      Saltine crackers is a creative touch Vesper. Reminds me of an Atlantic Beach pie (aka North Carolina lemon pie) that uses saltine crackers for the crust. Give the pretzels a try and let me know what you think. I can't stop eating them if they're in the house.

    I made Christmas crack today! It’s the same recipe only it uses saltine crackers as the base. But I have to say, I’m really liking the idea of using pretzels instead though I guess when you think about it pretzels and crackers have a very similar makeup. But I’m going to try it your way.

      I’ve never made the version with saltine crackers but have heard about it. Is that a regional recipe? I’m sure it’s delicious. Give the pretzels a try and let me know what you think. It’s hard to go wrong with chocolate and caramel.

      Jill, I think it will ship just fine as long as it’s wrapped tightly and doesn’t bang around on its way. If I don’t eat it all first, this lasts several days in our house no problem.

    🤔 I have been seeing quite a few recipes of something similar…using saltine crackers, Ritz crackers etc…it’s all along the same line…but I just been thinking…if using the pretzels, wouldn’t it be easier to dump them into the mixture, stir really well to coat them, then pour out onto the foil (or parchment paper if using that) spread and then bake?

    • @theworldsfood
      @theworldsfood  Год назад +1

      FernCurtis, that might work but I’m not sure it would make it any easier. You’d have to start with a large pot for the brown sugar/butter mixture and then risk breaking the pretzels while stirring them in. It will still be delicious though, and I’m always happy to be proven wrong if it improves the recipe. Give it a shot and let me know what happens! Thanks for the feedback.

      Jennifer Gray, I lay out the pretzels on the foil at the very beginning so they’re ready to go when the caramel mixture is ready. That way there’s no delay.
