No Dislikes.....THAT MY FRIENDS IS CALLED RESPECT!!!! That being said, I just bought a MMJP6 (no Piezo) and it is amazing no more Ibanez prestige for me!!
the basswood is a little harsher and sharper. the 12 sounds just like my sterling jp50 (basswood, with CL and LF) and completely different fro my JPXI which is almost a little too mellow at times when strings get old. both awesome, pick the wood ya want. if only they offered the berolo finish on the JPXI body with gold hardware!
I got my hands on one - FINALLY ... and I have to say , it plays slicker than my Ibanez Jem , it's more meat and potatoes than my Washburn Nuno 2 and it sounds BETTER than my Les Paul ... fucking awesome guitar.
If i'm correct, basswood gives more clarity to the tone.I don't know that's neseccary for JP series.Regardless an awesome guitar,i had a chance to play one a bit, neck's extremely compy....
I agree on your point about people who buy other peoples signature guitars, it feels odd. But on the other hand if they're not endorsed by any guitar company, and a signature guitar has some great settings which they desire, is it wrong to buy the guitar?
i miss the old days of his origional music man from scenes and six degrees with the rosewood fretboard. (even though the huge scoop in the front wasn't that pretty)
dude i agree with you. But this guitar will make me really happy. This guitar has the packet of things that i want on my guitar. If could make a custom, i've done this but it cost about twice of the price of this guitar.
being good or bad, is a subjective fact, it's depends what you like, don't believe that you are absolute. It's just a instrument, you can be awesome, with or without it, it's just depends of you man, not the guitar. That's my point.
that's weird, i played the jp11 and the neck didn't feel all that flat o.O ah well i loved the guitar. i play an ltd mh100qm and it felt a lot like the jp11
You're lucky, we Europeans would need 4800$. Music Man is ridiculously high priced here. Take the JPXI-7 or JP12-7 for instance compared to a standard Les Paul. In the US the Les Paul is 400$ more expensive than the EBMM's. In Norway (it's similar all over Europe I believe) the EBMM's are suddenly 2090$ more expensive than the Gibson's! Pretty insane, huh?
Look guys okay basswood if you want a guitar custom made from the best custom shop then go to zivory custom guitars the man behind the magic tested out 290 tone woods in order to have the best wood selection for his customers and now only 50 out of 290 remain because the 50 woods he chose are the ones that really give the player a fuller tone that sings out so if you want to check out my teachers company go to zivory custom guitars wanna hear his customer play his own custom guitar youtube george marios best guitarist i have ever heard in my opinion
Basswood is great for this style since it is very flat and even. Alder bolt on guitars smear under high gain and the low end on mahogany is too compressed. If you compare the Suhr modern (basswood) to Guthrie Govan's old sig (mahog) there is no contest that the modern just sounds more versatile and can cover every base. The mahogany sounds too tight and bright to my ears. The downside is sometimes basswood sounds cardboard-y to me especially on the in between pickup positions. I like most tonewoods but for different things.
My god you people at US are lucky bastards... JP-models in europe mostly run for about 2500-3000+ euros, thats about 3000-3700$... damn. I guess i have to visit the states then!
i've been playing for 8 years and the guitar is indonesian, just like the Sterling JP, not chinese. i said it felt a lot like the jp11, the neck shape was the same, the body was a lot more comfortable on the jp11 but that was the only major difference as to how it felt. just because my opinion differs from yours doesn't mean you should be a jerk about it. now please, quit trolling, go back under your bridge, and shut up, i'm done feeding you.
I'm disagree with you, it's just a guitar, an instrument, what you gonna do with it, that's gonna make your own personality. If you can see the EBMM webpage, almost a half of the Music Man artists own a Petrucci Signature, as ''Misha'' from Periphery, and he make's way diferent music and he has his own personality, another example is ''Feener'' from Threat Signal an he plays Metalcore. soo... try to open your mind a litte bit.
lol,8 years?and you cant feel the difference?it's like being 40 years old and not being able to tell the difference between rum and scoth.learn to play an arpeggio and then we talk.
have you played for like a week?because seriously,if you really think a chinese made $200 guitar feels the same as a custom american made, you dont have much experience.not that its a bad thing, but dont spread out shit like "my $200 guitar feels the same as this custom music man".please..
watching this in 2023 and the thing that i noticed the most Is that It was affordable at the time🥲🥲 if you try to buy a used One today, u have to pay at least 500 bucks more than how much It was worth Just 10 years ago
I have the JPXI and it's the best guitar I ever played in my life. *tear*
I'm sure this one is just as good. They're practically the same.
just got this guitar few days ago, such a killer and amazing guitar and also beautiful!!
JP is the man. Love that intro to Breaking all Illusions. \m/
No Dislikes.....THAT MY FRIENDS IS CALLED RESPECT!!!! That being said, I just bought a MMJP6 (no Piezo) and it is amazing no more Ibanez prestige for me!!
Sound and guitar my dreams ....
Ernie ball ...
I particularly liked character of its wood.
They are both amazing, and they both have guest solos on periphery's new album :D
YA!!! JP THE BEST!!! :)
I own jp 12 Ernie ball rocks
Its from the Song:Breaking all illusions from the newest album:A Dramatic Turn Of Events.
sweet guitar
Finally know how to play that haha! well I can't play but at least I can try the right way. love petrucci!
I never get sick of hearing Petrucci play. My God, this man is inhuman.
I swear... I WILL own one of these at some point in my life...
so, 6 years later, did you? ^^
the pickups are fucking genuine
HOLY CRAP!! thats like 101612.50 here in the philippines O.o

Its the same one he teaches the intro to; 'Breaking All Illusions' :)

clarity, less sustain. does not suit everyone for all applications. but as he said on his signature, it uses three woods
I agree on your point about people who buy other peoples signature guitars, it feels odd. But on the other hand if they're not endorsed by any guitar company, and a signature guitar has some great settings which they desire, is it wrong to buy the guitar?
the sound of john petrucci is with ibanez ! bring justice to the universe !
the music starts at 2:43
Compared to the JPX, I understand the fretboard is flatter, but is it somehow wider? If so, how much wider?
JPM! JPM!
totally agree. if i had a $1500-$3000, i would try to get my hands on an ibanez JPM. one day :P
i miss the old days of his origional music man from scenes and six degrees with the rosewood fretboard. (even though the huge scoop in the front wasn't that pretty)

This is just a quality guitar. Copycat motivation or honest preferences aside, this is a great buy.
I sort of feel that the JP11 and the JP12 never got any serious attention. Quite a shame actually. Still, I prefer the JP13 personally...
Only John Petrucci could have a video with 192 likes and no dislikes.
please tell me, the melody with which the songs that he plays in this video
anyone know the song playing in the background in the first 2 minutes or so?
being good or bad, is a subjective fact, it's depends what you like, don't believe that you are absolute. It's just a instrument, you can be awesome, with or without it, it's just depends of you man, not the guitar. That's my point.
Someone give me Petrucci's fingers n skills...!
the lick reminds me of the vikings. :D
that's weird, i played the jp11 and the neck didn't feel all that flat o.O ah well i loved the guitar. i play an ltd mh100qm and it felt a lot like the jp11
Ah finally the mystery of how to play the intro to Breaking All Illusions is solved!
plus 250 for the pedal

Pft its 3.9k here :/
what is the song call
breaking the illusion
Ken Lee Ken Lee *breaking all illusions
I just noticed he switches to the JPXI and doesn't use the JP12 with his demonstration lol
I have one in mint condition. Always in its case. If anyone is interested, let me know.

the intro of Breaking All Illusions on this video sounds a bit like message in a bottle from the Police.
7 years later : -_-
probs for the tunning or something
that's about 2449.99
เสียงโคตรแสบดากเรย ลุงจอน!!!!

It's £2650 for the 6 in GB... Thank the lord for loans :D:D:D
Guthrie played like that when he was 10.
Petrucci looked so much better with short hair.
i love Petrucci but i'd rather get a custom shop guitar for that price
My god you people at US are lucky bastards... JP-models in europe mostly run for about 2500-3000+ euros, thats about 3000-3700$... damn. I guess i have to visit the states then!
2500 in usa... so it's like 6000 here in Argentina, so... 7 months of working without eat and not paying taxes XD

a series 100 ltd doesn't feel like a petrucci signature,lol.
why

The Best John Petrucci is Ibanez
um, i have the guitar and i've played both of them, they feel about the same. dick.
I got my JP12 for £2300 :):):):)
sounds thin.
lol,8 years?and you cant feel the difference?it's like being 40 years old and not being able to tell the difference between rum and scoth.learn to play an arpeggio and then we talk.
Basswood? No thanks.

and fyi, indonesian made and chinese made are pretty much the same.worst materials, worst quality control.
