2013 gtr is probably the best one , was also the last year model done by kazutoshi mizuno. after he retired, nissan has listened too much to crtics that they tried to make it more luxurious and softer. those transmission noises are also on the pdk porsche's especially on the turbo's and gt models. funny in a porsche they would call it raw and exciting but on a gtr they called it noisy an unrefined.
+trustgtr33 That's what I would think too regarding noise from other manufacturer transmissions...I'd probably even include interior noise may be less tolerable. But as you mentioned, the argument would be it's more raw. Lol And yes, 2013's are the best year 😁
Which is often why I struggle to appreciate how good it is at it's relatively "low" price point. Impressive car, not my personal favorite. Honestly glad that people enjoy their cars though.
It's weird because the skylines had almost just as much hype yet no one hated on any fanboys. It's as if everyone back then already knew and accepted that the skyline was an amazing machine. I guess the car community just wasn't as big and toxic back then..
Well, if you lived in the US back in those days, then it was a different story since we did not get them here. Hence, there was much fanboism with fewer haters. Being that we have access now and it seems that "EVERYONE" has them due to social media/RUclips, then there is a larger group of toxic people. There are groups like these for each car manufacturer, so it's not going to change. If you're a car enthusiast like myself, then this is one of the best times to live given our car options.
Thanks! Yeah, I don't plan on anything outrageous to the looks as I think it's great stock. I'm more performance oriented and plan to get a series going on the upgrades to the GTR and if it helped with performance (VBOX 1/4 mile testing).
SOOO PRETTY! I'm such a Nissan/INFINITI fan. Such great cars that I've ALWAYS owned one. From (3)200SX's, (1)300ZX, (2)Maxima's in my 35 years of driving. Next one will be a QX50.
Hey guys, just checking in...I finally got my INFINITI QX50 (2017) at the end of August. Fully loaded, Graphite Shadow, 19" wheels. It's very strange NOT having a manual transmission as this is my first ever owned automatic. My left foot is bored and my hand still goes for the gear shifter. The ride is smooth but firm, passengers say it feels very solid. I'm averaging 22.5 MPG (mostly highway driving). I want to get dedicated snow tires (New England winters), looking at Xice Xi3's from Michelin (they don't make Pilot Alpine's in 245/45-19). Any other suggestions? Loving it.
GTR owner here for 6 years now and still satisfied. First year cost me a lot upgrading the gearbox due to clutch plate failure. The rest is regular maintenance and not much more.
Great review, I love my 2009 CBA GTR, it had its issues to start with but a few upgrades and it is a 10 second quarter mile drag car that I can drive around daily. I will keep this car forever.
Shooty Mike Same here, over the weekend I had the chance to drive one for the first time and it’s unlike any other car I’ve driven. I definitely shed a tear. If you get the chance please drive one, it’s a surreal experience.
There the fastest cars on the planet. But Make sure you buy 2012 and up.Thats when the transmission was able to take more power without breaking every three months. Take it from me l owned two of them.Dont daily drive it.Weekend car only.
I just discovered your channel today, your reporting and manner of presenting information is very likeable and concise. I do enjoy watching your vids on rumoured cars. Love to watch more to come in the future!
I don't know man. My dad owns the black edition, and I mean the quiet low exhaust sounds so so menacing. Like you don't know if its quick or just another BMW look alike.
Late to this party. I am not wild about the styling. It is not the worst I've ever seen. I LOVE the GTR though. The technology and interior are amazing. One day....
I saw the title and allow me to comment without wasting my time on watching this video.. As a 6 years owner of a 2015 GTR to date, owning a GTR doesn't suck at all!! Still have the car and I'm driving it on with first day's passion! Hope this video content doesn't sugget otherwise! Thanks
Great video. One thing worth noting is that from 2015+ the headlights and taillights were revised. Not certain but I believe they’re the same lights that the 2017+ come with.
Done: bought a used 2016 w/ 13K miles. I've had a GT350, GT500, S2000, et cetera...that car is a fucking machine! Insane!!! Paddle shifters took some getting used to though; never really had automatics outside of my wife's 4Runners.
I love dudes who are not biased in their opinion. My car rattles like a bag of screws when driving, but I assume other sportscars do it as well, so it´s normal.
best info on gtr! I'm looking to buy one now. i have noticed 2015-2018 are around the same price on cargurus. i have the money for 2020, but i hate the white line on it. which should i get? I'm not sure
This would be my number choice for at DCT car. There’s really not much to complain about the car in my opinion. The performance and price point is a no brainer.
Beautiful car, you should give me a ride some time, lol. My s2000 recently started making a clutch noise too. It does not bother me and it is not detrimental to my car so it's just one of those things that make it a sports car.
its not my style of car , but it is well deserved in its love and respect. Nissan deserves all the awards they have gotten for this achievement. cool ride man hope it stays that way.
I currently drive an stock STi, GTR has always been my dream car, when financial situation allows, it will be on my next purchase list. Maybe a video about maintenance cost for a future video?
Nice vid. Amazing car. Had my first GTR in 1994. Oz delivered R32. Just mind blowing at the time. My only beef with the R35 is size and weight. Great review

GREAT REVIEW!!! YOU CAN ONLY IMMAGINE HOW FREAKED OUT I AM WITH MY 1200 HP SWEITZER BUILD GTR. NOTHING COMES CLOSE TO BEATING ME, AND I GIVE EC.VERYONE A 3 TO 5 CAR LENGTH HEAD START. THIS THING IS WICKED FAST AND CAN BE HARD TO CONTROL.. TAKES TIME TO GET USED TO IT. THANKS...
My old 69 Camaro has a lot of clutch chatter which I never noticed until I began driving more modern clutch cars. In a GTR I don't even detect it compared to my oldie. My issues with GTRs is not the car itself, it's the crowd that comes running when they see it coming, they're just not "my people". I find the GTR fanboys really grate on me and I have difficulty tolerating them. The old school crowd, including old school Tuner crowds, speak more my language and don't set off red flags. I'm an old-ish person. But a lot of things people take issue with on GTRs isn't an issue for people like me because it's far better than my old 69 Camaro ever had. "I don't like the ride." Ride in my Camaro, you'll love the GTR from here on out. "Clutch rattles." You aint heard no clutch rattlin' until you have driven something old. I could daily a GTR easily given I grew up in an old muscle car. If it wasn't for COST. GTRs are friggin nightmares when it comes to keeping them going. But here is my biggest issue, and it is PURELY a personal thing. It isn't an attack on GTR owners or anything because GTR owners are in the same boat. I don't feel "special" in a GTR. When I drive around in my old school pro touring Camaro I feel like "THE ONE!", while a GTR owner would be the other way around. In my Camaro they probably wouldn't feel like they're being noticed or appreciated but in their GTR they are GODS! Now if we could just get more people on both sides of that discussion to shake hands and stop throwing their chest out challenging everyone maybe the car scene would be fun again. My car is show only, I know I wont win a race against any GTR unless it's a stock R32. But I do get a lot of attention and at the right kind of car meets even if everyone around me is faster we still have fun because we appreciate the work we put into all of the cars. Tuner crowd (In my area at least) isn't anything like that. Squabbles and showboating get meets shut down as fast as they get started.
There is a reason why the factory tires are so expensive its because they are runflats and made specifically for this car by Bridgestone and Dunlop whereas the Michelins arent. This car doesnt have a spare wheel so if you get a flat you will be in trouble.
My 2009 GTR with after market turbos makes 800 to 900 hp and total costs are 100 k for all... I run away from any supercar for Tons less money... And service costs are 1/2 of my oldPorsche 911 Turbo...
In the market for buying one but I'm kind of on the fence I would love to pick your brain I'm 47 years old retired and looking to buy a real nice car the GTR is it at the top of my list what do you think
+Scott Smith I think it depends on what your looking for. -Do you need rear seats (small occupants only)? - Do you need AWD? -Are you satisfied with the performance stock? Because there is a huge aftermarket. I think it's best to go drive one and you'll have a better idea. Lmk if you have any more questions.
Not sure what it is in you..is it fact youre probably Japanese orgin American.. But fact is your videos are great: topics, density of info, music, montage of it all.. Also GTR like..Prelude is a sports utility vh😉 Thank you
Not really. Technology has come along way and automatics are not what we think of them anymore. I think the reason to go dual clutch/automatic was a great idea as that's what many super/exotic cars are doing nowadays. When an dual clutch transmission can shift faster than a human and know shiftpoints and when to rev match, then it may become a losing battle. I've got 10-things I hate about the GTR video coming, so I'll address the transmission issue in that video.
I have the 7/AT in my 370z and I love it as you can just focus more on picking your lines through corners, the limits, and then not go insane in stop/go traffic. Already did the whole aftermarket clutch hell in a wrx + stop/go traffic + constant throw out bearing problems + high labor costs to replace. Thanks for posting the video and keeping the car clean!!
that aftermarket gauges pictures hahahahahahahahahaha how many gauges does he need

Forget about having passengers in the back seat. They are more for decoration.. Unless you are little people of course. When I drive, my seat is literally touch the back seat. No one is fitting back there. Even my wife who is 5 ft tall leaves about 2-3 inches of space between the passenger seat and the rear seat. If you have a passenger, no one is fitting in the back unless the put there legs across the seats and sit horizontally.

I wish I could like this comment more times 😂
Spot on.
I'm getting a 2017. It looks so clean
Guerrilla Gaming before you buy is going to give you a headache
These cars may have their annoying as hell fanboys but you have to admit, they are awesome machines.
Yes, fanboism aside, they are great cars.
Then the internet happened. People's inner youtube commenter came out ....
If you're a car enthusiast like myself, then this is one of the best times to live given our car options.
if you dont like noise, dont buy a gtr lmao i like that
Or install sound deadener
Just buy a supecar that spend its time at the dealership.
First car review, eh..
I think it's one of the best I've watched!
Great job!
Playing with spiders and cars lol
one of the best gtr review ive ever seen
Thanks!
I have never commented under a video but man you deserve it great review 👍👍
Another great video from this channel. I can't wait to get a GTR myself soon. Keep up the good work!!!
Thanks! Let me know if you have any questions or update me on your GTR when you get it.
Did you get it
Hey mate, just wanted to say love the videos and thanks for sharing your knowledge with us. Keep them coming !
Thanks! Will do!
Clean car man, gunmetal is defiantly the best color for it. Its nice to see an owner take care of their GTR and not throw on bodykits and airbags.

Damn im not the only one who loves Infiniti/Nissan, every time I talk about it, every one says that I'm ridiculous. Finally I'm not alone
Hey guys, just checking in...I finally got my INFINITI QX50 (2017) at the end of August. Fully loaded, Graphite Shadow, 19" wheels.

The Black Edition is my favorite car in the world, I will own one before I turn 30 💯
Me and you both bro
Aldeeezyy how’s your journey to the GTR.... I’m still waiting on my raise lolol
@@wilhorne4881 im hoping by july. I wanna put 10k down
I've set the same goal, 9 years left.

GTR owner here for 6 years now and still satisfied. First year cost me a lot upgrading the gearbox due to clutch plate failure. The rest is regular maintenance and not much more.
Yeah, the GTR is reliable.
how much did that cost?
How much is for the general (I call it DSG I own Porsche) maintenance? I’m trying to compare because I was shocked at the bill.
Wouldn't the warranty cover that? Clutch plate failure in a new car? (as you said in your first year)
maybe he bought used
that was the best gtr review i have seen yet. thank you.
Great review, I love my 2009 CBA GTR, it had its issues to start with but a few upgrades and it is a 10 second quarter mile drag car that I can drive around daily. I will keep this car forever.

Drove a GTR around Brands Hatch and was blown away.... awesome car, I wouldn’t swop it for my Cayman S but boy did I enjoy it. 👍
It's better than a cayman s faster and more reliable.
i just found this channel and i am very excited about it! cheers

I think the only thing a GTR needs aftermarket is a better exhaust. They sound pretty quiet stock.
Zelo Sound is a preference, but yes, you can increase it with aftermarket offerings.
GT Content yea, very true.
I don't know man. My dad owns the black edition, and I mean the quiet low exhaust sounds so so menacing. Like you don't know if its quick or just another BMW look alike.

I'm in love with the Nissmo 😎👍
2 minutes in an I had to give a thumbs up, quality review!!
This is the best GTR channel out there! Thank you so much for making the awesome videos, I hope I will get my very own GTR in a few years from now.
I love the colour of your GTR, that colour is easy to maintain than colour black. Thank you! 🙂
Great video. One thing worth noting is that from 2015+ the headlights and taillights were revised. Not certain but I believe they’re the same lights that the 2017+ come with.

Beautiful GTR... AWESOME VIDEO,,, thanks for sharing... 😉👍🏼👊🏼
This review aged well ❤
I'm looking forward to owing one
Solid review liked your matter of fact delivery 👍
Love the way to kept it stock. Not those crazy body kits or big wings.

My s2000 recently started making a clutch noise too. It does not bother me and it is not detrimental to my car so it's just one of those things that make it a sports car.
I can take you for a ride if you're local. lol
The S2K is a nice car. I'd choose that over a BRZ, RX8, Miata anyday.
You seem like a person who knows what he is talking about.
Thank you.
Fingers crossed will buy it one day❤
Yup GT-R is my dream car

What exactly made you choose the 2013 model? Was it the trans issues lingering in earlier models?
I currently drive an stock STi, GTR has always been my dream car, when financial situation allows, it will be on my next purchase list. Maybe a video about maintenance cost for a future video?
3leafz Already made it😁. Check out my GTR playlist on my channel.
Nice vid. Amazing car. Had my first GTR in 1994. Oz delivered R32. Just mind blowing at the time. My only beef with the R35 is size and weight. Great review
Nice car. We unfortunately couldn't even import them during that time.
Yeah, the R35 is larger and heavier.
Thanks!
I bought a GTR R35 it's a wonderful car, I have no complaints!!❤
Most of the complaints being made about the GTR are from people who don't directly own them. Journalist who drive them for 2 hours and wouldn't know the difference between the brake or clutch pedal, nit pick and couldn't find anything of substantal value to complain about so they complain about the "chatter". Complete bullshit. I've drive a few and they're no more chattery than anything that's out there. The corvette and Porche were BOTH rough idles.
chattering is down to one of the pins in the brake calipers (the top) not being spring loaded like the bottom one is. You can get these from Nissan and easily replace and that noise will stop :)
Love ur videos very informative...got a question, are the sounds and noises around the bell housing normal???
Can you give me your opinion? Thnx
Nice video!, i see how much love you have for your GTR, im thinking of getting one once my lease is over.
why did you get the 2012 version, purely cosmetic reasons or any other thing need to be aware off? gearbox?
Question. If you were to never track a GTR. What is the point?
love this video, simple and informative.
Thanks!
How reliable is it ?
Has any part failed after warranty or something. Hows the turbo ?
GTR's have been known to be reliable and I can attest. I have had no problems with mine so far.
I heard it's a $20,000 transmission. You don't want to have an issue with that 😂
They are very reliable even Vs normal cars. Vs a throughbry sports car they are bomb proof. Maybe a 911 would compete.
nice video! how has reliability been so far?
Reliability has been great. No known issues yet.

Already did the whole aftermarket clutch hell in a wrx + stop/go traffic + constant throw out bearing problems + high labor costs to replace. Thanks for posting the video and keeping the car clean!!
Your vids are great!
Thanks!
So 16mpg is under light foot?
Just your typical driving here to there with some pulls.
Nice car but that startup engine noise???sounded like it runned on 3 cylinder and to much Shake when started.
Amazing review! Ahh, so close to my GTR purchase it burns.
+Solarview Keep at it man. I know you'll get there.
that aftermarket gauges pictures hahahahahahahahahaha how many gauges does he need
