Met an undercover. R. C. M. P. He drove a green van with servallance equipment and tinted windows for drug enforcement. He looked like a real badass hippie from the 70 s. My Dad was working narcotics on a joint operation with. R. C . M. P. Would never have even guess he was undercover. He was such a a cool solid guy we had him over for supper😊

I can spot them in a second or less, whether it's their mirror or wheel design. I can even identify their lights when they're off. I can sense them right away, not just undercover police officers' vehicles, but also people from police families or those who are becoming officers or already are. When I had passengers, they often talk about how they are related to law enforcement or are from police families. Many times, I've had conversations where they've revealed their connection to law enforcement.
Thank you for the video and your hard work, Mr. Randy.🙏🏼

The peel cars get a much better life because they have and opened area but toronto division cars especially downtown get a hard life lol. Back in the day I saw a motorcycle zig zagging all over the traffic and all of a sudden a dented pale yellow Chevy lumina put on the alternating headlights. Boom your day just got worse!! 😅

Again great demystifying info. My guilty pleasure are cop shows. Love the European/UK ones too, so I like to think I’m well versed 😂 but I know reality is different. Fun question: any series that you think does a great job of being realistic as well as entertaining?

Very interesting video Randy! What a piece of work that K-car was. But it worked wonderfully for an unmarked car (although it was covered in marks - lol). When I was a volunteer with DRPS, several speed enforcement cars were call 'ghosts' because there was a faint imprint of the DRPS logo on it. I love that Vancouver has used vehicles bought from the proceeds of crime in parades etc. In the 90's I saw several police interceptors (I think they were Firebirds) on the DVP. They were cool to see. Otherwise I don't think I would recognize any unmarked vehicles. Have a great day!

Great video! You are 100% right...they drive anything!! I remember in the late 70's my mom met a copper who drove a '69-'70 Chevelle with primer on one fender, and a flat black on the other fender all on a light blue car that looked to be rusting "petina" if you will. Used a hand held radio and had a red flashing light under the passenger seat. That was cool. In 1990 met an officer with OPP who was in a specialized unit, he drove a 1989 Cutlass SL 2 dr. The uniqueness of it made it perfect! He had switches that could turn off certain lights ( headlights, fog lights, running lights) so that when following suspects and had to turn a corner, the lights would look different! He had the old magnetic teardrop red light behind the seat on the floor also. When I worked in the car business, a dealer who had his own leasing business, would lease high end and supercars, to the old Metro Toronto Police Service. When you are playing a part, you have to look the part ;-) My point, like yours, is that they are everywhere!! And seriously, you can't tell. I would of loved to of worked in procurement for a police service....as a car nut, it would of been fun.

Ha! A clapped out K-Car. My fav was the 1978 Plymouth Fury or Dodge Monaco with the 440. They were the fasted North American production car, and proven. Clocked at 148mph. I had one at 17. The vin, WL41U8A...... The "U" was the indicator that it had the 440 cubic inch engine, the biggest engine Chrysler produced, and only found in Taxis and Cop cars that year.

@@OfficerArsenault oh good God nooooooooo!!! Lol, no offense but the driving in the GTA is horrible at best!!! In Germany to get your driver's license you need to be able to change tires, have completed a 1st aid course must be able to do oil and fluid checks, change sparkplugs, perfom minor road side repairs etc and are taught driving etiquette. In Canada this type of road system ( equivalent to the 400 series of highways in the GTA) would be deadly. To many people on cellphones, texting, talking, etc. Nevermind the tarmac and road paint Randall, in Germany when the roads get wet, the paint reflects back at you with your headlights unlike over here, where you're guessing what lane you're in🤭

Not everyone is observant of these things, lol, but. Military training shows in people.. My Dad had a special presence about him... 😊 But I agree probably just depends on many variables and the degree of undercover ... 🥸
