2:38 it pulled like it has 500 hp more 3:15 it pulled like it has 5 hp more !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ACC is invaluable for long distances. The Mazda 6 I rented that had it and lane keep was fantastic on the highway leaving me more energy to enjoy the B roads.
Agree about the ACC, Nick. I'm glad I saw your prior videos on the topic, and ended up selecting it in my C4S. Very nice feature on these brutal SF Bay Area freeways, when I drive the 911 to work.
I can never get used to any acc.. Love to fully control the vehicle. Love every second in driving. Drove from SF to LA/Vegas back and forth. I love to drive by myself and have more manual things to do on the road. It’s pretty personal.
I wanted to like this video 9 times! First you've almost convinced me to go for a used base 911 and later (once I've saved some money) get it tuned, and two - the Tui cocaine thing had me on the floor! I'm actually trying to decide between a 911, Cayman S, and believe it or not, an M3 comp pkg (love the Sakhir Orange 2), and I had an e92 335 I just loved.
I agree - makes it hard to decide. Test drove a Cayman S and it reminded me of the 944 S2 (with much more power) that I should have kept. After buying a new house (bricks before toys), and a new job - I think - the numbers will say what I get.
base model cayman is still super fun. I had the 981 base before my T and its really not that crazy different. both are lightweight and have awesome feel.
I agree 100% with the adaptive cruise control. I bought a Turbo S in Chicago and drove it back home to Vegas and it had ACC. My previous Turbo S did not have it, so I wasn’t sure exactly what the car was doing at first on my drive, then I figured it out and messed with it all the way home trying to trick it etc. It’s fair to say it made the drive at least 30% easier. It is also great in bumper to bumper traffic and makes it pretty much impossible to rear end someone. Our Dealership rarely orders it also which I also think is silly. Once you use it, it makes regular cruise control seem prehistoric.
Was given a loaner with ACC, absolutely hated it. Stupid car would “hit the anchors” without cause when going through our local mountain pass multi-lane twisties. Found I could not use the cruise control if trucks were traveling beside me.
The question that I’m wanting Nick to elaborate on a video is which to choose from the base Carrera and the Carrera S model . I don’t think it’s a no brainer answer based on the horsepower only.
Sathesh Kumar the S gets a lot of nice kit and if you plan to track the car the S is a better choice but the base is awesome and no one would feel short changed owning the base
Interesting bit about the ACC. I recently had a rental car, a Peugeot 108. I found a speed limiter function which was quite useful as a cruise control. Just gently floor it and keep it there and the car will stay at selected speed. The top speed I could select was 157mph (seriously). I'm wondering if Peugeot engineers had freefall speed in mind?
Hi Nick, Thank you for a great Video. May I ask you wish lens you use on your Canon 80d when you film yourself driving the cars. And the mount, or to be more precise, the aluminum frame around your camera, is that to avoid flipping the camera upside down?
I feel like I’m out of line for saying this because no one else has but the Carrera 4 models don’t have turbo chargers…. Right? Only the 911 Turbo, Turbo S, and GT2 RS have turbos?
Nick, I like your videos. I think on the second run you were rolling a bit faster when you started and it seems as if you applied in a manner that would be faster than most people's reaction speed. It looks like roughly 50 hp to me.
Nick, you might consider befriending a dyno-provider in your area. I'd love to see you test the "tuned" cars vs stock ones. The whole "3-2-1-GO!" "seat of the pants" stuff doesn't really show much except some people have slower reactions or a "faster" car. "Faster" isn't esp qualitative. (not a criticism, just a critique)
I don't think options like ACC should be offered with new cars. This is not self driving car. You still have to pay attention, analyze, react for what is happening on the road. But with devices like ACC and lane assist first thing most people do is to play with their phones to check instagram or facebook... I think actually that any device which allows the driver to not pay attention in NOT self driving car is something opposite to safety device. And really... Turning and maintaining constant, safe speed accurate for the conditions is actually essence of DRIVING a car. There are no easier elements to whole process. So maybe You should not be allowed to drive car if you need lane assist or radar to keep the same distance to car in front.
Tomasz Paluch I would disagree, the ACC has far superior reaction time to any human and it reduces the fatigue we all suffer on long journeys, you still need to watch the road but these Technology’s allow the driver to stay far more alert. Well that has certainly been my personal experience
Good video Nick but I think you left out one thing that showed up between the 2 dragraces; power delivery. If I'm not mistaken don't those cars have different turbos or geometry? I wonder if the Carrera is able to hit a high peak HP but doesn't deliver power under the curve in the same way as the CS does because of other engine factors like smaller turbos. Also I'd be interested to see how it drives on a back road since you claim the CS is almost too fast to enjoy spirited, yet the tuned carrera is it's own animal.
Nick, I think a dyno comparison would be very informative in your tests. It removes a lot of subjectivity and may even reveal some 'hidden' horsepower not claimed by the manufacturer. Timed 0-60, 0-100 and drag strip times too please. I know this is a lot more work for you but perhaps it might mean more views too? Would love to see "that is not correct" shirts in your shop too btw.
It would seem, that if a Carrera T was just a little underpowered, a tune might be in order. Does a quality tune always negate the factory warranty, or do tuners offer their own warranty? What can a person expect to pay for a quality tune? Thanks for an entertaining video.
Can't believe Porsche charges for ACC or MobileEye like features...Even a slightly higher trim Toyota includes adaptive cruise control. I wanted the ACC but the cost doesn't justify the sacrifice in looks and coins.
Fun video, as always. Even cheating, you still can't win a drag race...let William drive next time...With 100 more pound feet of torque, I would have thought the tuned car would be considerably quicker. But not knowing the torque curve, not always true.
My CX-5 has ACC and it is the best thing since sliced bread for commuting in traffic. The sooner this tech gets into the majority of cars on the road the better. Imagine how much better the traffic will flow when we don't have an abundance of morons tail gating and tapping their brakes all the time. Oh that's right, morons will be morons and not use the feature.
The acc is cool technology-wise and in terms of convenience, but that eye takes away from the looks of the car, unfortunately. The eye of mordor, hahaha!
First time I disliked one of your videos. You should've titled this "Porsche 911 ACC Review" I expected you to talk more about the tune, pricing, try rolling drags at 20/40/60mph speeds and even a drag from a complete stand still to compare. If I were you, I would redo this tune review video.
2:38 it pulled like it has 500 hp more
3:15 it pulled like it has 5 hp more
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Elie Nehme I was in the wrong gear first race. 🤪
I blame the guy shifting.
On a related topic Nick likes to pull
Nick jumped the second race horrendously
Nick Murray even with PDK Nick! 😎
ACC is invaluable for long distances. The Mazda 6 I rented that had it and lane keep was fantastic on the highway leaving me more energy to enjoy the B roads.
I love NIcks channel
Always so informative
It’s a chooned Carrera 4-Ees with a jewel clutch transmission!
SoulOfMyShyu jewel clutch, the new gold standard.
XD
Agree about the ACC, Nick. I'm glad I saw your prior videos on the topic, and ended up selecting it in my C4S. Very nice feature on these brutal SF Bay Area freeways, when I drive the 911 to work.
Mexican roads are getting better and better :)
Boris Artemyev yeah its almost as he can teleport to Mexico for his tests
I can never get used to any acc.. Love to fully control the vehicle. Love every second in driving. Drove from SF to LA/Vegas back and forth. I love to drive by myself and have more manual things to do on the road. It’s pretty personal.
"When it's a more even start like that..." says Nick after rolling past at the start with at least a 10km/h speed advantage. |-D
Nice video as always Nick. Can you do a review of the GT3 Touring? And a drive in a manual Carrera T too would be good!
he drove a T, few videos back
Rob Poitras yes I know, but it was PDK - so I suggested he do a separate video on a Carrera T with a manual gearbox :)
Looks like the base 911s are where it’s at these days!
With a tune, awesome!
Doesn't make much sense to get a base after you option it up.
Tuned Carrera T
Westy life goals right there. Soon!
Always a quality video, just ordered my BMW with that cruise option. Cheers Nick

can't go wrong with all of those car you suggested. get what makes you feel the best.
I agree - makes it hard to decide. Test drove a Cayman S and it reminded me of the 944 S2 (with much more power) that I should have kept. After buying a new house (bricks before toys), and a new job - I think - the numbers will say what I get.

Victor Howard m3 Dkg...
Nice video, I did Cobb tune on my Carrera T and absolutely love it it’s about 435hp now , just perfect
Is the fabspeed tune specs similar to the 911 with the GIAC tune? Maybe a drag between the two!
Nick I bought a used a Macan Turbo and never knew what the heck the ACC (little arrow thingys) were for. Now I know... Thanks very much mate.

Once you use it, it makes regular cruise control seem prehistoric.
Was hoping you would do this comparison. Just added a fabspeed ecu tune and ipd plenum to my 991.2 base carrera. The result is incredible!
Was given a loaner with ACC, absolutely hated it. Stupid car would “hit the anchors” without cause when going through our local mountain pass multi-lane twisties. Found I could not use the cruise control if trucks were traveling beside me.
Great Video Nick, with a wonderful explanation of ACC
enjoyable video as always, Nick!
The question that I’m wanting Nick to elaborate on a video is which to choose from the base Carrera and the Carrera S model .
I don’t think it’s a no brainer answer based on the horsepower only.
Sathesh Kumar I think he really prefers the base, from the other videos i’ve seen anyway
Sathesh Kumar the S gets a lot of nice kit and if you plan to track the car the S is a better choice but the base is awesome and no one would feel short changed owning the base
Thanks for the tip William, but I watched the hole thing anyway, you know how it is!
But does the tune void any Porsche warranty or any other liability
Interesting bit about the ACC. I recently had a rental car, a Peugeot 108. I found a speed limiter function which was quite useful as a cruise control. Just gently floor it and keep it there and the car will stay at selected speed. The top speed I could select was 157mph (seriously). I'm wondering if Peugeot engineers had freefall speed in mind?
so you have to deduce then that porche detunes the base engine vs uptunes
Nick fun as always. I know you have answered before, but what DSLR are you using and what are the suction mounts? Thank you so much.
I use Canon 80D on the outside and 6DII on the inside with 20mm f1.4 and Matthews BH-20 with suction.
Like the classic intro music...👍
It is possible that the tuned Carrera 4 really has 475hp. I think Porsche just under claimed their stock horse power.
Hi Nick, Thank you for a great Video. May I ask you wish lens you use on your Canon 80d when you film yourself driving the cars. And the mount, or to be more precise, the aluminum frame around your camera, is that to avoid flipping the camera upside down?
The camera facing me is a Canon 6D II with a 20mm f1.4 lens mounted in a SmallRig cage.
Thanks, Nick for sharing, guessing moving to full-frame was a great move.
That gt silver exteriour with silver wheels 👌😍
did you not drag race these two from a standing start???
Where you can get it tuned
I think the best thing to do is get a Carrera T and put a tune on it.
So the ACC frees up your right foot so you can scratch...ummm...your.....left calf?
I feel like I’m out of line for saying this because no one else has but the Carrera 4 models don’t have turbo chargers…. Right? Only the 911 Turbo, Turbo S, and GT2 RS have turbos?
Incorrect. The 991.2 and 992 Carrera's are all turbocharged. As of 2017, the only naturally aspirated 911's are the GT3 models.
Nick, I like your videos. I think on the second run you were rolling a bit faster when you started and it seems as if you applied in a manner that would be faster than most people's reaction speed. It looks like roughly 50 hp to me.
Nick will you buy the 992 when it comes out?
Nick, you might consider befriending a dyno-provider in your area. I'd love to see you test the "tuned" cars vs stock ones. The whole "3-2-1-GO!" "seat of the pants" stuff doesn't really show much except some people have slower reactions or a "faster" car. "Faster" isn't esp qualitative. (not a criticism, just a critique)
So what’s going on here? Is Porsche giving lower hp numbers on the S than it actually is or is that tune only like 50hp not 100?
This Kiwi is always driving like a hooligan
I don't think options like ACC should be offered with new cars. This is not self driving car. You still have to pay attention, analyze, react for what is happening on the road. Hi Nick ... i have a question about how you got the positive hire to power the radar detector over mirror mount ? TIA
No acc on a manual Porsche?! My 2013 manual vw golf has acc as standard. Hey should look for the thec on the vw shelve 😉
think you might be doing another get together again?
How do you always find an empty road for your drag races?
Thanks nick
Hey Nick, does the tuning make the engine sound more louder or no change at all?
No change in sound
Did he also upgrade his non S braking system after tuning his car?
"Say hello to my little friend". Tui, too funny!!!
Good video Nick but I think you left out one thing that showed up between the 2 dragraces; power delivery. If I'm not mistaken don't those cars have different turbos or geometry? There is no difference between the 911.2 base and s models as it pertains to build. Same turbo same engine. However the s does have a tune to 400+.
Hey Nick can you send me info on the ECU Tune ..you got me thinking about it for my GTS.
Hi, Nick, I have a 2019 Targa 4 can you tell me the tune on this video and where I can buy it thanks, Robert
How do I find links page with a droid phone
Nick, I think a dyno comparison would be very informative in your tests. It removes a lot of subjectivity and may even reveal some 'hidden' horsepower not claimed by the manufacturer. Timed 0-60, 0-100 and drag strip times too please.

That ACC would freak me out while getting used to it...
It freaks me out just watching it. And I have 2 Porsches.
Yeah. Took me about a few weeks to not be on edge while using it.
"Annoyed how this car tells me when I do over 90" LOL, you're going to end up in court Nick.
yo nick try doing standing quarter miles and see which one is faster
Did you note the fuel usage on the tune?
Fuel use is a little better with the tune
Where did you end up getting your.car?
What tune was it? Sorry if I missed that.
It annoys me that ACC is standard in a new Golf yet porsche feel the need to charge you extra for it. Doesn't make a lot of sense.
Pretty sure when you raced the gts with your car it didn't pull on you like this.
can the engine handle the tune? Only time will tell
GT Silver is my new favourite colour.
Super video geek stuff- can you stop your lenses down? The thin depth of field is distracting. Unless that's on purpose to obscure the roads 😁
It would seem, that if a Carrera T was just a little underpowered, a tune might be in order. Does a quality tune always negate the factory warranty, or do tuners offer their own warranty? What can a person expect to pay for a quality tune? Thanks for an entertaining video.
2k for the tune
how much is the tune?
Nick! Love all your videos! Awesome work! But please, do not wash your beautiful Porsche with that Brush! Always use microfiber cloth or sponge 🤘🏼
Meh, the brush fine Danek, no damage.
How much does the tune cost? What is the price difference between a tuned carrera and a basic GTS?
Tune costs about $2,000
I’ve finally convinced my girlfriend to get a Tui of our own by showing her Tui 😁
Man we love Tui! ♥️
When are you ordering the new 992 2019 Model?
The standard Carrera can be tuned to 540 bhp no problem without any hardware.
Nice! What was the cost of that tune? Any warranty issues?
Just got off Fabspeeds site - the 991.2 ECU tune is $1895 + install www.fabspeed.com/2017-porsche-991-2-carrera-fabspeed-ecu-tune/
Engine and drivetrain Warranty is history once tuned
With an ECU tune, just flash it back to stock. Use the tuned map when you want.
Hey nick. What’s the model # of your sun glasses pls? Love them !
They are RB 3404 however they are pretty much impossible to find as they stopped making them 10 years ago.
thanks Mate, appreciate it!
Remember that it’s tuned by “crabspeed” , which is not good!
A real tune should be COBB , and the results are very different!
That Fabspeed tune is questionable
You know what also has ACC? My Skoda Octavia RS and pretty much every car worth a tenth of this.
The Eye of Mordor! 😆 ...OOPS! Just found out it is the Eye of Sauron. Priceless joke nonetheless.
Do the C4 & C4S have wider bodies than the C2 on the 99.1?
Vincent T. Yes
40 or 44mm wider if I remember right
gt3 touring please!
May be if Nick was driving the tuned 911 he would have lost the drag race 😁
ACC looks like a useful option. You didn't mention the price of the tune. Thanks as always.
Jerome Langenderfer 2k
Nick Murray thanks again
Is there any noticeable lag with the tune compared to the stock base engine?
The Annoying Tourist why would it increase the lag? Tune doesn't give u a bigger turbo, just more pressure.
No increase in lag
"We're going to do a little drag race"
*Literally never does a single drag race
Eccentric as usual....;-)
The only thing you are missing is auto steer and auto fun.
Can't believe Porsche charges for ACC or MobileEye like features...Even a slightly higher trim Toyota includes adaptive cruise control. I wanted the ACC but the cost doesn't justify the sacrifice in looks and coins.
ZDY VW don't charge for exact same tech on Golfs, where it first featured. Go figure.
The automatic just seems so un-inspiring...
Nick was in the wrong gear on the first race.. second race was probably more reflective of reality.
Flight6LBJ correct
@@NickMurray but Nick cheated horribly on the second race, jumped first and was already 10 mph faster when he said "go"
Nick give away your Porche like “TheStradman”!!!
I meant to say Porsche sorry

I would NEVER get ACC
Well THAT'S good to KNOW
I'd never be without it
Fabspeed tune is trash. Cobb is the only way to go.
Tuning a Porsche is trash. Unless your name is Manthey.
Change the music pleaseee. It is soooo boringggg
Meh, the music is sweet.
@@NickMurray yess but you use it for 1000000000 times
