No you cannot be denied a trial. It is constitutionionall protected. Doesn't matter how he acts. He's trying to rattle the judge and jury to try and get a mistrial, but at the end of the day, he's going to be in prison for the rest of his life.

    • @tonyploma2330

No we have a right to trial. However upon conviction your sentence is ALWAYS much harsher if found guilty at trial vs taking a plea deal. He knows the best plea deal he could possibly get is life in prison with no chance of parole. So why not go to trial and try to win on some technicality. I would rather see him do life instead of the DP. Death penalty is the easy way out. You do 15 or 20 years and one day you lay down go to sleep and down wake up. Nah I'd much rather him be stuck in prison in general population for the next 50 years or however long until he's old and Grey and dies in prison

The only time you can be ‘refused’ a trial is occasionally in civil suits like with Alex jones where you have so egregiously defied the courts (not responding to subpoenas, not complying with discovery, etc) and you get a default judgement against you where the case moves immediately to the penalty phase

@@canadianbeef1958 because being in a jail uniform risks making a jury think the defendant is a criminal because they look like a criminal. But they are not until they are found guilty. Defendants have won on appeal because they weren't allowed to wear street cloths and thus look like they are already a criminal. She's making it abundantly clear that she's giving him every chance to wear street cloths or a suit so he can't make that argument on appeal.
