Amazing... Love the way the body is sculpted and the wood is pretty amazing. Also really like the neck thru design and adjustment. Plus the recessed hardware design as so trick! Price seems to be in line for this type of guitar, $2800. Not a fan of the boost, it sucks for the battery to crap out in the middle of a performance. Yes, it has positives and negatives, the all do but still, that's one sweet guitar!

Every fucking time I see the Majesty I want one....The only thing I don't like about it is that it doesn't have a compound radius, and other guitars in that price range usually have a nice 10-14 or 12-16 compound radius.
The reason why the compound radius is so important is because it changes the entire shape of the fingerboard from cylindrical to conical and allows you to get the absolute lowest action possible while having the strings be absolutely perfect and uniformly spread from the nut all the way down.
Without this, only the middle strings really line up properly.
For some people it might not be noticeable, but for me it absolutely is.
It's one of those things where once you play a guitar that has a compound radius, you really don't want to go back to a continuous radius ever again.

Does anyone exactly what options have the roasted maple neck and radius of 16" or 15"? Also, if possible which one has the BIGGEST frets. I tried the Original JP6 with the Mystic Dream and noticed the neck was birdseye maple (although probably nicely dried birdseye is known to lack structural integrity) and the frets were smaller than I expected, just like the regular Majesty, although very very well finished.
Man, I have for months, been talking about how much I wanted to try the Artisan out, to the point I almost just ordered it...But, Yesterday, the Guitar Center near me got one, so, I went and tried It, I was kinda taken back. The sound it had, had this thin resonating tin sound, I played it out of multiple amps; A couple of different Friedmans, Marshall JVM, Engle, etc. And would find a sweet spot where the note sounded not so tin like, but it still felt odd, weak-like, wasn't sure if it was that Artisan at Guitar Center, and if the batteries were going out or something...So I tried the Monarchy, same feeling, except darker on the gain; I wonder if the batteries were bad, but I was disappointed...I tried the JP 15, huge difference, warmer, smother and fuller bodied tone, it wasn't saggy like a Gipson, it was tight, and the notes popped; Those Illuminators, something about them, the sound of each note across every string, have a very even push on each note, where the highs wouldn't bite, weren't louder and the lows weren't muddy or harder than the highs or vise versa...maybe I need to go back to guitar center with some batteries in my pocket and give the Artisan another chance, but I just don't get it. Wanted a 7 string Artisan, Now I'm starting to rethink things.
Lee G your first mistake was playing it at guitar center. They are shit at setups and everything there is beat to hell and worn out from kids wanking on everything.

+WaRLoKWYATT but usually stay on tune or not is determined by the nut right? when it is out of tune, the string is pulled away from headstock, and when the pulling is released, the string is stuck a bit in the nut
Ernie Ball makes their own graphite nuts. Let me put it this way, the two best non locking terms on the market are: PRS, Ernie Ball, and Suhr guitars. Granted there are other great standard trems, but this stuff is as good as it gets today. I put my entire credibility on it and I don't even own an Ernie ball. They have that down.
gujeff If you're not sure, go with the floyd and on my channel, I have a video to help out with setting it up perfectly, which I'm gonna redo in more detail. But I can also help out with standard trems. Feel free to hit me up any time. I actually know my shit. I've been setting up guitars for 11 years and I've been a player for even longer. Honza Krčil locking tuners. There is a thumb wheel on the back of the tuners that lock the string in place. It's a much simpler way of stabilizing tuning.
JPs tone was way better back in the 80s when he was with Ibanez

Back when chorus on everything was cool. Now it's just obnoxious and sounds outdated. Drop the chorus man. For leads it sounds cool and all but just riffing it makes it sounds washy and gross.

Petrucci looks like Jesus Christ. I love the idea of ergonomic design, because my number one complaint about my Strat is that the volume knob sits too close to the strings, right where I rest my hand. I actually just had the guitar shop move my volume knob on the guitar because I got sick of constantly hitting it when I play.

Hell, the Les Paul guitar was a signature model - now it became a guitar SHAPE. Don't tell me you won't ever own a Les Paul?
@@hjubris i get your point, but the brand name and signature model are 2 different things, this guitar is just screaming JOHN PETRUCCI which is what i dont like, i have a fender strat, but i would never buy a signature model, i rather mod it myself or buy a custom shop model.

The bridge pup is WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY too far from the bridge:) That kills your best pinch harmonics and more complex tones. I would not own it for that one reason.
batmandeltaforce you don't know what you are talking about. the bridge pickup is less than the distance away on an Ibanez gem, this guitar doesn't have pickup mounts. I measured the distance on my gem and from the back side of the pickup to the string seat on the bridge and it's exactly 1" on the 6th string and on the guitar he's playing it doesn't even look like 1/2". I think it's an optical illusion.
