We live in a 140 year log house, and always looking for ideas to update. I love what you did to update your kitchen. In the next couple of years I would love to open up the upstairs again, and put an addition on, maybe put some garden doors off the living room, maybe a sunroom so all my plants can go out there. I have so many ideas.

I love it. It turned out beautiful. I love using old things that have memories or meaning. We live in west central Iowa in a house that use to be on a farm place west of town. They brought it into town in the '50's. We've spent years updating here and there.
I am a newbie! Of course, I am 78, but that doesn't mean I don't love change! And, your entire downstairs is gorgeous! The brass fixtures really define "you"......I just love the BREAD container....is it listed in your "where to find stuff" list? I have not looked at it yet. I have a small BUTTER dish, that is made of enamel, like your BREAD container. I have looked at so many of your videos.....and, I feel like I want to start my CHristmas baking, and its only mid June! I now rent a place, so cannot make any inside changes, nor can I have a garden, but I am still praying! (I do can, things that I get from the gardens that my friends have.) Absolutely gorgeous! A little over a year ago we moved back to our hometown & bought a 100 year craftsman home. It been a lot of maintenance, love, sweat, & curse words. Your links for things is amazing. I desperately need rotting window sills fixed but I dont want modern looking windows. I almost screamed when you showed the windows and made my husband watch the video! Again, amazing job! I too LOVE old!

Wow. That is my dream kitchen. It reminds me of my grandmothers kitchen in England. It was a little country house in a village called Bricketwood. The kitchen opened onto my grandfathers prized rose garden. I miss my grandparents, their cottage and England. I live in Canada now. But your kitchen is perfection and like you I’m an antique collector.
My kitchen is almost exactly like your old kitchen including backsplash, white cabinets, and placement of appliances. Our kitchen's side-by-side are unbelievably similar! And now I want that again, LOL. Your space is amazing! Down to the details of the inset door knobs, just wow!
