These guitars sustain for days.
Lovely presentation , Tom! Very succinct and to the point. Thanks!
Great review and great playing as always, Tom.
The only gripe that I have with all of these Petrucci model reviews is that a proper review of the piezo sound almost never happens....so thorough yet by plugging into a small mixer for the “real” piezo sound it would really bring those pickups to life.
Rock on man!
Very very good indeed. You do a great review, indeed. I would like to buy this, indeed!
The only negative aspect to Tom's reviews is that he is such an accomplished player that he can make a mop, bucket and string sound good.
Such a thorough review. Wow...
Every time you say indeed i think of the scene in The Trip where they are doing Michael Caine impressions....
Indeed!
Just kidding, great review from Tom and great instruments by EBMM, I have 2 Artisans 7 and a JPX7. LOVE EM! \m/ ;) \m/
Tom does some of the best reviews
Indeed
great sound ànd very versatile
Great to see that the guitar is versatile enough. Also, Tom just sounds like Tom whatever guitar he plays, so maybe I'm a bit biased :D
Lovely guitar! Great player! What else does one need in a review.
You can definitely tell Tom is more in his element with single coils. I love watching his other videos, so I guess my ear may be schewed.
Dark guitar, dark shirt, dark background.
What were you guys thinking? :P
yep,the background should be pink.....
MEETAAAAAL \m/
They were not.
Who gives a shit ???
Clean your ears and listen dude...
🐳 ♫♫ ❀(~‿~)❀ ♫♫
It's very slimming!
And black guitars never show detail on video - probably a bad idea to send one out to the press to review. The background...doesn't get in front of the guitar. So...? :-P
got mine a week ago,,same like this,,Halleluja,,.but strange light and small,,feels amasing
How much it cost?
Tom,what amp are you using,it sounds awesome
All of the gain...
👍 nearly bought one if these in October 2017, but eventually spent my money on a Vigier instead.
The Monarch is a great guitar, I wish I could afford to buy one as well as my Vigier.
Great review, respect from Hampshire
good playing also
my peizo is broken, i need replace my part piezo but i dont know where im shop this part
What amp is being used for the demo??? Any drive pedals???
curious what types of scales your jamming to? Very cool.
Why didn’t they recess the back cavity plates, considering how expensive it is?
Why the right hand swing after every last strum.. Is it the guitar effect?
I imagine the long upper horn is designed to keep the strap from pinching your left collar bone which makes alot of logistics sense. Petrucci has too many signature guitars and pickups to keep up with and it makes you wonder how capriciously mind-changing John is. Is it for more money or for an earnest change in mindset? Petrucci's 90s tone was already perfect.
It's called marketing and I suspect that it has less to do with J. Petrucci than with the necessity for EBMM to find new markets/customers to keep selling guitars.
Did he mention what amp set up and effects he was using?
Piecho piecho piecho indeed.. But to be fair coolest reviewer and what a beast of a player! I find the Majesty ugly, but once you play one.. Wow! ✌️
Hey Tom, what where you feeding the Majesty into? Amp, Cab, Modeller?
Same question I had?
I love EBMM guitars... but does it come with Tom Quayle's fingers ? For £3.6k it should. I wish EBMM would spend more time and marketing expenditure on non-artist labelled instruments.
I like it 🤟
One other thing I don't like -- the coil split switch only works in the middle position.
I'd rather it work in all three positions. I understand why someone would not want it that way though.
surgeyX For simplicity. In the demo he says it was desinged as ergonomic and easy to play as possible. John mostly uses the humbuckers to avoid the volume drop when splitting, and uses the inner-coil/piezo combo rarely, mainly in songs such as "On the back of angels" where the dynamics don't matter.
You know what, I just thought of something...I think maybe the reason why he only wants it active in the middle position is so he can easily flick the pickup selector to the bridge or the neck AFTER using the single coil sound, and it will automatically go back to the full humbucker sound, negating the need to mess with the push / push switch again.
Also, you could just leave the push-push switch up all the time, and automatically get a single coil sound when you move the pup toggle into the middle position.
That makes sense now.
Especially for JP who is always switching pickup sounds in the middle of runs.
I suppose though that it wouldn't be too hard to re-wire it -- but on second thought, this guitar I THINK comes with the "game changer" system, so maybe it's possible to just re-configure the switch to work in all three positions using the game changer software? Would love it if someone knows the answer to this question if they could reply, thanks!
surgeyX that and he has the JPX and JPXI that have 5 way selectors. I have a JPX and a Monarchy Majesty and I'm a happy man
Is there some hybrid picking going on?
Putting great Music Man Majesties aside - I see that you're playing with the guitar tuned fourths as opposed to the "traditional" E-standard (with the third between G- and B-string), and I'm just wondering: It makes sense that it's more liberating when it comes to soloing and single voiced melodies, but does it offer something new in chords as well?
@@PeterOevergaard1 ???
@@PeterOevergaard1 WTF
Sometimes blue guitar
Love the guitar, just very expensive..man! Trying to justify that much money...very hard.
You can find a Gibson for double that price and half the quality. EBMM have a lot of hand made work
For $4,000 I’d spend it on a Paul Reed Smith.
@@chuckdriver7741 Which PRS?
It's totally worth it at that price considering the features and playability it offers.
I really prefer the earlier Illuminator pickups over these ecstasy ones..but they seem somewhat similar. What do u guys think?
riheg Yeah, I would like to hear if there is any significant difference between the Ecstasy and Illuminators. One thing I noticed between the Illuminators in a JP 13 and the Illuminators in an Majesty Artisan is that although they are the same pickups; it seems the circuitry in the Artisan steals some of the tone as they sound less hot and with less clarity than the ones in the JP 13. I wonder if the Ecstasy bring these Monarchy guitars to a similar tone as the JP 13 with the more modern circuitry, for example.
Although at the end of the day any difference in pickups can be leveled up with EQ and tone controls in the amp.
The Illuminators are brighter. The Sonic ecstasy pickups have a LITLLE less high end and more mid LOW for a SLIGHTLY darker fuller sound. Between crunch lab/Liquifire and Illuminators. I LOVE EM!!!! SONIC ECSTASY pickups are a HOMERUN!
What amp ? that tone is ripping .
Which one is good for John Petrucci sound the Majesty (Not Artisan) or Monarchy Majesty?
Md Farooque Both will do his sound if you use the same type of equipment he uses.
Thanks for the comment. But I have doubt because Monarchy is made of African Mohagany which sounds darker and Regular Majesty was made Basswood which sounds more regular. And I want to use what JP prefers. Btw I have AX8.
Md Farooque JP is currently using the Monarchy Majesty on tour. Use what sounds good to your ears.
Thomann music store have this guitar for sale for 4600€
Это у меня есть такая гитара
Tom was probably cringing during this video considering how juicy his laid-back home tone already is ..
Dude this guitar costs 5000$ in India !
This is ironic. He should have his own signature model!
Niccolò M. he has a signature by Ibanez now.
yeah saw that yesterday! so cool :)
3 grand.. you just wouldn't would you ..
Mine doesnt sound as good as Tom's....
Practice 40 hours a day.spend time for learning some theory
@@najmihakimkhairi1210 I know some theory, I am older and my hands are slow
That's a lot of plastic on the back for $4,500.00
how many pounds does it cost??
*@ BIBEK Dewan*

The rest of the world doesn't give a shit about your pounds anymore. Since you (UK) guys opted *OUT*, you are *OUT*. Get used to it...
I can get it [JP Majesty 6-String Electric Guitar - Stealth Black] from *Long & McQuade* (Canada) for $1,179.99 CDN.
You do your (UK) math dude...

We're not out. Not for another two years. And the £ was never linked to the Euro so it's only the markets playing with exchange rates.
It's also fucking rude playing politics when the guy only asked what it cost.
Happy whale what you were looking at was the Indonesian made majesty by Sterling, the US made Ernie Ball Majesty costs $4000
its not $4000, they are $2999, and they are AMAZING guitars that are almost cheating they play so good. Gibson needs to take some serious notes here.
Rick Feith where I live it is €3900, fml
See this guy I think he introduce his signature guitar, like playing better then Petruci
To bad no locking nut or fine tuners. Also the inlays are distasteful.
its pronounced "Pie-Zo" not "Pi-Etzo" lol
Resale value are low on this model
I have to say... This model sounds way better than Petrucci's old Floyd-equipped models. Every single one I've tried, and every single one I've heard just sounded lifeless to my ears.
Honestly I prefer this guys playing versus John Petrucci
The old JP signature was so much better looking than this one, it's awful
The awful, disgusting headstock on an outstanding guitar.
I like how it works
the body is so gross though
Well...you are balding!
a guitar that needs a battery to work? no thx
It's just for the Piezo pickup. Just like a regular acoustic guitar. The magnetic pickups don't need the battery.
Thats just such a weak statement...the battery lasts ages, and it allows you to do things NEVER before possible. Have you ever played a EBMM?
it's certainly beautiful looking and feels good to hold but for aesthetic and other reasons I'm simply not interested in a battery-operated guitar (btw, the battery does NOT last ages unless you're good at remembering to keep the guitar unplugged)
Thats all part of owning a battery geetar...but its really easy to remember, and they do FOREVER!!!!
With the Majesty guitars, you need batteries or there will be no sound, even in mono mode. The batteries do two things: run the piezo and the switching for the pickups which is part of the gamechanger system. It essentially gives you pickup switching without popping like a normal toggle switch does.
