- With footage dating back to the early 2000s, this documentary examines the evolution of John Petrucci signature guitar, his relationship with the Ernie Ball Music Man, and features extensive interviews with Petrucci, Sterling Ball, and members of the Ernie Ball Music Man Engineering and Product Development team, who each worked on the first JP guitar design with John and have been an instrumental part of its progression since the beginning.

For over two decades the world-renowned Dream Theater guitarist has partnered and collaborated with Ernie Ball Music Man crafting some of the world’s most forward-thinking and innovative signature instruments. To celebrate 20 years, Ernie Ball Music Man is offering a limited edition 20th Anniversary JP as well as a limited edition 20th Anniversary Majesty. I agree with that. I have only a jp6 lefty model. Earlier I wanted to buy majesty in the left handed version but they said they're not making those so what can I do?
The classic JP6 is such an unstoppable tone monster. My absolute #1 guitar.
same, i have a jp6 from 2005, before it had the crunch lab & liquifier and tonewise i honestly think that's the best guitar music man ever made (maybe together with the jp15 which i think sounds slightly better than the majesty).The new models are all so lovely though, really wish i could afford one to replace my sterling jp70

I really liked the silver JP 13 from a few years back. I think they discontinued that 13 model.

I remember being a kid wanting a Mystic Dream JP6 soo bad back around 2006 or 2007 but would never be able to afford it. Still thousands of dollars even today.

Les Paul is the all time bestselling signature guitar, unless you're coming from the future. Your love and passion on a player doesn't affect the solid facts.
I hated the look of the Majesty, but it grew up on me to the point that I bought one of the original Arctic Dream ones. I only have 2 problems with that guitar:
1: It's expensive AF, but you can tell where every cent went
2: It's so damn easy to play that I barely even touch my other guitars.
My OG Iced Crimson was cheap as fuck to pay off per month. And I didn't have some fancy job. At least they're cheaper than every version thats come after. Nowadays you can get the first models 'used' in basically perfect condition for damn good prices.
That matte finish and the carbon fiber designed black shield are pure sex. Never desired a newer version after my OG model.. or understood why they're strictly gloss now/ditched the black shield.
Same. I thought the majesty was one of the ugliest guitars I’d ever seen and then it grew on me. The glacier frost white one is my favorite.

I have followed DT since 1993. Saw them so many times in the 90’s, always stood right in front of John every show. After seeing them play later on the 6 Degrees tour, on September 10th in 2002, I immediately went out in search of a JP6. One week later I bought my first one, a Pearl Red Burst JP6, fully loaded. Such a great guitar.

The Majesty has been everything I’ve needed in a guitar. Ridiculously easy to play, great lead and rhythm tones, stays in tune incredibly well for a non locking trem, lightest guitar I’ve played, and ergonomic. If I didn’t want a strat tone, this would be the only guitar I’d need
For some of the models that I tried out in stores, I got interesting tones both clean and dirty using both magnetic pickups with the piezo blend; it’s so versatile even with shit settings.
John petrucci is one of the smartest, most well behaved gentleman and absolutely great guitarist ever seen❤️❤️❤️
John deserves all of the success and accolades. That guy works hard and has genuine passion. It is a great thing to see.
I remember going to this NAMM-like fair 15 years ago and trying every hi-end guitar from all major brands I could get my hands on. Left the place knowing JP6 is THE guitar.
Years later, I'm a happy owner of not only that one but also two Majesties. Truly inspiring instruments!
So fortunate to own 6 of the JP and Majesty pieces and a couple of JP2C heads. Greatest instruments and amps. Nothing compares.

I just hope that John will never ever leave us. I listen to his music since the early Majesty days and started playing the guitar. After so many years i just can't imagine a world without him.
His unique melodies combined with his humble and friendly character really helped me through a lot of bad and good times. I always wanted to own a Jp siganture music man but unfortunately couldn't afford it. Some day i will have one.

Everytime I think I love the JPM for everything about it - the looks, the tone and the memorable albums made with it.. The Music Man guitars are something else - it is evolution one can look at. I don't think I will ever be able to afford one because of other financial commitments to my family, the Majesty and the JPM will always be my dream guitars even if one can mod an RG to look like a JPM.

I own the white Majesty. I was returning a guitar that sucked,and by happenstance someone was returning the Majesty..the guitar guy said hold this while I do the paperwork for your guitar. So I’m looking at this guitar,,knowing it’s thousands of $’s. and I’m a Petrucci fan. After 5 minutes of playing this guitar I traded in every guitar and pedal I had..needless to say,I’ve had the White Majesty for a couple of years,and I gig often,it’s a workhorse of a guitar..Super versatile,always stays in tune,and unbelievably comfortable to play..Hands down the best guitar I’ve ever played! Thank you Sterling,John and the whole crew for making a stellar guitar ! 👍👍👍🤩🤩🤩

You guys are the best. I had a JP13 for 2 years and it was one of the best things to ever happen in my life. Sadly I had to sell it and it is REALLY hard and expensive to buy one of these in Brazil (almost 20 minimum wages, the price of good used car). I brought mine from the US and I hope I'm able to that again real soon. Looking forward for the next 20 years of JP + EBMM!

I own a bunch of guitars from several manufacturers. I can say they definitely made the Majesty playable for just about anyone. It’s not just John’s name on an ordinary guitar. The ones with the alder bodies really do it for me. Worth every penny.
Managed to lay my hands on both the 20th Anniversary models.

This is why I became a fan of Ernie Ball, their attention to detail is unparalleled. I own a Valentine (not a fan of m5) but I love the shape, the feel of the neck, the sound. My next guitar will be another Music Man.

One of my all time favorite guitar players. I have a sterling jp 70 and a couple months ago I was lucky enough to be able to buy a BFR Bali Blue burst Majesty it’s my favorite guitar and I barely play my other guitars.

The first time i tried John signatire guitar was in 2019 in guitar summit in mannheim, germany. Well, i don't know how to discribe this guitar, at that time i was stop playing guitar for about 4 years which make me back to be amateur again but anyway, i wasn't even profesional guitarist and you know what, after trying a lot of guitars at that event, the Majesty was blowing my mind, this sound exactly like the dream theater song, and since then John's signature guitar ist on my list to collect guitar. Well done Music man and John! What a incredible Guitar!

I remember picking up an Ernie Ball jp6 musicman and thinking "oh wow, that's definitely worth the high price."
The neck felt incredible, the guitar was resonate, ergonomic, and very fast feeling. Also the the floating bridge was totally different than the Floyd Roses I was used to . I regret no buying that guitar to this day. That's the only artist series guitar is but tbh.

I was done trying to play like JP ten years ago, but man this made me want to acquire one of these bad-ass guitars and get working tjose chops!
My very first sallary was spent on a Sterling JP60, the closest thing I could afford to a JP6. I now have 5 guitars and It still my favorite guitar..
I have the first JP6 in Candy Apple Red, bought 2002 (it's the 'cheap' version without the piezo) and I still play and love the sh*t out if this thing ❤
