Today marked one of the saddest days in music for me, Chris Cornell was not only a vocal genius but also a living lyrical masterpiece in my opinion...
He was and probably always will be my biggest musical inspiration, if it wasn't for him I certainly would have never become a singer - just wish I could've met him.
I know how you feel. I had the honor of meeting him twice in 2007 and both have been great memories for me. Today is one of the worst days of my life. Soundgarden got me through my younger years.
We'll said rob couldn't agree more , he was one of them you wished if only you could sing and write as good .and look as good .
I am exactly the same as you Rob. He was the reason I started singing. A great singer and songwriter.
I remember in the West Coast tour you did in 2016 (in Seattle) you asked if Chris Cornell had been on that stage.
He had played there. I like to think that was meaningful.
I'm not going to pretend I was his biggest fan or anything, but there was a time that "Slaves And Bulldozers" was the heaviest song I could think of. It still slays to this day!

Sure, but the Sterling version of the Majesty doesn't have the piezo pickup or the wicked trem.
I just got a sterling majesty about 4 weeks ago and I can't put it down. don't get me wrong, I would love a MM but the sterling still kicks ass for a budget guitar!
Well, compared to a normal Musicman a Sterling Majesty is a 'budget guitar'. But calling a €1.100+ guitar a 'budget guitar' might be streching it a little.
That being said, I had the pleasure of borrowing my mates Sterling JP60 for a week. Now I want one...

Music Man is one of the few guitar companies that makes something truly unique. Not easy to do.

I like how rob doesn't even have to play a groove or some kind of rythm. Just as soon as he plays with a clean tone, even a chord is enough for him to start moving around...

What a great way of using smaller flamed maple pieces than regular guitars and still making it look great. The shape somehow reminds me of the old Ibanez Artfield AFD

I think Lee should listen to the new Dream Theater stuff, especially from "The Astonishing" and "A Dramatic Turn of Events" if he hasn't already, I think he'd be surprised with the sound they've been going for in the past few years. They've been experimenting quite a lot and creating some really nice music, especially with clean tones and orchestral pieces. There's still a lot of Prog Metal because that's what DT is always going to be about but it's not just that. Then again, I'm a die-hard fan so I'm biased.
Great sounding guitar. I don't listen to Dream Theater, I really don't know who John Petrucci is and I don't go for signature guitars. But damn is this an awesome guitar! I already placed an order for one and can't wait until it gets here!

He's one of the best guitarists to walk this earth, he is absolutely astonishing what he can produce (no pun intended)

I went Musicman, I have not gone back, by far my favourite guitars, got my Majesty from Andertons last year, it would take pride of place before any future first borns.

Own 3 Majesty 7 strings, one in glacial frost, one in polar noir, and the last in arctic dream. I also own a JP15-7 with the quilt top.
Hands down, the best set of guitars ever made. Can't get enough of them and hopefully I can get ahold of a monarchy soon!

Hey rob I've got a squire HM3 that's sounds terrible and I think it's due to the very old cheap pickups. Was wondering if you had a suggestion for some nice pickups in a budget. It's a HSS pickup set up
This was one of your better reviews, although I wish there was less wah and echo effects so we could just hear the guitar as it is.
And yes, Chris Cornell was an awesome singer.
