I am one month into GTR ownership. At the time of writing this, the video is three years old approximately. That being so, GTR's have increased approximately bt £5k judging by the adverts shown in the video. Currently they shown every sign of increasing in value. I own a 2008 full Japanese model with the R35- vehicle identification number as opposed to the rather normal 17 digit European or US spec cars. I bought a low mileage car in a rare colour. To the best of my knowledge these cars have never really dropped below £30k and all models appear to be increasing in value, particularly rarer models like mine. We have all seen what has happened to the R34 recently. Grab a GTR while you can!
I'm mostly an LS guy but my first high horsepower vechile experience was when I was stationed in Japan and Co owned a 1998 black Skyline GTR. We got it in 1999 for practically nothing, I was pretty close minded back then about any engine with less than 8 cylinders and didn't really want to put money down with my friend on some six cylinder car I never heard of. I had a long time secret love for the Z series and initially stupidly thought. "This thing has to suck I mean if it was as good or better than a 300Z then obviously they would have sold them in the States." I was excited to see they were still making 300's in Japan and that's what I wanted telling myself it'd be okay to love a 6 in Japan or Germany since they seemed a bit more special. He keeps hounding me on it finally saying dude just come check it out, what do you have to lose. I remember thinking hey this thing looks nice, looks bigger than I imagined and still wasn't sold. Somehow he convinced the owner to give him the keys and a few hours with the car. He says to get in and start it up. Damn! was my first thought when it came to life. We were out in the middle of nowhere, well as close as you can get to that in Japan. He planned that since I didn't have my Japenese license yet. I think I fell in love with the car mid launch. It was an epic 8 months with that car before we lost it "long story" So the Skyline has always had a special place in my heart from then on. I'd never been inside the "New" international Skyline but had always been curious. I've been pulling single dad duty the last few years and drive auto auctions while the boy is in school. Today I finally got to drive not one but 2 2011 models and enjoyed it. And was completely shocked to see one sell for 72k and the other for 68k. One was black and the other was white. Talk about holding value! Edit to add I'd love to bring a black 1998 GTR to the states.
Ah man GTR's are such a brilliant car man love these cars man its my dream to own one of these beast man nothing can ever come close to a R35 GT-R as the sound of these cars is amazing man coming from a 3.8 v6 man such a great sounding car bro hope one day i keep #ONIT and achieve my dreams to owning a beast like Godzilla R35 GT-R 😍😁

I think these are such good value, they’ve not depreciated massively, they’ve been sitting at 29k for the last four years really, look unreal with the facelift bumpers on. I’m looking into trading a few cars whilst studying, would be good to have a series on how to get into it and how I go about traders insurance as a youngster
£5000-£7000 per year insurance, fuel, tax, brakes, tires and service. High Performance car so it needs oil change at least every 6 months or 5,000 miles. Not cheap to run. Ofcourse you can cut corners and save here and there. 370 running costs are cheaper at around 3k-4k depending on mileage you do. Based on 10k miles.
hey i own a GTR. a 2012 one to be exact. i bought over 2 years ago. in the 2 years i’ve owned it i had 3 oil changes which actually only costed me $280 each. i haven’t had any maintenance on it except oil changes and also tire changing which i don’t count. also brakes were changed when i first bought it and that was $1900. other than that-that’s about it.
Tire pressure sensor battery probably run out. I have to change all four on my 450h gs for this same reason this week 😪 battery’s supposed to last 5-8 years.
Have to admit now I would happily take a gtr over a Ferrari or a Lamborghini or anything else the value for money and tuning potential is immense, I've had the fortune of driving a 4.25 Lichfield one and it's such an angry car and the sound is unreal, much love for the gtr.

A technological master peace the GTR is hands down a brilliant car but it’s had its day and the 370Z from the same era just feels that much more modern in styling, exterior and interior.
I feel like this is what you've been missing since you sold yours, until someone rings you with an offer. You should keep it Calv, I have a feeling you'll fall back in love again.
Cool cars with very good road presence plus are getting 'cheap' with most being on sale for about £30-35k. Personally if covid hasn't left you worried about your job security and your earning a very healthy salary why not buy one

Do like these but i dont see them appreciating like r32 r33 r34 gtrs have done. There are way more around for one, they have facelifted them numerous times.if anything i reckon a bog standard one will be worth more than a tuned version in years to come.

I know this is. Off topic , I got sandblasted by Gritter near you in Luton , m1 before St Albans Gritter comming other way m1, I’m in 2 lane no cars around 8.30 in evening last Sunday, my mini is fucked, 5 seconds of rocks bouncing off car needs respray. Wish I could find anyone else travelling if they were sprayed on Sunday evening
ETS and Spec tires. This one looks good but it comes down to the tires if differet profiles are run on the GTR it will cause the ETS to load up on the awd unit transfer clutch to brun up, New transmission is $21,000usd not installed..... that said other areas to look at are the oil cooler its never cleaned out best to buy a new unit from Setrab and have the fittings made to bolt it on. If you're going to track it you will some basic mantiance updates. Also Full brake fluid change over, New pads and Brake rotors..
I could see anything that told me what trims they were. They didn't have leather seats if anyone thinks they can ID them from that. I did think the 3 switches were weird. I tried flicking them up into race and nothing would happen. ???? I thought then I decided to flick it up and hold it there which did the trick. I'm guessing it's a bit of a safety feature to make sure they aren't accidentally hit.
These are Awsome cars, done a track day some years ago with Nissan in 370z and GTR and we were on a short in Circuit and my god the difference in power was emence, one day I hope to have one. 👍

Miss that car in a way,pick up was awesome. Same torque as the 4.25, limited by the box,but initial hp takes over after a 100 mph. I should of bought the 1000 Gtr down ....😁

traders insurance is simple but depending on age like most UK insurance if you are under 30 it will cost or they won't cover you on any cars over 20k!
My country ,the 08/09 gtr costs almost £60k at this time....
