I have to add another reason I love this axe (I have the Enchanted Forest.) The strings were just barely dying out on the upper frets, and I could see the relief in the neck. So I just now did a truss rod adjustment. I've never done this before, on any of my guitars, probably because they're too much trouble to bother with, and if there was any need for one, it was very, very negligible. But on this guitar it's a breeze. I have a little jewelers screwdriver set I keep with my guitar gear, so I inserted a small screwdriver, turned the adjuster about 1/8th a turn, looked at the neck...., nope. Wrong way (it made the relief worse.) Went the other way, plus 1/8th turn, and could tell the relief was better, but the strings were still, just very, very slightly deadening out on the next fret, so I went maybe another 1/8th turn, and..., done! Took all of 5 minutes. And it didn't affect the intonation or tuning, at least to my ears (I didn't check it on a tuner..., close enough for Rock-n-Roll, as they say!) What a great design!

I have a strong feeling it’s gonna be the Sterling that has to go back .. any thoughts from a user for the EBMM?
Love your playing. Awesome. Do these JP guitars stay in tune with heavy trem use? Can you dive bomb them. They don’t have locking saddles, so I was logically thinking the G and E will go out. I really want to get one.
I love that Piezo so much but the guitar sounds a little too muddy and warm for my taste. Can you do a comparison of the new Majesty and the JP15. Would love if the JP15 sounded a little snappier, had a more open sound in chords and that tiny bit more edge in the high end for riffing
I did a demo of the JP 15 when the first came out. You can compare the pickup section of that video to this one. I don't find the guitar muddy at all. Definitely warm, but that's a good thing! keep in mind you may just not like the tone I dialed in on my amplifier. The new Majesty has so much to offer.

These are by far the most sought after, focussed and inspiring guitars on the market today. Over a course of say 5 years of ownership, these easily will recover the capital cost and then some, by saving a professional guitarist huge chunks of time by getting the job done much faster than some of the less versatile and engineered guitars available.
What is your view on the more affordable Sterlings? is there a significant difference between it and musicman? And could you give me some examples of less versatile and engineered guitars please?
I'm thinking about buying this guitar but in the Kinetic Blue color. That color is a Basswood body. How much difference does that truly make compared to a Mahogany/Maple guitar like this model?? I can't imagine the difference being huge but I have never had the opportunity to A/B to identical guitars made from different wood.
Wood has very little to do with sound. Heard a video breaking for the difference between the basswood mahogany and alder. Right next to each other you could detect a difference, but it was slight. Amp, pedals are the biggest impact. Then pickups then strings. Wood is last on the list of things affecting tone.

Hey Cooper - nice demo. For many years I had the Koa top EBFR JP6 which I absolutely loved. Before they removed the signature inlay at the 12th fret and the last year before they went to the stainless steel frets. As you say - the most playable and versatile guitars in the world, at any price. Like an idiot, I sold my damn guitar 'cause I stopped playing in a cover band and needed additional cash for the downpayment on a house :-(. I still regret it to this very day. I did pick up another used EB JP X BFR, chambered, but it doesn't hold a candle to my JP6. It looks like this Majesty might measure up so I'll check one out somewhere. I have some vintage Gibsons that are also fabulous instruments but for sheer playability and versatility you just can't beat the EB high end instruments. Cheers, and thanks for the demo!
@@coopercarter Thanks, I ordered my TRS to y split, are the magnetics on the tip or ring? I’m Just trying to build the preset with two inputs on my Helix while I wait.
Hi Carter, great demo as always. I have a question about the tremolo on the Majesty. Can it stand up to very high levels of intense use such as what players like Dimebag and Vai do in their playing? I've been playing JEMs for years but am strongly considering switching over to Majesty guitars. My only consideration at this point is whether or not some of the extreme tremolo maneuvers are doable on the Majesty (and not just doable, but will the trem unit endure it over time). Thanks in advance.
Off. The input of the unit is the average of a fender and a marshall amp input and can be treated like any other amp input. The input gain knob is the most misunderstood parameter in the unit. Set it for you loudest guitar and never touch it again. It has no effect at all on tone or level. It normalizes any adjustment and is only there to optimize signal to noise ratio of the A/D converter.
@@coopercarter thanks!!! I set mine up with the boost on like a noob. Was afraid of clipping. BTW, I really liked your demo with the boost on playing a lead, it sounded great. Appreciate the assist.
@@ookookook you got it. Don't treat the Axe any differently than you would a "real" amp and you'll be set! Fwiw, I've always left my input at its default. ~50%
These are nice but they don’t really have any options for people like me who don’t like flat fingerboards. Compound radius like a 10-14 even a 12-16 would be much better. That’s just based on my personal preferences though. But yeah, 17” at the nut is ridiculously flat, I don’t think I could ever get used to that.
Do you think it would be worth to just change the pickups on a JP6 with the new dimarzio rainmaker and dreamcatcher instead of buying a 4k euros majesty ? Or is there a real difference between the two guitars ? Thanks guys ^^
@@coopercarter thanks, just asking by the way : are you sure it's the blue honu that you had in the videos ? ^^ because the blue looks "darker" in your videos than the pictures on music man website :)
Awesome guitar and great review! Just a question, does the push-push on the tone knob split the two pickups only when the selector is in the central position? So when you select either the bridge or the neck pickup it doesn't matter if the knob is pushed or pushed-pushed, right? What version do you think sounds more "clean" in the central position, the coil splitted or the full one? I'm a fan of the old ibanez coil-splitted sound (when it was the default option and there were no push-push/pull knobs), it used to be veeery clean (e.g. the arpeggio on Erotomania), but it seems to me that through the years with the music man guitars and the new DiMarzio pickups it got a bit "crunchy"... I hope I'm making myself clear! : )
Would love a more thorough discussion on the piezo and how you use it with your AXEFX. I have a Majesty and AX8 and haven’t quite figured out the piezo yet.
Great video Cooper! What do you think about someone with robust hands (fat sausage fingers) playing an instrument like this? I belive this is a very well thought product. But Im concern it might not be for me because of the fame of Musicman's Neck profiles of being too skinny. Thanks!
You’re a seriously good player, CC. I comprehend the instrument’s ability to do ripping leads and shimmering cleans, but can it do anything resembling a mello Jazz tone - neck pickup, treble rolled off?
Yes, it can, check them out at any store where you can play one. It is a beautiful full option tone creating guitar, your only limitations is your imagination, and maybe your amp rig:)
Excellent video Cooper! Cool intro song and shred alert! I always appreciate the level of effort you put into your demo's and then I try to learn what the hell did you just play lol! Yes, I have tried this model, it is incredible, I don't have one, but maybe one day:) Like you said, it plays so well, and the guitar wants to pull out your best playing, so smooth. Thanks for sharing!!
I played a couple, they sound good, but for me it's a no-go. The problem is the spacing between the strings is too close. I don't have large hands by any means, but I tried to play the most simple of string-skipping exercises and I was inadvertently hitting adjacent strings...back to my Schecters I go.
All these options and you still can't get a simple single coil sound from just the neck or just the bridge pickup. Severely limits this guitar and the entire JP line.
It's designed for metal, and for JP. He doesn't need the coil sound in general, just with clean tones. In that way it's a really clever solution because you never use the middle position with a high gain crunch or lead sound in metal. So the coil tap could be always pushed out and you still have the correct metal sound, but if you go to the clean channel on your amp, you only need to switch to the middle position and you don't need to push the button. It's a design to switch as fast as possible in metal. For JP and for me it's just perfect. But I see your point.
The most crappy rhythm sound you've ever used haha i don't know why it does sound like if it's clipping, overall great performance and the majesty's are really good instruments especially combined with an AXE-FX3
MY GOD, that intro though!
Any time I hear "what's up guys I'm Cooper Carter..." I know i'm about to get bombarded with some epic guitar playing. This does not disappoint.

Can u pls share the intro backing track !!

11.54 if you want to here clean
How much? 🙏😥
Is this the Kinetic Blue finish?
Do you think it would be worth to just change the pickups on a JP6 with the new dimarzio rainmaker and dreamcatcher instead of buying a 4k euros majesty ? Or is there a real difference between the two guitars ? Thanks guys ^^
Up to you. I'm sure they'll sound cool, but there's really no comparison between the JP6 and the Maj. They're very different sounding/playing guitars!
@@coopercarter thanks, just asking by the way : are you sure it's the blue honu that you had in the videos ? ^^ because the blue looks "darker" in your videos than the pictures on music man website :)
@@HugoPamart haha yeah man it's definitely the blue honu. My studio's just vibey 😂
Correct. No change to the bridge or neck pickups. I like the split (knob up) tone the best for cleans.
I like it..👍🎸
Dude what distortion do you use? sounds amazing!
This is the JP2C+ model in the axe-fx 3
Cooper Carter awesome ! No pedals? If so please share them with me.. I have the Mark V and i am hoping I can get that type of sound as well
@@moealyasini2784 I'm pretty sure there's a video of JP sharing his exact settings on the Mark V.
Thanks!
Dude, you need to check out this guy on YT. He NAILS JP stuff like few can do, and he's a big guy, with hands like you described. Alain Ibrahim.
how does the gloss neck feel? do you feel it affects the playing?
I dig it!! Smooth as silk.
@@coopercarter thats pretty surprising for a gloss neck
Qué pedal wah usas?
Ok fuck fine I’m getting one, I’ll finally pull the 3,600$ trigger
"what's up guys i'm pooper carter. "

Nice ... sound great through your kemper ... owwww sorry I know you are playing with helix ... my bad :)
He said earlier it's an Axe FX.
Thanks for sharing!!
how to fuck did i end up on this video? last think i remeber is smoking a blunt
What do these retail for?
About $2,900 us
Your right arm and your left nut.
Damn....
Tasty!
He’s got ANOTHER signature pickup set? Oh jeeze. How many is that now? Four?
Nick K I agree it’s a ton but this set is really really good. Best one was far tbh and I’ve had them all at one point.
I played a couple, they sound good, but for me it's a no-go. The problem is the spacing between the strings is too close. I don't have large hands by any means, but I tried to play the most simple of string-skipping exercises and I was inadvertently hitting adjacent strings...back to my Schecters I go.
Watches intro, burns all guitars.
Ey, you are here beacuse you would like sounds like The Doo 🎸
The most crappy rhythm sound you've ever used haha i don't know why it does sound like if it's clipping, overall great performance and the majesty's are really good instruments especially combined with an AXE-FX3
Great demo Cooper, thanks! Glad to hear the neck finish isn't an issue too.
