  • Hi everybody,
Here it is, part two of common makeup mistakes!
Grab your coffee, wine, snacks, whatever because it’s gonna be a long one !
Please don’t take this video personal! I’ll bite your nose if you do !
Makeup is fun, but it’s expensive! So why not invest in products that actually matches with our skin tone?
We’re not all makeup artists and I know that, but I hope my video will help you just see a few color mistakes that we all do at some point.
Have fun watching this ! It’s just makeup, ok? You wipe it off and it’s gone! like magic !
Thank you so much for watching and I’ll see you soon !

Natasha Kuzmanovic even beauty youtubers will go back and make videos like these and poking fun at themselves for doing the NO NO side before. They also point out the make up they do is strictly for filming (not what they wear on a daily basis) with the theory that the lights and camera drowns out color, so they have to apply really heavy. I would love to see what they look like in real life after their filming days. I can’t imagine it looking very youthful or nice, lol.

    • @simulacrum.ad.nauseam
      @simulacrum.ad.nauseam 5 лет назад +8

Oh, so that is why so many of my clients asking me persistently to do their makeup as RUclipsrs and Instagramers do?! And then I have an hour and a half to do the explanation you have written, along with makeup and face the consequences of following: a) they accept my explanation but they are not satisfied their makeup is not visible from outer space; b) they do not accept my explanation and end up looking like they want but then I have to pray to the universe they did not mention to anyone I did their makeup; c) same as previous but I am praying to the universe they will not bash me for "staying power" of mentioned makeup. So, even though some of the influencers are controlling damage already made by explaining everything, the audience's perspective is already changed (for good). Same influencers that are still working with clients doing service the youtube way. And in the final instance, that explanation is not doing much when they are continuing with tutorials "for a camera and studio lighting only" when they are clearly presenting it as "everyday, bridal, date night, party, what not" makeup. People I see on the streets never looked so confused with their own image. And I'll say again, there is makeup and there is ridiculous masking. Where makeup is less common. But I do accept this is not youtubers' fault only - audience have sanity, they made the choice.

@@simulacrum.ad.nauseam I totally agree with you actually there are some "makeup artists" that do your make up as a YT and leave their clients looking even older than they actually are I believe that a real makeup artist is the one than takes your attributes and emphasis it to make you look even more pretty not some one that makes you look like a you left a doll house because is the same make up one and over in all of her clients ugh 🙄

Natasha Kuzmanovic I have completely opposite problem... whenever I go to beauty artist and ask for natural makeup, just to make my skin look beautiful and glow and just to accentuate my features they do to me the insta makeup. Falsies, heavy contouring, dry, matt lips, smokey eyes. And when I ask, wtf, they explain- but the lips are natural color (pink is natural for brunette, yeah) and the eyeshadow is light (medium brown is “light”). I do my makeup myself. My best friend did her own makeup for wedding, because her makeup artist changed her into drag queen....

Your videos are so refreshing and I personally love your dry humour, I find that you're easy to watch and I finally have a better understanding of how to approach my own makeup and the confidence to try again.
Gotta say I actually lost it when you talked up that amazing brush so hard that you were like you know what I'm actually done with you!!

I did not expect anyone to take it so personal because the first video was absolutely helpful to me and I thought it would also guide so many others to the right way. My mom shared it with me and My sister, and that video made me follow you on ig. And beyond the expectation I had based on the first video, this one blew my mind. I found no interest in any of the makeup tutorials I had watched and now I found THE ONE for me. Learning the way to apply what is right for me and how, I am actually excited to continue playing the make up game in proper way. I hope ppl would just get the point and not get hurt. I didn't know you received so much backlash from the previous tutorial because in my case you've helped me more than the others. I was applying my makeup like on the wrong side all the time and then after I watched your video... and I practiced and I received good feedback from my friends that my makeup is now better. Now what I learned is the undertone. Some beauty sellers in my mall do not really say about that. Thank you Ali.

Thank you! My make up application skills have improved since tuning into your channel. I love your sense of humor! Even though I should know better than most all of these things already, you can never practice enough. It is so easy to get stuck in a habit or a rut with make up. It is the smallest detail that can make or break a good application. I do not feel 100% comfortable knowing which tones to use, and unfortunately the sales assistants at some very popular cosmetics stores do not always know what color or tone you need. I can't tell you how many times I have been suggested the wrong color foundation or product. I think it is important to mention lighting, if you buy products at the store, go outside and check what the products look like in the natural light. Thank you so much for your videos.

Hands down one of the best makeup videos ever!! I giggled so much! But seriously, these are the makeup tips/techniques we’ve learned, they are printed on the backs of (drugstore) makeup for goodness sake. Your simple corrections are truly a revelation! And I consider myself a person with a very keen eye and hand for makeup-I’m a portrait artist for crying out loud! But I’ll admit, I have been making some of the very same tragic mistakes here. I’m mean the “bad” side (LOL) really looked cheap and heavy handed-and it is what a lot of us are doing. The color and shimmer actually make that side of your face sag. It was an Incredibly good example and the corrections were spot on in my opinion. Well done! Applying these corrections immediately.

Rene not to slam on any beauty influencers, but ya see a lot of mismatching where they’ll be straight up orange or paper white. Nikkie T to this day still wears a white foundation, making her look like a corpse...One of the most watched youtubers, even covering her lips with a white base. You then see make up artists do her make up and give her the slightest bit of color and she looks alive, fresh and younger. Even for us porcelain skin tone ladies, we can get the undertone wrong😂

You're one of the most adorable makeup artists in RUclips. What I most admire in you it's you're honest and humble, 2 traits of character so rare these days.
This video was so enlightening. Totally agree with those nude corpse colours! I hate them, I have the same olive undertone you have, perhaps a bit lighter, and what I found the most difficult is to find the right base tone for me. As I use a 50 sun block all year in my face, neck and V line, my shoulders are much more dark than my chest. It's the only thing we don't agree about. A warm base tone is artificial and makes me older. But it's only my opinion.
Great tips with the bronzer. I have a big face, big forehead, a good bone structure.I find difficult to place the blush too. And that translucent setting powder... it dries my undereye area so badly!
Could you do a tutorial about low coverage bases ( and all your great tips😉)for normal to dry skin with some fine wrinkles?
Thank you again for being you!
    Um grande beijo de Portugal!
