  • I'm always amazed at how quickly people are willing to give up their rights to privacy just because in they have nothing to hide.
Join me as we delve into the controversial debate over privacy vs security. In a world where technology allows for constant tracking, are we sacrificing too much of our privacy in the name of security? We must tread carefully in this digital age.
It's crucial to protect our rights to privacy more than ever.

It's a good idea to track phones or vehicles, especially in emergencies like locating suspects, lost individuals, or victims of kidnapping. However, constant tracking for non-emergency purposes invades privacy. Even though one may have nothing to hide, it's crucial to respect privacy.
Many, like myself, take precautions such as covering the front camera due to privacy concerns. While insurance companies may suggest tracking, I choose not to opt in.
Thank you for the informative video, Mr. Randy, and God bless you.

Awesome points as always officer, and thank you! The less dependent people are on governments the easier it is to push back on privacy infringements, even by law enforcement, the people we expect to protect us. The more people like you out there spreading the good words, the better we understand our rights and responsibilities. The problem oftentimes that not everyone is capable of bearing the cost of law suits and years or months of legal actions…etc. so most people would take the easy route of giving up more info than they should. God bless you officer!

I know many young adults don't care about being tracked, whereas older adults do. I think it's because we didn't grow up with cell phones, and security cameras, etc. We know what privacy really is like. Now, we are watched/tracked everywhere. I agree with you about the drone on the beach. I remember when a Cop would be on an ATV driving along the beach, watching out for people drinking beer. I bet the drone can now tell you what beer you're trying to hide in your cooler. It's that smart. 🤣

Another great video Randy! I have no apps on my phone. I'm not sure which ones have access to all of my personal info so I stay away. I use it for calls and texts.

I don't have a smart phone and my car is 18 years old but in great shape. No cameras inside or outside my house. I am one of those people who have nothing to hide and if any of my info helped catch a criminal then knock yourself out. Thank you for the interesting videos.

Great views and opinions. I agree, most modern cars now come equipped with smart technology. Tesla is an obvious one, although helpful that information can be used and accessed by who knows who. Best to put safe guard measures in place first

Cars and cell phones are basically computers that do not shut off ever! Laws need to be put in place to limit apps and software developers from tracking and invading your entire life. Given that this information is out there as long as there is oversite and the right to judicial review I see no reason under necessary circumstances that Police should be able to access it. But and this is the big one no fishing trips or tracking the hot looking blonde real law enforcement needs only.

In some aspects I think it’s a good thing. If someone goes missing or kidnapped and the person has their phone it would be an advantage to be able to track a person. For example my son is a pilot and god forbid he is in a crash or even off course I would be so appreciative that they could track him. Unfortunately like you said we have made ourselves very vulnerable by having access to apps for our enjoyment. Sadly we have allowed our social media and internet connections to provide our privacy to be compromised. So I agree and disagree with accessing information.

Unfortunately, I think your right. Not something I want what so ever. My insurance company asked if I would put an app on my phone to track things because it would help lower my insurance rate. I said NO. I don’t even like using location or gps on my phone but sometimes its a necessity.
Lack of reception at home and at the farms I use wifi calling and there again necessity.
Its very scary to me the real lack of any kind of privacy we have and more and more is getting taken away everyday. It genuinely worries me as I don't see any good going to come from it.

Very True! Soon all vehicles made in the USA will be able to be turned off remotely. Ford has already begun to install software ( on 2026 models ) that if you are past due on your loan, the vehicle can be shut off. And then get this, drive itself to their impound yard.....I can't make this stuff up! Just like your smart TV, it listens to you. It will take key words you say to send you ads to your phone or tablet. This has been going on for years already. Got Alexia at home? Same thing but worse! As far as Police Services tracking you though, like you say, there are legal hoops to jump thru, but it can be done. For the hardworking law abiding citizen, I don't think there is much to worry about, but ppl that are associated with drug dealers, gun runners, organized crime, the people who rather make money illegally....those are the ones that need to be tracked IMHO

You are already being tracked if you have a cellphone.
Access to information should be on a need to know basis. Checks and balances must be put in place.
One person cannot have all the power. Absolute power corrupts absolutely.
Just look at the chaeacter Dennis Nedry in Jurassic Park in the novel and movie.

The only reason cops would track ANYONE if they are repeat offenders, the place has security cameras in the exterior or interior of the building or if the person is a vulnerable person (senior, victim of crime, psychiatric patient)

As long as Police can get a proper Court Order and use that to just locate the person, fine. I don't believe they need to know what messages you may have saved, or the names of your contacts. That information should require a second court order.

But sometimes I wonder if it isn't advantageous for the Police 🤔 Thanks for this Have a great day 😀

This is setting a very bad precedent. We are definitely headed in that direction, if we aren’t there already. This was all predicted many, many years ago. China is on a social credit system. Is that really that far into the future for Canada? To be fair, our privacy was erased, the moment we all went to smart phones.

I'm one of those people who have nothing to hide but I totally value my privacy. Most of the cops in my neighbourhood know me because of working with the tenant reps but I would struggle to give them my phone just because they asked. I don't allow apps to access personal information when prompted. I will delete them. I've deleted all critical personal information on social media.
I have no idea where the world of privacy is headed. I do know they need to impose strict laws to protect people which they currently don't.
Great thought provoking video Randy. Wala'lin

Leave my family alone Officer Arsenault. There is no reason to harm them. You have hurt myself and my entire family in terrible ways. You and your bully, blackmailing, and abusive police need to STEP BACK from involving my family in my abusers abuse of me. It has nothing to do with them. You are not so dumb you don't know this. Oris acting dumb a huge part of being cops so you can manipulate vulnerable women into submitting to terribly abusive situations so you can blame them and harrass their family to cover up for their abusers. Leave my family put of it. Leave my child alters out of it. If you have an issue cone talk to me. There is no reason for police to harm svictins family otber then smearing their name so otherscan feel superior and justified in the outrageous last 6 years of my life. If you and those people online don't stop I will continue to not ever stop speaking, even to my own detriment. We deserve to be free from this horrible unfair and exploitative situation that has hurt people I love. Be a better person. Please.
