I agree with you, Hope. I gave up on mascara about 50 years ago as my skin was mega oily and seems like within minutes it was under my eyes. Now that I'm a zillion years old, I did try a tubing mascara, and no smudging. I rarely leave the house though so ? It came about 50 years too late for me but if I need it occasionally, I have it now.

The quality of make up now is practically stage make up and or drag make up. It is as shocking to look at up close because it's meant to be seen on camera. Young girls straight out the gate are using stage and drag techniques including fillers, shots and surgery on barely developed features. Imho when this phase blows over in our culture we will be left with some very interesting faces to look at as they age. Interesting times.

The company is called Nulastin and they sell products to help grow eyelashes, brows and hair.
Their products are only available online and are somewhat pricey so I wait until they go on sale. But, since using their products the results have totally exceeded my expectations. At first I used the serum at least once or every other day. Now I only need to apply it once a week or even longer (when I forget) and it maintains the growth.

The Bobbi brown sticks are wonderful you can use a little or a lot and build on the color.. they're creamy and I use them...I'm 43 my sister does whose 46 and even mom whose 78 so give them a try put them directly on the lid and just blend with your fingers or a brush but easy and crease minimally even cream blush is good too the cream products seem to be more forgiving and add moisture which we need most of us as we age

Mascara and blush. These two items instantly improve your appearance. Use a blush that complements your coloring. Cooler color should use a plum or berry color, warmer can use a coral or rust tone. Mature skin does best with a cream blush. I like to place a small amount of blush under my eyes, at the very top of my cheek. This gives a very natural flush, like you’ve been exercising.

Blush is ALWAYS a good idea. It’s the quickest and easiest way to add colour and youth and glow back into the skin. Blush makes the biggest impact to the face; without it, your makeup will look incomplete, no matter how much or how little else makeup you have on. Blush should ALWAYS be included in everyone’s makeup routine each and every time they wear makeup ☺️

As a guy, who grew up with beautiful sisters and a beautiful mom, in my opinion makeup should be applied so it doesn't look like you are wearing makeup. It should accentuate your own beauty, and yes if needed cover some minor flaws. Although I did see a great video on a make up artist who helped people who had a lot of issues - like scarring and disfiguration, and with her help, the people looked so much better with make up to hide what had happened to their faces. So make up can work miracles, but I think mostly it's a case of less is more.

I can no longer stand black liner, it just doesn’t look good on me. My eyebrow game became extremely natural, although I never did them harsh and dark before either. Absolutely cannot stand any metallic lipsticks (never did, but now especially). So these notes are a must not only for women 40 and older, but for us women crossing the line of 30s.

You can never go wrong with some suncreen as your base and a beautiful mineral powder by bareMinerals. It’s about $50 in Australia but I’m not quite sure how much is overseas in Sephora. It comes in original which is a nice dewy finish or it comes in a matte version. I feel that mature women look way better with a dewy finish but it’s up to you. I feel it’s very important to have that base layer underneath and it will last you all day all night so make sure that your sunscreen is not mattifying and at night otherwise use a dewy moisturizer. It works better than primer and the second that you put your base on whether that be sunscreen or moisturizer get ready to buff the foundation on and it will use the moisture in your face product to make it stick to all skin types for hours. Following this method will have the foundation last you like 6-12 months and have you glowing because you can never overdo it - it’s foolproof

However, having watched a lot of these tutorials on various channels and trying to find a remedy to stop the creasing, the heavy concealer and eye makeup a) takes way too much effort and b) I look old. OMG, I agree on everything especially on the frosted/metallic lipsticks! The same applies to nail polish. I’ve been collecting nail polish for years and realized a few years ago that my metallic/glitter nail polish makes my hands look older, so now I only use creams and sheer on my hands and my metallics on my toes. Thanks for another amazing video. Much love from Texas USA! 🤠

This was a genuinely enjoyable and helpful video to watch. It's like you're standing next to me talking to me. That down-to-earth comfortable feeling is very very rare when it comes to RUclips. I never want to look like I'm made up, so this advice was excellent and to the point. I'm now a fan. Thank you! ❤

I’m now 28 and have realized a lot of these tips on myself. How I did makeup in college makes me look way older than I am. But I also learned some good new tips like bronzer on the brow bone. Thank you!!

I LOVE BROWN EYELINER! Even brown mascara, but I wish they made more deep brown colors. Often times the brown shade is too light, but blue black colors don't look good on me either.

Yes absolutely, the browns are too obviously brown so on the light side

My favorite liner is in the taupe shade from Sephora's own collection, the shade is in number 15, called Flirting Game. It's the perfect taupe, not too light or too dark. I'm 51 and I've been using it for the past 3-4 years.

This has been the most helpful video and set of advices I’ve ever seen! I’m almost 60 and have the blessing of a good set of genes which help me not to look my age, but I’ve noticed there are certain makeup habits that were making me look like tired. Thank you!

This was probably the most helpful video I have ever seen. It was so so amazing. Thank you Andrea for making this. I am 53 and am going to try not to contour and do the cream bronze trick. So helpful to know that every single make up tip is not for every single person. I would love to k is your tips for eye shadow as many others have commented. ♥️😘

Thank you for showing what works in REAL life! I'm not a selfie person, so I don't pay too much attention to how my make up works in photos, but there are a lot of tips (especially with concealer) that look too heavy in person.

I first saw this video about 8-9 months ago, and I have to say… after putting these changes in action, when I DO wear makeup, I feel so much more confident because the difference is astonishing! Thank you sooooo much for this! Now I’m just trying to combat the rosacea I’ve developed (THANKS, aging and rare autoimmune disease… love never needing blush…) but I’m so happy with the changes I see by following these guidelines ❤

I ended up with a black eyeliner by mistake.... so I used it. My husband looked at me and immediately said that my makeup looked a bit harsh. Of course he was kind about it (he never even notices 99% of the time.) So you are absolutely correct about using brown eyeliner and mascara!! Also, I have stopped using bronzer on my cheek area as well, only on my forehead because I have a large one and it needs some color! Thank you for these suggestions, they are very helpful!!🥰
