Hi everyone! In this video I try to answer a question that I receive many times, which guitar do I prefer or which instrument is the "best" between my Ernie Ball Music Man JPX 7 or Artisan Majesty Marrone 7.
We will hear some Clean, Rythm and Lead sounds, played with different approaches and styles to underline the qualities and possible difference of each instrument.

As a guy that has been an Ibanez fanboy and at one point owned four different RG's, I've gotta say the Majesty is still a better playing guitar than any of those (I've owned a J. Custom, Prestige, original 550DX, and 770DX). I still have a special place in my heart for Ibanez, but the comfort of the Majesty (I have the Majesty Artisan Marrone 6) can't be matched, not even by anything Ibanez has (yet). That upper fret access is absolutely insane on the Majesty. Great comparison video, keep up the great work!

I'd get the Majesty. Better upper fret access, more ergonomic body shape. Overall just looks better and nicer to play.

Both guitar looks great & sounds amazing. From my point of view Artisan has warm sound where as JPX 7 has that bite and grit. But I liked the sound of both guitars. And that clean n distortion tone sounds amazing, great video man. Keep on rocking.

Very very nice, the JP15 really gets my attention, that roasted flame maple! And a Majesty 6 would be very cool as well! Eheh! :D
Well done as always and great playing. I liked the artisan tones better for my taste. The heavy tones seemed more aggressive and the clean tones perhaps a little more compressed but warmer. I have the 6 string version on order now and really looking forward to it. I was really surprised to hear you say that the artisan was lighter than the JP which has been weight received but pleased all the same to know. Great show.

The Majesty sounds more warm and has a more acoustic sound than the JP to me.
I have the JP6 and the harmonic action available is awesome. Outstanding craftsmanship from the Ernie ball team.

So, the JPX neck feels thinner, or the majesty neck feels thinner? I know the JPX has the 20” radius, which I thought would make it easier to play, but maybe I’m wrong.

The JPX has a 15" radius. The JP11 and 12 are the ones with a 20" radius and it's extremely flat and it's even more noticeable on a 7 string. But 15" is already very flat and excellent for shreding.
I like sound of Artisan Majesty 7. Less fizzing and more brilliant and warm. Artisan makes me feel the sound of Jason Becker but more improved sound than maple finger board and maintain warm and full mid. Very nice. I will purchase this one. Thanks so much Mirko

A Majesty, 6 strings model, would make you feel like you have a magic stick in your hands and you will immediately start to play better! :)
wow some beautiful tones throughout the entire video. I think I prefer the JPX tonally and I also prefer the shape of the neck and body; however, I think the Majesty looks nicer aesthetically.

How is the JPX with rhythm ? I hear its muddy but my ears aren't very good when listening to youtube

cant afford either, but id go with the majesty, it has a much warmer sound, not to mention how much easier it is to play on while also looking better imo
Ciao Mirko! complimenti per il video, molto ben fatto e confronto strutturato perfettamente. Per le chitarre concordo sul fatto che nessuna è migliore dell'altra, hanno semplicemente un sound diverso...sicuramente risulta più brillante la JPX rispetto alla majesty che ha come legno principale il mogano africano se non erro, dunque un tono più incentrato sulle basse frequenze. Anche io adoro entrambi i modelli ma della majesty sono troppo innamorato, ha un look decisamente troppo figo. In bocca al lupo per tutto e di nuovo complimenti ;)

for the clean magnetic pickups sound i like the JPx Better, for some of the other clean parts majesty has a little more bright, for Rythms they change a little depending on what you play, but obviusly you can feel that Illuminator pickups have more saturation and harmonic texture on high end, now in some parts i heard JPX had more resonance on the low end, after all JPX has a chambered body, but i like both
Good video. Sound considerations aside, I found the Majesty a much better transition to 7 string from 6 string for playability.

Good comparison.
JPX 7 sounded brighter to me while Artisan had more base end.
One point though. Artisan is a part of Majesty line and they are all neck through.

Personally I prefer JPX to the Majesty, especially on clean passages. It's more defined in the treble range.

I think that’s partly due to the piezo pickup being used on the majesty. Which I believe the JP doesn’t have

Good comparison! Imo the Majesty wins on almost every level. Much fuller tone with harmonics in the right places and a full low end.

You might already know this Mirko, but for the piece you played at 4:27 I would recommend using a compressor so the notes pop out more, you're better at guitar playing than I am and I mean no disrespect. I like your content, you earned a sub.

I had a couple JPX and I don't like the five position switch, the three position works better for me. The majesty sounds warmer. Love both

The Majesty plays much nicer to me, I have played both, and I didn't like the JP15, I played each one for awhile, for me, the Majesty is effortless in jamming and overall sounds great and tone and visual wow factor. I will get a Majesty one day....
The JPX 7 sounded way more defined in my opinion,but at times too treble-y for my taste.
Probably an Artisan with the old JP 7 pickups would be the perfect in-between solution.

Which IMO makes it the best.
I think differences of body finsh make differences of sound.
