INGREDIENTS
- 24 oz bittersweet chocolate
- 24 oz white chocolate
- 1 cup crushed peppermint
- 3/4 tsp peppermint extract
INSTRUCTIONS
- Place peppermint candy in a large plastic bag and crush into small pieces with a meat pounder. Set aside.
- Line a 9x13 baking sheet with parchment paper and set it aside.
- Heat 4 cups of water in a 4-quart saucepan over medium-low heat. Set a large glass bowl on the saucepan so the bottom does not touch the barely simmering water. Add the bittersweet chocolate to the glass bowl. Stir and slowly allow the chocolate to melt. Once all of the chocolate is melted and smooth, pour onto the prepared baking sheet. Smooth to an even layer and sprinkle with ¼ cup of crushed peppermint candy.
- Wash and dry the bowl and set over the barely simmering water. Add the white chocolate. Stir until the chocolate is smooth, then remove from the heat. Add the peppermint extract, stir, and pour over the bittersweet chocolate. Smooth to an even layer and top with remaining peppermint candy pieces.
- Allow to cool at room temperature until hardened, 2-3 hours. Once the bark is hard, cut or break into pieces. Store in an airtight container for up to two weeks.

U should try using peppermint puff candy, crushed. Then the pieces of candy don't get stuck in your teeth and melts in your mouth.
Mm Yep never would of thought Might Even Taste a bit better & for sure Softer
My friend used..hmm..it was some kind of peppermint flavored chocolate chips that were red and green. Whatever they were they were kinda crunchy but nowhere near candy canes. I like your puff peppermint idea! Thanks!
Never said how much chocolate
I'm doing it tonight with the kids. Wish me luck
OH my, After reading your comment that’s exactly what I did and I liked it so much better!Plus, I just happened to have that on hand! Thanks for the suggestion!
I love peppermint bark and I don't like white chocolate lol. I would love the extra layer of peppermint in the chocolate.
My neighbors love your/my pepper bark! Thanks for the recipe and tips! I heated my knife by dipping in hot water, drying it then cut then. I only had a few pieces that separated.
I’m allergic to dark chocolate, it gives me migraines, so I make this with only white. But I love your idea of extra thick and I’m definitely trying this!
Thank you so much, I enjoyed your video and tips. Some people have commented that you did not give amounts of chocolate. I use equal amounts of white chocolate and either dark or semi sweet chocolate or a mixture of both. But you can mix it up if you like the dark chocolate better than white chocolate or vice versa. Normally I use about 16 ounces of chocolate total for each batch. I do add just about 1/4 tsp of coconut oil to about 8 ounces of chocolate while I am melting it.
I love watching all of your videos (clumsiness included 🥰). Thank you Kaleb. You’re a delight!
It is very good with semi sweet chocolate as well if you can eat that.
Mmmmmmmmm peppermint bark. My favorite holiday treat😋😋😋😋😋
Love that you use your grandmother’s serving piece to display your candy🤩
What brand chocolate are you using? I noticed there wasn’t any tempering involved. Is that not necessary? Love your videos. Thanks for sharing.

That looks so good! I bought some already made peppermint bark and the dark chocolate and white chocolate w as nice bit it hardly has much peppermint in it. It was disappointing.

Thank you so much for this great video! I tried to make this but I think I left the chocolate layer in the fridge too long because the white chocolate hardened really quickly to the extent that the crushed peppermint wouldn't adhere to the top of it. I put the pan in the oven to try to soften the chocolate and it helped a little. Is there a maximum time that the chocolate layer should cool in the fridge before adding the crushed peppermint and the white chocolate layer? Is it best to not put it in the fridge to cool. Thank you so much for any advice!
I pretty much had this same problem.
Are you using Giradelli chocolate?
That's what I'm going to use!!
Curious if you tempered the chocolate first
Are you a Virgo Kaleb- so nice and organized! Cancer rules home and family and food, but Virgo rules providing for others, being of service and healthy food, so you may have both strong in your natal chart!
this was great to watch on mushrooms
Where is your brand or supplier for top quality chocolates

Whats the difference between using semi-sweet chocolate and milk chocolate? Is there a taste difference? Do people typically not use dark chocolate for this recipe? Why do all the recipes I see for this add the extract to the white chocolate?
I made this today and having trouble with the layers separating when I cut/break into pieces. I followed the “tip” but that’s not helping. My bark is cold, I chilled in the refrigerator. Any suggestions to make the layers not separate?
Hi Debbie!! Separation can be tricky! Having the bark cold from the fridge may be too cold and cause separation. Allowing it closer to room temp could help. Also using a warm knife can help by slicing through quicker and easier!
Who is Grandma Conrad...Alice?
This is my dilemma. I made the peppermint bark early this morning. It seemed like it was turning out perfectly. My milk chocolate separated from the white chocolate when I went to break it, and the peppermint pieces came off, what could’ve gone wrong? I did not put the peppermint between the layers.
