse these devs a second chance. It's because they've only seen malicious companies like EA and Activision pulling such moves for their gain. The bad half of the industry has sapped all trust from them.
I myself have a few things I think would take the exploration to the next level: -Huuuuuge animals you can see from seemingly miles away, possibly some you can build upon, or mine off of. (Maybe they like you if you clean all the resources off of its back.) Maybe whales or giant sharks or giant sea monsters. Make some of them lethal too. -More fantastical biomes. Floating mountains and islands. Maybe a hellish lava world with a volcano huge enough to take up a continent with a mouth you can build a geothermal base inside of. Maybe ocean planets that are almost *entirely* water, save for the gravity generator at its core, or something. Maybe some quests where you have to repair the gravity well, and until it's done, the water flows in huge spouts and tentacles that your ship has to avoid, else it gets stuck and soaked. Make a base where you can build a sub. -Maybe give the animals more intelligence. Make predators put more technique and strategy in hunting you, like packs. Maybe there's primitive structures, like dens, dams, or huts. How about primitive tribal creatures that smash up your vehicles if you leave it unattended, or inhabit crashed freighters? I can imagine they run for the hills if you pull up your freighter overhead. -It would also be insanely immersive if certain animals could interact at further ranges. Look through your binoculars, you see a big something with claws stalking you, or a huge bird of prey or dragon alien, circling overhead, looking for the right time to strike. Maybe that primitive tribe is sniping you from far away with spears and arrows from the cover of tall grass or trees. -Some things could also use some scaling up. Trees that you can fly up vertically along, faults wide and deep enough to build a small metro in, that continental volcano. Don't just take the lead. Keep it, and leave everyone else in the dust.
@@Dubs22005 Ikr I was hoping for a 3D Starbound. But some of my examples give another dimension to the experience. Things you can't defeat by yourself with your weapons or your ship (Giant animals and aggressive primitives/predators) keeps you on your toes and make you approach exploration differently and more carefully. More fantastical backdrops (Giant artificial ocean planet or flying mountains) make you approach exploration and building differently. More unique and varied animals and primitive races (Imagine trading for rare materials or trade to show you're not a threat) make you approach interaction differently. Ugh, when I'm thinking about the possibilities, I just can't stop rambling!

@uchiuzu23 Yeah earlier I just aimlessly walked across a lush planet for an hour, just taking everything in. This is definitely the game to sell VR headsets.
The Doctor Yeah lol. This is the first time I play it. And it’s a mixed bag really. More positive than negative, and also, almost all my problems are from the PSVR version. I mean it lacks basic features like changing how fast the smooth turning is. Or like I had a mission to take a photo of a specific planet, but VR apparently has no photo mode, even though the tooltip told me so. So as a result, I had to quit the game, play in non-VR, then quit again and play in VR again. And there is like a 1 minute loading time at least. How Sean talked about how the team was so dedicated to the VR version, made me think it would be amazing. But when it lacks basic features that all my other PSVR games have. I feel like he is still lying. Unless they just left PSVR out, and the PC based is way better, but I know nothing about that.
Down side is a lot of games do this now and it's unfortunate cause you buy what should be only a $15 $30 game for twice the price and companies try to give stuff out for free to make up for it, but the companies just need to release a full functioning game like they say they would when announced. It just feels like a shame with new games not the same as older ones.
Downloaded it again Saturday and haven't stop playing since. Love the interaction with the NPC's and the building in general is a lot of fun. Exploration is amazing! The game has come a long way since release.
I bought this game 1 day before launch because I was on the hype, and I was so disappointed after some hours of gameplay that I uninstalled it and forgot about the game for many months. I've been following what the devs at Hello Games was doing since the beginning, and when I found that the game changed for the better, I gave it another try. They literally didn't stoped working and updating the game since the dust has settled. We are in 2022 and they just released another big update improving many things on the game, and promissed there is more to come. My respect for the guys at Hello Games.
Never seen a game make such a comeback. Honestly i think their mistake was releasing the game too soon but hey props to them for improoving it significantly now.
JustSomeDude yeah they denied an extension for the game marking it the mess it was. On a more optimistic note though since they released it so early they got tons of community feedback to aid in development
Also doesn't help having your office with most the work done for ruined by flooding. That was another issue though I don't think it was the most severe thing but definitely caused some problems
I agree with you guys! I've enjoyed NMS since the first release.. I think that's because I just love space way too much and the thought of exploring planets was a dream come true!
Most people fail to realize it’s not supposed to be like the popular mainstream games you see today. It’s different and yes I heard it was crap when it first came out but from my experience it keeps me captivated for hours. The artwork is fantastic and the concept of space is there which is what I really enjoy about the game. If you aren’t a fan of space than you might not like this type of game. There is really a lot to explore. People need to actually invest in the game to really understand it.
Yea but the plants all look the same. It’s just barren wasteland with rocks & plants all over the place. The art looks nice from space but the mechanics are incredibly complex.
@@michaelweston409 Late reply, I know, but to me, most of of the planets being somewhat plain don't really bother me. I find there are enough structures and player-made buildings that it's believable in the same way as America during the 1700s, if that makes any sense lol. I will say I disagree with them all looking the same, though, all planets I've come across are incredibly unique, and whenever I see one similar to the past, it takes a WHILE to find two very similar ones.
Had any scares yet? I landed on one planet, walked about fifty feet from my ship, heard chittering and suddenly saw like 5 predatory spider-mantises the size of dobermans. Never had a more panicked scramble to my ship, seriously felt like a Lost in Space moment
How limited is the vr version in comparison to the game as a whole? I'm buying a psvr. Already bought fnaf help wanted and superhot. But those are for a bit of fun.
VR is definitely my new favourite way to play the game and apart from being a bit fiddly when piloting the vehicles everything else way is better in my opinion.
I think the NEXT update was the first real showing of what the game should have been. The updates prior to NEXT were a good show of faith. Now it's really worth it. However it's still a mining and grinding survival game at heart.
I'm more into just exploring and building a small fleet. Not a huge fan of base building but I've made a few outposts lol. No matter what you like to do in the game it will always devolve back to mining and grinding at some point though
*this game has improved so much that it is easily one of my favorite space exploration games. The sense of adventure makes me have so much fun in this game.*

Im been at no man since the beggining, my recommendation is to start fresh as a new game and pretend a few days ago was the game release, why a new game? is because my old save file stick with all the old planets pressets + the new size spawn items and sometime my game crash, i start a new game and i felt the difference and expansive look of the new planets generated... give them a second chance, just like Sea Of Thieves, is not gonna be your MAIN GAME TO PLAY but is gonna be your "Guilty Pleasure" game to relax and explore at your pace... (play on permadeath, to give you a more "life" value care... and apreciate more and think more about your next move before exploring)

My biggest complaint is the combat. The ship combat is fine but the weapons are weird and it's not fun to fight things. They could have made combat fun like in sci-fi shooters. Imagine being able to board giant ships and you have to fight your way through it to either take the ship, plant explosive charges, or steal the cargo. Imagine finding rare randomly generated dungeons on planets where you need multiple players. Get to the end and you're rewarded with ancient alien technology or amazing weapons. It would also mean they could add a fun PvP aspect to the game. Imagine if something like destiny had the exploration of no man's sky. It just seems like there's a lot of wasted potential.
Well, if they be put this "MMO-Like" mechanics, i hope they put it in a new mode, call it, i don't know, "Adventure" mode or something, i'll definitely enjoy it, but the normal mode could just stay as it is, i find the core game good the way it is, and putting a MMO style of game on Normal Mode won't work well, not for me at least, i like the loneliness of the base game and it will be really lame if they change that. But as a separeted mode will be awesome.
I'm pretty sure more updates are coming in the future, you should voice your opinion to them on twitter and they might just take some stuff from it and add it to the game, you never know.
@Starwarrior 7 It really isn't actually that hard to get the stuff. Before the update there was a dupe glitch you could do. Just grind a little bit to make a stasis device then dupe it and you'd have max units in like 10 or 20 minutes. S class stuff can be found by people sharing portal coordinates.

There's VR, in a game that was never intended to get VR when it was first launched. As part of the game price, not as a separate game, and with seamless gameplay with those that don't use VR as well. This update alone provides at least 3 things to do with multiplayer that other games would either not support or charge as an entirely different game download for, just for VR support and multiplayer. With the third being seamless multiplayer via just entering an area in your world that instantly connects you to every single player the game can support in there aswell. And doing missions on the fly with strangers in there as well. May not have been worth it at the time, but this update basically makes it worth the cost of an entire new game considering how many devs would charge just for VR support.

I myself have a few things I think would take the exploration to the next level:
-Huuuuuge animals you can see from seemingly miles away, possibly some you can build upon, or mine off of.

*Improvise. Adapt. Overcome.*
I feel like masterpiece is bit of an exaggeration but yeah it’s certainly better than what we got originally.

I agree, ship combat kinda sucks, but every other aspect is so much better
Check out a new game (not released) Starbase

They fixed 90% of the "game breaking" bugs in the first 2 days of launch.
@James Vasquez not really. I play on PC and that never happened to me
If you have waited until now to buy this game I can assure you it is finally time to get it. I got it yesterday and while the systems are complex at first they become simple if you put about 2 hours into the game. After that point the game becomes incredibly addictive and progress is very frequent. As someone who vehemently hated the game on launch, I absolutely love this new polished beyond version. It's on sale quite often and if you buy a hard copy at a game store it is even cheaper. 4/5 Not a masterpiece but a damn good game and worth your money. Especially if you like RPG/CREATIVE/SURVIVAL games.
Is it purely solo
@@J.C.180 Yes and no.
You can play solo (you will encounter other solo players on stations and the anomaly hub)
But you can also create a multiplayer world that you can play in with your friends who have the game.
Tell me how it can become addictive because I’m currently bored out my gord.
"Make it feel like Minecraft for science games"
That's all I needed to hear
minecraft has been a science game for several years. heard of tech mods? you can make like huge factories and stuff, and it is REALLY in depth. better than factorio even!
Hittin the late night uploads for us night owls 😤😤 I respect and appreciate it 😂👌🏼
Retendo you must come from one of those made up countries like Australia
9am for me :^)
Hoot hoot I'm a night owl
Because the earth isn't flat
When you fail to realize that it's not night everywhere in the world
I really want them to change the way planets' atmospheres look up close, like the one at 0:10.
I mean make the clouds a little more detailed, cast some shadows. It will really make it a hundred times better. It's a serious immersion breaker imo
Me: I'm going to sleep
Gamranx: *Posted late night video*
Also Me: guess not...
same but i stopped watching because of the discord notification noises in the background
It's a bit buggy now but since launch theve released 4 patches and counting, so in a week or so everything should be cleared up
There were supposedly 4 patches, yet i encountered problems that bother me more than ever. One was losing my own ship, when i "bought" a crashed one on a planet (which worked fine previously as i retained both). I also had a few problems when aiming at some sitting NPCs or interactables (like gun rack with a good looking gun), but interact with it. Not to mention camera keeps jumping in tight places. The content and gameplay is quite great though.
Games still broken. No excuse. Like literally all the gameplay mechanics are broken.
@@nolives Seen many different comments about this. I think some people (like me) experience just a little of the bugs and can play a lot (or perhaps do not indulge into "bug territory" in great expense), where there are people who constantly get crashes, bugs and cannot play consistently. It makes me feel sad, because the game was so good and now it plummets down like a shot down airplane...
@@nolives Hello there
I feel Hello games has done all this support because they truly love this game and they have put so much care and attention into after its incredibly disappointing launch. Even after its terrible launch I've been one of the people who have stuck with the game. I saw so many things being put in and taken out over these past three years that everything was different, every time I booted up the game. Now I feel its very playable and quite a nice chill experience which keeps me satisfied
Take into account this update is brand new and patches are in the works so a lot of the glitches and VR problems will be mostly gone
They already fixed some bugs i encountered. Floating spaceships that dont move happened every 5 minutes or so yesterday. Havent seen it in the last 4 hours tho after the patch yesterday. I think in about 3 weeks it will be stable and most of the bugs are gone.
I eill start playing once they fix the glitch were you fall threw space stations and die
@@lachy6734 i didnt even die. Game just crashed. But that should be fixed in a few days.
I had to turn up my Graphics down some but I seem to be mostly smooth other than the some of the ship interactions, can't wait till they patch it so I can crank my settings back up on high.
"No Man's Sky Beyond - After You Buy" title. is. fixed.
I said if they fixed the game and added VR, I'd buy the game.
Bought the game day 1 of this release. Never thought they would follow through
There's VR, in a game that was never intended to get VR when it was first launched.
May not have been worth it at the time, but this update basically makes it worth the cost of an entire new game considering how many devs would charge just for VR support.
they did great work what a amazing team
I should’ve refunded it and got some money back, But i’m glad I didn’t and kept playing to watch it slowly turn into the Real No man’s Sky!
Would you say its worth the purchase at this point?
@@almightykeys4734 Yes!!!!
Almighty Keys Yeah, I mean I even enjoyed it when it came out too. Was just disappointed when a lot of the features told on release where false. But yeah if you love exploration games this is a great one!
Thanks for the help guys. I will buy it :)
My reply to the 'bored' guy in the comments section, it's worth reposting:
If 'almost nothing to do enjoyably' in the game = taming, riding, milking, feeding, killing, cooking and scanning animals, amassing a fleet of frigates spearheaded by a massive freighter and sending them on interstellar missions, building massive bases, farms and factories with their own logic gates and power grids, flying spaceships, driving dune buggies and Dark Knight-style motorbikes, riding in submarines, learning 4 different foreign languages, completing a variety of different mission types to raise your faction with multiple guilds, visiting truly bizarre planets and taking amazing photos to share on Reddit, finding blueprints and crafting upgrades to turn your basic exosuit, bargain spaceship and shoddy multitool into amazing technological masterpieces of form and function, unlocking the secrets of portals that can send you to any planet in the universe, hunting for ancient treasures, scrapped technologies and scouring old ruins to discover ancient lore, braving terrible radioactivity, superheated rainstorms or bitter cold to acquire profitable storm crystals, mixing random substances together in large refiners to see what mystery substance is produced, fighting off savage dinosaurs, relentless robots, and warping from system to system in your dilapidated space hauler, buying low and selling high while fighting off pirates or bribing them to leave you alone...then you must be really bored. You have my sympathies.
I think this comment just sold me on this game. Didn’t know you could do all that.
I really want this game now. Too bad my computer's garbage
It's seems you have lot of free time :)
@「Catch the Rainbow」 「Blackmore」 You can just buy materials from space stations. Or you can create your own automatic mining facilities. When you start the game you'll need to do a fair bit of mining and harvesting, but part of the fun is discovering creative ways to reduce the grind on your own. Fortunately the game provides a lot of options for that once you sink your teeth in it.
@@suz5417 I've barely scratched the surface of some of those activities. But I've been following the game since it was first announced back in 2013.
Now in 2021 the game has passed all expectation IMO and they are still adding stuff to this day!!
I'll be honest, this gives me an impression of No Man's Sky having better chances of becoming what Star Citizen strives to be than Star Citizen.
Ha... You don't know Chris Roberts. Star Citizen is so far ahead of its time for any genre of game. It's expected that progress would be slow considering they are doing things that haven't been done before, and on such scale.
@@SureJustCurious Buyer's Remorse: The Game
@@SureJustCurious Everything they are doing has been done before though. By the time they could make any meaningful progress aside from churning out ships to make money off whales committing Sunk cost Fallacy, other games will surpass them. The game was meant to be finished in 2014, its 5 years later. My suggestion would be just let it go, come back once its finished, if it worked out? great you have a game to play, If it didnt? be glad you didnt waste time and money on something that was made to be dragged out and slowly suck people dry

Next revamped the game, Beyond is basically revamping the revamp - making it way better.
Also The Nexus is a cool thing.
Edit: Also VR for the PSVR and all of the PC headsets, tho the PC version is having some issues that will be patched here soon.
this game is SOOOO AMAZING on VR
Ivan Timofeev gives me motion sickness lol
it's amazing! the movement is a bit weird though haha
@@lucasbakeforero426 the movement is just like any other vr game
@@cksk101 motion sickness is tight to the VR headset
if yours is shit then don't complain about it, is not the games fault
mine achieves 90 fps which isn't enough for me and I get motion sickness after a couple of hours, but I just used it often enough to get used to it
maybe in the future will upgrade to Valves VR, it delivers 120 fps refresh rate so there's that
if your machine isn't powerful enough for getting to at least 60 fps either then it still isn't fault of the game, bur yours for having a rig not good enough
I have a gtx 1070 and use 1080p ress which is totally enough for it to surpass 90 fps in game
Ivan Timofeev not necessarily, some people are more prone to motion sickness than others. For example, i get sick in a car pretty quickly
i really like the direction the game is going, my only hope is the populate some planets more. I want paradise planets to actually have settlements on them, i want more RPG elements to sink my teeth into but maybe thats just me
I just want to say that I only discovered your channel 2 days ago and you clearly are one of my favorite channels and I am so happy I found you but I just can't believe it's been so late.
I've been playing no man sky since it came out and I seen it improve over the years
I am looking forward to the next update
I just bought this game recently while it was on PlayStation store discounts for $24.99 I think. It's actually a very good game. I went into it blind only knowing it had the biggest map in video game history. Literally you basically would pretty much have to go on forever just to see the whole map. I like this game actually.
might be time for another one of these!
Took them 3years to fix the game and that's good.
I am having a feeling that No man's sky will become like minecraft with these all the updates. Everybody will start playing and it'll become a trend
Its basically the same as last year but with VR and a multiplayer hub you can spawn. Either you are a hypocrite and say that every update. Or you havent even looked at the game in 3 years.
Yea the biggest thing both my Son and I got from this game early on. was that the Devs were actually listening in real time to what people were bitching about or asking for and they actually responded. Fixing stuff and delivering. That is so F'ing rare nowadays in this WamBam thankyou game world. One other thing we noticed & really really appreciated, was the download speeds of updates were not throttled back like almost all the other games. Updates were often - they were fast and on point. Respect to the team for not just taking the money and running.
This game is basically my childhood dream in VR.
I'm loving the VR tbh. Probably one of the better VR experiences I've played. Turns out I'm a sh!t VR space pilot though... who knew? 🤣
