This standing pilates workout is a glutes and leg burner that will sculpt and tone your lower body! We’ll take the same principles that we use in pilates mat work and apply them here in this standing routine. Core stability, balance and control will be key to effectively engage the glutes and legs here. After activating those muscles, we’ll move through a variety of squats and lunges that will leave your lower body feeling thoroughly worked!
This workout was filmed at Earthshine Lodge (earthshinenc.com) in Lake Toxaway, NC. This absolutely gorgeous property is set with amazing views of the mountains of NC in a peaceful and cozy setting. It is worth checking out if you are in the area!
This pilates standing workout is part of a Pilates Sculpt & Tone 30-Day series, but you do not need to do the series to complete this workout. It’s perfect as a standalone standing pilates routine as well, and is great for all levels!

would it be better to skip this entire video if SI joint dysfunction is an issue?
There’s a lot of single leg work in this one, which can lead to pelvic instability, so it would probably be best to avoid it. Always be sure to check with your PT or doctor for appropriate exercises, and which to avoid. It’s wonderful that you’re looking out for what’s best for you!
