You can be fast without being good, but you're not good if you don't also have the ability to go up to a certain speed. Jason obviously beeing way past that certain speed.
This is pretty incredible considering he's had to learn all that remains entire set in like a month, so to be able to play all those songs and this shit is remarkable. Such an Amazing guitarist
@Dylan Gruenloh Eh, as much as i loved oli herbert technically jason richardson is literally on a different planet. Oli wrote some amazing riffs though and he is still the entire reason i started learning guitar. But you have to take a step back and realize jason is a once in a lifetime guitarist and honestly i don't think anyone will top him in a long time, guy is the most technically proficient and clean guitarist i've ever seen, and he has a very very VERY rare knack of being able to play very fast and technical stuff without it just being the same couple of scales like jacky vincent.
@Dylan Gruenloh could be, he is human after all lol. Only reason I say what I've said is I've seen the dude live since he was In born of Osiris and I've been amazed by him almost every time. And I mean to the point where its the only thing I remember from their sets
@Matthew Davies I actually haven't heard his solo stuff, I'll check it out, and im not going by what other dudes say i've listened to falling in reverse for a long while and I've never been impressed by most of their solos except the odd one or two here and there
Dude.... Just practice. What hes doing in this video is not hard. Couple months of practicing alternate picking and you'll be 10x better than this douche.
Yeah I mean the dude is a cyborg 100% confirmed. he learned like 10-15 All That Remains songs in like a month and plays everything tight and flawless... what the actually heck
It’s as if JR is trying to capture the spirit of what Rick does, but their personalities in playing is so different at times. I love his genuineness to it as he can.
He actually improvised a bit and was more expressive with the bends and pinch harmonics thrown in there, super impressed with how far he’s come in terms of phrasing and improv. He consistently gets cleaner and cleaner.
Most guitarists would put their own solo into where the guest solos are but dang you did that as clean as Rick Graham himself! Jason can really play anything
Me, not playing well: It's gotta be this medium-sized watch, it's constricting my movement. *takes off watch* Me: There, much better. *still sucks* JR: *proceeds to shred magnificently for 7 minutes with Big Ben's clock on his wrist* Me: I quit.
I’m really glad someone out here is keeping rustey cooleys guitar legacy alive. Cuz Chris storey damn sure isn’t going to. Jason has taken rusteys shred style and made that shit his own bro. I honestly think Jason’s better IMO. But that’s just me. I remember when Jason did his covers of all shall perish and then he’s in all shall perish. Lol what a transition that is.
Jason is like Goku, all his riffs are just challenges he wants to overcome to get even stronger and he wears a 100 pound watch to build up even more strength so when he finally has to take it off he doubles his power.
I also disagree. I first started listening to him through Luke Holland (the drums in this album) and started listening to his stuff. Then I found videos and such. His music is great to me audibly and visually.
I love the guitar, i play a lot, i have a video on my page of me doin an eddie van halen solo thingy not bragging or anything just saying how much i love electric guitar and this is a bit much, granted this guy can probably play anything under the sun, his physical and mental ability is through the roof excellent but there doesnt seem to be any feel. Its like hes a programmed robot and doesnt even seem like hes enjoying doing it himself, it seems like hes focusing so hard on which notes to hit he cant even listen to it and feel it and enjoy it or even do any improv, But kudos to the guy hes doing a hell of a lot better than ill ever do and hes making it work and making money. but if he got some feel in there he would be one of the greatest, the reason people like this arent household names are because theyre playing to impress other musicians not the common listener
It's just this direction that most new metal bands are heading towards that turns me off too. All that djent/sweep picking/breakdown centric crap should have stayed in the mid 2000s where it should be. Animals as leaders to me really is the best example of the kind of music you're talking about.

He’s a living version of “Betcha can’t play this”
The craziest one I've seen was Chris Broderick's lick. The amount of tapping is crazy.
Totally! Those were fun to watch back in the day.
Wow he does an amazing job keeping up with the guy on the TV screen. He plays it exactly like him.
💀💀💀💀😂
actually, he's even a slight bit ahead of him!
The man is so good that he has to wear a massive watch to slow down his left hand! 😂
The watch isn't doing it's job. Smh

When you've learnt theory for years nothing is too difficult to learn.
My new fave guitarist. This song is a clear flex, and it still retains all the musical integrity. Sounds to me like a masterpiece
This is definitely next level flex
IDK why I still play the guitar dude
Right?

We were there. Glad we got to see JR. Best jam/shred at the show.
Seeing him play Rick's guest solo was a sight and a half
this dude is incredible! hands down 🙌
That tone👌🏼.🤤
I just found this weeks inspiration ✌️

Ho’s down i love it!!! This man just changes genres mid song from metal to neo classical to freaking country… Bro are you even human?
What a talent!
This guy shredding looks so easy and smooth, even he wears a big watch on his left hand. What a good guitarist!
2:08 is still probably my favorite part of the song along with the divebomb solo. They just sound so badass.
awesome! thank you for uploading!
I swear he heard the "betcha can't play this" trend and said "hold my beer."
Give that man a shirt!
All that shredding I think his shirt got caught in the crossfire.

my new favorite guitar player
Genius!
JR playing all of those incredible fast notes but it seems that he struggles every time he tries to play Rick's solo, awesome non the less
rick does some amazing legato stuff some of the best there is. that is not jason's strong side.
@@reiniervanzwieten7092 You are right, those 2 guys are beasts!

He mastered the guitar

So much respect for playing the Graham's solo same as on the original track.

This has got to be the most stressful job ever. He could choose to play quarter notes sometimes instead of quadzillionth-notes.
I have a bad time learning tornado of soul solo, and now I want to learn this. My brain is about to hate me
Are these pickups as good as the petrucci Set that he usually plays on?

He looks more like that kid actor from Small Soldiers and The Patriot

which brand of pickups?`
Miggeddy custom wound Earnie ball pickups, there’s another video on here where he talks about his new signature cutlass
