Sean Murray is one cool dude. You can tell he really cares about his creation.
Yea man he does a reason why i like the guy he cares about his game
Frankenstein cared about his creation....
+Krad Nogard Gaming But when he finished it, he finially understood what abominal horror he had created (appearance wise ofc)
Did you know his beard is procedurely generated
Lol! Yes!
On a serious note, holy crap, 65daysofstatic did an EPIC job with the score. It's sounding amazing and so overwhelming at parts. Those distorted synths and mysterious chords kicking in as I find an alien cave full of scaly unicorns are gonna give me chills. The amount of painstaking work going into every detail of this game is incredible.
LOL I didn't know you played video games Rouge. This is surprising. Please tell me you'll make a track that has the same sounds that this sexy beast of a game has.
+Rogue ayyy Rogue. Completely agree, seems to be such an immersive experience, can't wait.
Ive been planning to play this game with my personal playlist. And 'rogue - Nightfall' is at the top of my list. Nostalgia aye.... Also collab plz bby? Soundcloud, Bassalisk
I amforcing myself to know as little as possible about this gane. want to find it all out myself. want as many surprises as possible.
media back out, kind of
***** Thats true for the expecies and planets. But not for understanding the games mechanics. For understanding how the world functions and my role in it. I see pleasure in gradually understanding more and more of the world arround. What I can do to the world and what it can do to me.
AMAZING FACT: Sean Murray's beard is procedurally generated.
it was the prototype of the procedural generation
Im starting to think that this game was made specifically for me. My word, it looks so beautiful in every way.
Yup, I wish there were more games I really enjoy like this
I think it was made for me actually. But it's cool, I'll share.
Wow, Sean Murray's beard is almost as big as No Man's Sky
And growing...
+Drake Ko Every Hair Procedural
+Earl Murray omg you just made my day! XD
+Earl Murray someone make this a feature. I want to find his procedural beard at the centre of the galaxy.
+Lennon Thomas yeah but is Hagrid's beard procedural
Really hoping this game lives up to the hype. So far everything about it looks incredible.
+meganisaghost What looks incredible? That it's big? Yes, and what else?
+Khazy K the freedom man, its the freedom.
+Lt Cowson you have ps4?
you proably have xbox 1 and angry about it
+Lt Cowson just look at the gameplay
i have all my faith in this game, and i dont think this game will disappoint me at all no matter what
Sean's enthusiasm is contagious. So is his desire to create and be innovative.
Damn Sean, back at it again with the universe building !
I love how Sean moves his hands and expresses what he feels with passion
me to so much passion
E3 Trailer: You Had My Curiosity
Gameplay Trailer: You Had My Attention
This Video: Now I'm excited
As the No Mans Sky universe grows, so does Sean Murray's beard.
+Shmalex lmfaooooo
+Shmalex It would be funny if he shaved it off after the game releases.
Lol as long as it's not like that guy from Ancient Aliens with the crazy hair.
+Aaron Goselin f that, his hair was one of the reasons i watch ancient aliens....seeing that growth over the years
+Shmalex Sean Murray's beard... is the universe~~~~
Hello Games has become my top innovative game company. Hats off
Joe danger was not innovative and this is not even out yet lol whatever that marketing is doing its working with you hahaha
+danrg26 sucky troll is sucky
+Malik Walker I don't think you know what trolling is kiddo
+danrg26 I don't think he was talking about Joe danger...
+The Mexican Joker eeeeee he said game company well that's what they did so far
This isn't an IGN First video is the PlayStation channel uploaded it FIRST...
+AstrixCentral I was about to say the same thing. ^^ They made it seem like their "month" was an exclusive, but it seems to be a couple of videos made by (I'm guessing) Hello Games and given to everyone, interspersed with empty montages by IGN, like the "tour of 5 beuatiful planets" (in a system with only 2 planets, which implies 3 were moons...). Very disappointing on IGN's part, even though it's no fault of Hello Games'.
Who cares foh minecraft dude
+AstrixCentral "IGN at least we tried." :D
+AstrixCentral I just want to know what the point of this game is
+John Lewis its a space exploration/survival game. I am super HYPED for this game!!!
They sound like they took a Dark Souls approach to storytelling and I can most certainly dig that.
I was thinking the same thing
+Nathan Poirier Ehhhhhh
+Nathan Poirier You mean a Metroid Prime Approach
i will defiantly be playing Interstellar Soundtrack while exploring No Mans Sky
Right?!!
+Chronas 9.9 dont, NMS will have it's own procedurally generated soundtrack.
+Chronas 9.9 defiantly eh?
+patricio torre seriously?!?
Milleretta Norsk Gaming yes, seriously.
Part of the reason I'm looking forward to this game (Besides the fact I've subconsciously wanted something like it throughout my childhood) is the fact that I can have so much faith in the creators. It's so easy to tell they really care about making a fantastic game in every aspect. It's encouraging for the future of gaming, they'll hopefully set a precedent that indie-like gaming has endless potential
Some say Seans' beard has over 18 Quintillion hairs, this is more than the number of stars in NMS, and his beard is NOT procedurally generated making it a true wonder.
Procedurally generated Beard.
😆😆😆
if they get the planets as godly as that beard mind would = blown
It's all just some maths algorithms ;)
The crumbs contained in his beard hold lore of their own. Were they this mornings breakfast? Perhaps they emerged by clumsily opening of a bag chips? Let us speculate.
Wow. This video was gorgeous. The new galactic map is so beautiful. I can't wait.
But... PlayStation put this video up like an hour or so ago, so IGN second* lol
+LifeisShit Maybe Thank god IGN had nothing to do with the productions of these videos!
Games like this, something that feeds that natural craving to explore and love everything around you, makes you just think that most of the games you've played have been pure marketing. But here you can literally feel the love that Sean put into every inch of this game. I just want to sell all of my other games and just dedicate all of my passion for gaming to No Man's Sky.
The concept art is beautiful
I must have seriously missed something. I had no bloody idea Gibbons was on board with this. This is so awesome! Cool to see him using a ruddy great cintiq. Aw man this is such a cool vid!
Sean's beard is gathering energy for the release date.
This game is extremely awesome and I cannot wait for it to be released. And it's not only the game that is very inspirational for me but it's the dev team, especially Sean Murray, the Lead Programmer I think, inspire me a lot. They chased their dreams to create this awesome experience, this awesome game and finally have come to the point of finalization and that only with a few people. Truly awesome dev team created a truly awesome video game. Gonna sink tons of hours into this game.
Lore is the most interesting thing in games in my opinion
safe to say
I agree with everything they said here about old comic books and when games used to come with a booklet to read about it, etc. and some of the old school feels. Yes, bring it because those were the good old days.
It took me a second to realize that the freaking artist of Watchmen is working on this.
+Gurb He's working on the comic book which comes with limited edition. I'm so hyped for it!
The music game me an interstellar feel. I've been so excited for this game and this makes me even more excited
sameeeee
Some people estimate that the amount of bread crumbs that can lose themself into Shean Murrays beard is even bigger than the number of planets in the game.
Everytime I watch a new video about no mans sky, it improves my opinion of this game. Honestly can't wait for this game, will have no life when this is released.
Sean Murray - "Making games Great again!"
+Seraphim190 He will build a wall between COD, and his games
VancouverCanucksRock lololz
Royce Barber i should have just replied "mexico" it was funny in my head. but nahhh
Royce Barber lolz
You can see the exciment in Sean eyes, this game was his journey from being the unknow shy guy to be a the guy who makes the most biggest game in the world, a real Legend!
Sean Murray has been working on this game so much, he hasn't had time to shave his beard.
+Bruzzy Edwards That is pretty funny, but honestly he can have an intern shave his beard professionally in under ten minutes without having to take his eyes off a screen. Not that he works 24/7, he and his team are hard workers though. I think he's growing the beard to be a reflection of the time taken to finish up the game. The time in which the game took longer than he expected to make. And when it's released, he'll possibly shave the beard on stage, or have a raffle to let a fan shave it.
I have never followed any game for even half as long as I have researched and followed No Man's Sky, and I am loving it more and more from all I've seen, heard, and read! CANNOT WAIT TO PLAY IT!
Sean Murray - Making Games Great Again.
+Simranjit Simran It sounds almost too good to be true for me. I've been tricked by the hype too many times though, waiting until reviews.
It's not really Hype since they haven't shown that much of the game, or make scripted events happen in the game, Sean would just visit a random planet and see how things would turn out, in the Division trailer, the events are scripted, as well as a few other games do, which makes them seem way better than what they really are
thanks for following no mans sky i hope evryone is hyped and ready for june 21st/24th
Yes! Finally a kinda long video!
Stona Raptor no, I just want a 30 minute video of new gameplay! I just want it too much. Lol.
So close, yet so far...
the end gave me chills and put me on the point where i can't wait much longer to play this game!
More like "IGN Second", since it's another channel's video.
L
+Dward O kira
LowlyKnight1 sonyplaystation!
They must have some deal with Sony, but it's weird with all the PS4 branding yet IGN have the rights to put up the same video 3 hours earlier...interesting
+Arien Van Stralen And with their logo on it!
A playstation made video brought to you on IGN.. even though it wasn't your content, thanks for showing us something of a decent duration and meaty substance! Hype is again building :)
Such a shame Xbox player will never experience this beautiful game😂😂😂😂😆😆😆
but it's going to be on pc too so any xbox player that has a decent enough pc and play this lol but yeah that's true overall
+imaspazz1 Xbox players typically don't do pc cause they are to hardcore fanboy. I'm kinda split though. I don't know if I want it for ps4 or pc.
+TheAgentTexas If you can afford a decent PC then I see no reason to get a PS4. Although PS usually has really good exclusives. For mer personally the sacrifice of those and getting a great PC experience is worth it.
I bought a ps4 2 days after I found out about no mans sky
+TheAgentTexas Xbox One is essentially a mid-range gaming PC with less benefits.
At it's heart, NMS is a true love story....
finally a longer video
+Chiz TheSaiyan thats because this video is from sony. IGN just uploaded it again and put IGN First in the title.
The First game in years to actually capture such a large audience. Let us all just enjoy this. Don't expect it to be like any other game. this is indeed the first of its kind.
i was never excited for this game, until now lol, I'm into this universe exploring, i guess i didn't wanna get my hopes up for that long. but it looks pretty good
It's okay, just feel the hype
I seriously cannot wait to get my hands on this gonna be supper fun and beautiful to look at.
+Michael Rowand Same!
It's ironic that an author has better grips on how to present a story in a game more so than AAA developers
And that this game doesn't really have a full story it's still better than AAA games with stories
In past interviews, Sean has mentioned the possibility of people NOT liking it, but the fact that THEY are so excited for it, and you can see the passion they have for it. Some people might not like it, but for those of us who do, I think/hope we'll be very pleased.
But I was excited for Destiny too...so what do I know, really
+Bo Opgenorth Good thing I practically ignored everything about Destiny until the Beta came out.
Pre-ordered the game today! Can't wait!
+youchube And you know this... how?
+youchube pre-ordering something is basically you saying that you have faith in a game and it's quality. I am confident that this game will turn out to be a huge success. I don't think Sony would market it so heavily if it wasn't looking good.
GamerGhazzawi I agree... Sony and Hellogames would look really bad when the hype is not at least percale true.
+AstralDimensions Sony are marketing this more than ratchet and clank and on about the same level as uncharted. They can see it's the next big thing.
Toby Hendricks But if they deliver a bad game it will have consequences! How mad will the community be then. I would never trust them on there deep blue eyes ever again!
One day we're gonna look back at this game with nostalgia. No Man's Sky is going to be the start of something amazing.
1 month, 3 weeks, 6 days and 22 hours to go.
woooooo
+DNAGamingUK that sounds amazing
Y dont u just say 2 months
+Mahmoud Hamada sorry, next time I'll add in seconds
+TehHarris Don't forget those micro-seconds :D
Sean's beard is a scale of how much the game is done. He has a full beard now, and the game is about to be released.
Also it's been taunting me in my Steam library for the past two months.
I'm gonna write down my story of no man's sky.I think it will be pretty cool
Yes! I wanted to do the same with Destiny but never got around to it. But now this is the perfect opportunity.
+ThatGamerGuyOscar what do you guys mean?
+Juan Molina to write a down you're story in no mans sky it would be cool
+AMAZ E yeah that seams like a cool idea
+AMAZ E Id read it.
thanks for the longer video! no more 5- min videos :) this was awesome! cannot wait for this
Still a better love story than twilight
+Jack Carden #EvenIn2016
oddly they mentioned larry niven who partnered with steven barnes who wrote the Dream Park saga which is a VR LARPG interesting that that may actually happen
By the way wouldn't it be awesome to have generated cities instead of just stations.
+Actinium Oxide no man sky 2
+Actinium Oxide Expansion day :P
AstralDimensions hopefully
+Actinium Oxide Well if the modding community takes off I guarantee that someone will mod that within a year.
I hope the game will turn out as majestic as Sean's Beard
+PsiQss xD
PC players better get a .pdf of those comics.
one will be made. by the fans if not anyone else. you can count on a pdf
No all players should get the comic in game
beautiful, thats the only word that can describe this
can't wait to play it on PC
+ThatGamer PC is fantastic.
+Wolf I don't think it is coming out on Xbox at the moment
+james wasda u dont have a PC i know who you are lol
Ruben J. Henriquez 1.) yes, I built a pc in January.
2.) how do you know who I am?
thank you god, creative people doing momentous things. using their talents to create something that stands the test of time... literally !!
this is why i want the centre of the universe to be just a mirror. imagine if the lore turned out to be that the sentinels wiped out all civilisations to help "rid the universe" of people that were only going to destroy it but had to leave one of each intelligent organism behind because they were programmed not to make a species go extinct. so each player in the game could be a procedurally generated species, each different from the next, or there could be like 20 races that you are one of that were able to survive. and in order to see what you look like, you have to get to the centre and look at the mirror and when you do it will tell you everything about your race, their history, their empire and ultimately how they fell to the sentinels. you could then spend time visiting the relics of your civilisation scattered around the universe to find out more about them. it would be great but unlikely :/
I think it is important to ask why is it that we appear to be alone in this universe. we are capable of interstellar travel, faster than the speed of light, yet the closest life form other than non intelligent animals or computers, is whole star systems away. surely there should be thousands upon thousands of world, massively populated by hype intelligent beings...yet there is nothing. you may go the entire game and never meet another life form. There must have been some major event (it is cliche but "great war") that removed life and actually the point of the game was thought to be exploring, but is actually finding the truth of what happened and what life used to be like.
You sir, are brilliant and should work at Hello Games
+Eduardo Ferreira I wanted to but they said they had no need for people like me on their website :/ but thank you. i want to write game lore for indie games at some point..or at least give it a go.
+Daniel White bruh that dark af..and really deep i could see something like that happening
+ninetails625 thanks man. Yeah i kinda brought a bummer on the game XD but not all games have happy endings..and sometimes they are the most memorable.
Daniel White indeed they are
That may be the coolest looking cover art I've ever seen.
All I want to know is will there be space whales
+Barry Allen Only if England is floating through space
yes
+adrian diaz game of the year
Ayy lmaoo
He said they might add it into the game a few months ago
So on top of having one of the most brilliantly original and innovative game programming techniques, NMS now also has an interwoven lore created by the minds behind one of the greatest graphic novels of all time...
Good video. This feeds the hype. We are hyped.
However watching this video makes me wonder something...
What is it that we as the audience are truly seeking for?
Many of us have watched the development of this game. There isn't a single gaming channel that hasn't covered this game. This fundamentally interesting project that introduces something new and original.
But what is it that we are expecting? In a weird twist, we are uniformly binding together our thoughts and ideas. Projecting that this game may somehow answer the questions of life, universe, and everything.
But why now? Why now release a trailer about the narrative or the lore of No Man's Sky? While it is fascinating to hear about a few famous comic book artist collaborating with the game, it doesn't seem to answer any questions the fans have. Which further makes you wonder what the point of this video is. Why are there artist working on a narrative if you can just make your own narrative. Nothing can be everything and nothing. Yet at the same time it can be.
I offer the opinion of the cynic that this may be way to much of an ambitious project for the themes they are trying to uncover.
I offer the opinion of the believe that this may excel every possible expectation that any of us can ever possibly imagine.
I lean towards the side of hope. That truly even these trailers and mini documentaries offer engaging delicious interesting thoughts. That for the audience and viewers to engage in deep conversations and debates for us to digest, share, and reflect, has already accomplished so much.
Thanks for continued Hype. Here looking to the future
+BCguardians The developers have been very clear about this: the game is an exploration game with an spect of trading/grinding but the public is hyping it in ways not related to the game, many people avent realized that there are too little traditional gaming objectives and is mostly a passive adventure, this is more for people who like life simulators
+GinHindew110 not necessarily. it's not just a life simulator you can have space battles which is definitely more than normal life simulator. the public IS hyping it in ways related to the game. it's not really grinding either because you don't have to grind but you choose to
+GinHindew110 You are so out of date on the point of the game. Check out some new vids where Sean calls it a survival game and you probably will not be able to glide through it.
Shawnawesomeer *facepalm* this is exactly what im talking about, the gameplay footage never shows actual space battles based on gameplay as they would be in Starfox (whose review i was watching when your notification poped up, coincidence?), they are more like small passive encounters wich you can avoid easily and they lack control/gameplay to have actual dogfigts and at most they are like minigames to but you said there are space battles as if the footage actually showed something like that, that is hyping outside what the footage is showing
No Man´s Sky is more like a PC game because PC users like to play more introspective/passive/experimental games (there is where the graphic adventures flourished) or more for people who like repetitive quiet games like Harvest Moon, those who are expecting a shooter or space battles are hyping to the wrong three
GinHindew110 Do you know nothing about PC gamers or this game? Sean has said there will be warring factions that you can ally and in previous trailers it has shown pretty big battles.
The way it looks...We'll be playing this game forever...
Wait are the comic book stories gonna be colored?
poo
+GreenPigKing
+rodrigo maldonado POO COLORS
I'd assume black and white.
I GOT CHILLS WHILE I WAS WATCHING THIS
Why the hell can't IGN do some actual work instead of copying Playstation videos? This has nothing "first" about it, it's purely a copy of a video that Sony posted earlier today.
That comic booklet looks really neat. The only draw back is you get it when you preorder the Limited Edition on PS4. What about PC fans who would like to get it?
i wish pc would have the same Collector's eddition as the ps :( i would have bought it
Yeah, to be honest I feel a little left out, and all my Sci fi fan friends are going nuts over it.
I hope they release it as a standalone as well.
So they won't have the booklet for PC players? :(
PC has a better one with a metal die cast ship
+Doodlefart132 but I like reading bro
and it's so expensive
yeah.. i would take the booklet over the model ship any time
That music at the end gave me goosebumps :DDDDD
I preordered the game on steam, can I get the book still.
And if so, how?
+sjoerd laan same here
+sjoerd laan Get the Limited Edition.
I love the idea of lore and discovery. I see many many hours of mine getting lost in this world.
Uncharted 4 is the only game I want rn.
go back to playing generic games, kid. Why are you even here commenting on this video when you clearly want something else?
I love games that make you search for a story, rather than simply telling you everything. Sort of like Dark Souls; I think it's much more fun, for me personally. So pumped for this game! :D
+JoePoke It depends. Skyrim mixed a bit of the two, it told you a bit of the main story and the story of Nirn, but most of the world's story is hidden, and that mix was one of the things that gripped me so much with The Elder Scrolls and Fallout Franchises.
Some people will say it's boring and has no story or nothing to do.... For me though, I'm going to create my own backstory in my mind, and to why I'm on that planet, am I a pirate or a trader? What happened to my home planet? Who knows what my imagination will tell
Love Castle That's good too! Creating your own story, just like in Tabletop RPG's, reminds of good times...
Just...stop. It's too much. Too much awesome to handle!
Looks awesome, I love the art design. It has that cartoony-realistic look. Cant wait.
Aaah... How "western"... Other beings are already there, have structures... But I "discovered" it and get to name it
+Surgical Have a cry about it.
"How Western", it's called human nature buddy.
+Xpry If you say so. Have a cry about it.
+Rowan Cravey ....ok...? ...I guess.
this is a good comment
Thank you for staying on top of this game, IGN.
Sean is Jesus confirmed.
Sean is GOD
+Dystopia LOL
Sean is the daddy of god's father.
***** fallout 4?
+A bowl of Miso soup Fallout 4 was disappointing compared to previous Fallout games.
Thank you! Much better than the previous three videos.
+Biomechannibal That's because it wasn't made by IGN and actually had more than 2 minutes of content.
Why didn't y'all make a video about the stolen copies of Uncharted 4?
+sdeezzy23 Cuz it might be a marketing stunt.... Look at the name again :) A thiefs end... Maybe its just me.
Omg Sean is so humble and caring ^^
I hope to hell I can play this on Xbox one someday
+Gethin Topps well, dream on
Keep the hopes bro.
Master Blaster Well thanks for your positivity. I love buzzkillers like you.
Even if it is true
sorry for that, didn't wanted to bring the mood down, hope it gets to xbox one, the problem is that sony gave hellogames a small loan of thousands of dollars, so, guess it will take a while till it gets to xbox
I'm so happy there's going to be a booklet with the game. I miss those.
this could be the last game i ever play!
I will die playing it
The Maniac Gaming and not a moment before!!!
***** he could have a seizure
***** lolz
The OST sounds so gorgeous.
I just had a moment where I thought about how everyone started creating all these books for halo. Thinking about how each planet is it's own world with it a own history of people discovering planets and writing books about them, writing stories to explain the planets history that they have discovered. I can't wait to start reading books and even fan fiction about other people's planets and experiences with no man's sky!!!
turns out it's nothing like that
I absolutely cannot wait for this game! I have always loved space and open world games, this game is perfection to me, probably will be the last game I buy and only game I play forever
I hope Sean makes billions off of this. And some sort of Nobel prize for his skyscraper pushing right past the sky into the universe. Blows my mind, and I'm an old lady - nothing blows my mind anymore, until this.
It's a game after all. It's so sad to hear something like that.
Beard is getting there !! Keep up the good work.
This game looks Gorgeous............looks like ill be taking screenshots EVERYWHERE!!!!
+Smokes901 I had a dream the other night that I was consciously exploring a tropical planet in No Man's Sky! It was so exciting and believable! Virtual Reality will happen for this game no doubt I promise! #nomanssky
As awesome as the game itself is, the thing that completely blows me away is the sheer potential of procedural generation.
Yes
Sean Murray's beard grows longer and longer in every video from ign. It's like a vlog of Sean Murray's beard.
Story or not, I can already tell I will love this game.
