      Might as well have bought a new one. You're going to spend the difference between a 2019 and 2016 just on maintenance alone.
      I've seen other videos claim it's $12k/yr just to operate a GT-R and keep it maintained properly.
      That's approaching Bugatti maintenance prices.

    • @1mexico1fut
      @1mexico1fut 5 лет назад +1

      TasteMyStinkhole if you get warranties from the dealership when buying it will usually cover maintenance with a very low deductible. My nissan offers free fluid changes , and 100,000 mile warranty you can buy.

    • @TheRaptor1967
      @TheRaptor1967 4 года назад +4

      @@TasteMyStinkholeAndLikeIt Maybe, if you cant change oil yourself. I tend to do all maintenance I reasonably can myself. But I'm got used to working on cars in the 80's and on, so yeah, they were simpler then. But Fluid Changes, Brakes, Filters, Plugs, Coils and most stuff the OBD computer gives you are no-brainers and cost stupid money at the dealers. A $20 OBD2 Blue Tooth dongle plus $5 Torque Pro on your smartphone can still tell you a lot even if it cant do much except clear fault codes.

    I bought a 2009 GTR with 75k Miles and it was well cared for. One of the owners used it for lots of freeway driving. She wanted a GTR for her travels. She had lots of work done to it with all the maintenance logs. The steering column was one of them. Among other warranty items, transmission, flywheel housing, front diff, instrument cluster, AV unit, ECM reprogrammed in 2011, TCM reprogramming. Second owner had the transmission rebuilt with a Shepard Stage stage 1. I didn't pull logs with Nissan but sometimes you can tell when I car is good. The detailed logs had me sold.

      You could own one. I think if the GTR-34 get's legalized in the US, all other GTR prices will drop. Then as more years go by, mialege goes up, mods, paint deterioration, etc, the cars price will drop even further and you could probably have one for $25,000 used of course. And by then the aftermarket will have solutions to fix all the problems and make it bulletproof reliable.

    Another nice video! Ya know what amazes me most: GT-R owners wanting to sell, USE a real camera!!! 50-105mm lens (get farther away from the car, THEN zoom in a little, THEN take the photo!), and use a polarizing filter to remove unwanted reflections, and shoot in the last hour or first hour of the day = easier lighting = car looks better. $75k car = $1 photography skills. Way too many wide angle distorted looking images (especially the dealership photos), but I enjoyed salivating over 'em! Seems like it's around $70k for a 2013-14 sweet spot. • @TasteMyStinkholeAndLikeIt
      @TasteMyStinkholeAndLikeIt 5 лет назад

      I have watched too many of those "how much does it cost to own a GT-R" videos.
      If you stick with only certified Nissan GTR techs, and follow their maintenance schedule, and use only Nissan certified parts, you should be right around 12 thousand a year in maintenance.
      If you go to your neighborhood jack of all trades mechanic who works on cars for a side income, and you buy aftermarket parts, you can save a decent chunk of change.
      I have no idea what it costs to maintain a Ferrari, but changing a set of tires on a Bugatti costs $25,000 for the tires alone. It's pretty insane what it costs to maintain a Bugatti

    • @AVelez-zq5hf
      @AVelez-zq5hf 5 лет назад +1

      @@TasteMyStinkholeAndLikeIt so far from the truth. Maintenance schedule is typically $200 dollars for an oil change at the dealership every 4 to 5000 miles. Fluids on 09s, the big ones are transmission/differentials every 18k mile and it is incredibly easy to do. Typical cost at the dealer is around 4 to 500 bucks if you supply the fluids. Average cost - I would say is somewhere around $2000 to $3000 a year if you're following the book at the dealership.
      My car is out of warranty and has around 83k miles and I've owned it for over a very, very long time. I recently did the spark-plugs, coolant flush, diff, transfer case, transmission, engine, brake, power steering oil, -- basically all fluids in car as well as the serpentine belt and an alignment - it ran me only $1900 parts and labor at a reputable performance shop. If you're buying a car like this - you should be more than capable of being able to afford the maintenance of it.
      Lastly, Bugatti tires don't cost $25,000. $25,000 is the cost of the annual service of the car. Tires for the car cost around $30,000+ and the tires can only be changed up to 3 times on the same set of rims before you need to get an entire new set of rims from Bugatti --which cost even more :(

    The GTR lost some of its coolness as the prices went north of $100,000. It used to be a huge bargain. Now the performance is still there but add another 10 grand (which relatively speaking isn't that much if you already dishing out $110,000+ ) and you could be buying a nicely equipped 911. As far as the Nismo version, that is a complete rip off considering what else you could buy for that money.

    I’ve got a gtr32r and love it, obviously it’s not anything like the new GTR’s but man with the right parts and build it is a sweetheart. I thought of selling to purchase the 35, just can’t pull that trigger in my mind. Maybe one day.
    As I know the 32 is a dinosaur compared with the 35. I will say I’m happy with the rise in price mine has done. Bought in Canada in 2008 straight from Japan 🇯🇵.
    It still only has 109 000 km’s. Many expensive parts added but original cost $14.500. 😄. Do I sell it and purchase as 35 or keep it ? It’s sitting at 600 whp with a beautiful engine build/ turbo combo.
    I cryogenic treated many items that were possible weak links. Nothing but smiles till winter in CANADA 🇨🇦 hits 🥶 although this does keep my km’s down.
    PS-love your videos mate 🤘🏼❤️🇨🇦

      Keep it and add an R35. Best of both worlds. You're in on the R32 really good and prices are only going to go up (R35 included). The R35 is leaps and bounds in technology compared to the R32, but the nostalgia and RB26DETT is legendary.

    Do you think it's worth getting one from Canada? It's about 5k-10k cheaper for used DBAs based on my research.. Just wasnt sure if it's worth the effort.. What do you think?

      Check for any import/transfer fees first and if the car checks out then it should be fine if it's within your finances.

      @@GTContent thanks for the response, appreciate it! I've got an used '14 in mind which is like 2000 miles away from me. The mileage and pictures all look good, but I'm hesitating if I should just pay the seller and have him shipped over the car...(without even a test drive) I know it sounds dumb but any suggestions? I don't think flying over is an option for me especially during thus pandemic situation. Thanks

    Excellent Video.
    I have had two GTR R35 and exactly what you explain is what every buyer should observe. An interesting point is to check if the front bumper has two small layer of clear plastics under the headlamps that will let you know if the car has been painted or crash.

    How can you compare 2009 dollar to current and say that the GTR was a value then and not now? $100 in 2009 was equivalent to $123.97 now, so the car is basically the same price now and is improved in every way since then.

    So grab an older (09’-14’) GTR, slap some bigger turbos on her, put an after market exhaust/and intake, some tuning and boom it’s faster than any Nismo 🤷🏻‍♂️ for WAY less $$
